That Last Paragraph Is Interesting

Ed McDonnough: You mean you busted out of jail? Evelle: No, ma'am. We released ourselves on our own recognizance. Gale: What my brother here means to say is that we felt that the institution no longer had anything to offer us.

That's always a good idea--escape just as you're about to be released!! And he wonders why he "can't get ahead in life"!

Is it unusual for someone about to be released to escape instead? Guess he didn't want to mess with the paperwork and parole instructions so he just bypassed all that crap. Any guess how long it will take to put him back in and throw away the key? How do you spell stupid?

I really appreciate the "Raising Arizona" reference.

"I'll be takin' these here Huggies and anything you've got in the register."

"Son, you've got a panty on your head."
