Can I Get A Witness?

A massive tort reform set of laws were enacted at the end of 2003. The Star Telegram had a story today about the laws' impact with this "graph" showing the number of medical malpractice suits filed.

Interesting that our current Attorney General was the benefactor of a multiple million dollar lawsuit then helped push legislation to limit lawsuits.

Hey Sheehan, Remember your Attorney General Morales? I believe he was a democrat and was indicted on 12 counts of fraud and tax evasion. Feel better now?

10:46 - I believe Morales was convicted and is serving time. That demonstrates the fact that he made legal errors - not that that makes it ok for Republicans to violate or exploit the law. Let's not paint all members of any party with a single brush. Why not judge each situation and individual separately?

Is bringing up another's past wrong the only response you can ever give to a current wrong?

Sure when you seem to think only Republicans are corrupt.

TXsharon said...

For the record: I have never said nor do I believe that ONLY Republicans are corrupt.

I will note, however, the difference in the way Democrats handle corrupt members of their party versus the way Republicans handle same. Jefferson vs. DeLay

The HUGE difference between US is that I will NEVER defend anyone, no matter which party, who is a miserable failure!

To Bickering Politicos...
Why are you people unable to realize you will NEVER change each other's opinion. Do the sensible thing and simply agree that each other's political party of choice SUCKS and BLOWS and move on? Oh right, you are discussing partisan political OPINIONS, making it impossible for sensibility to ever be a part of the equation.

It is MY understanding and experience that in the history of ever there has NEVER been a society or civilization made better by PARTISAN politics. EXACTLY what is YOUR objective when arguing PARTISAN politics?

1:45 - You show your ignorance to easily. TX indicated that Rep. Jefferson (D) was handled differently by his party than Rep. Delay (R). It's clear there are crooks in both parties, let's clean house this Nov of all the corrupt ons!

TXsharon said...

2:13 Agreed! Zero tolerance for political crooks no matter what their party affiliation.

Anon 2:13, You are right that the democrats handled Jefferson differently. They stood behind him and did not call for his resignation. He will probably be rewarded by being given more seats on influential committees.

Idiot at 2:15 - the Democrats stripped Jefferson of his committee chairmanship. It's up to his constituents to vote him out. Delay on the other hand, retained his post until indicted on several charges. Delay finally resigned in disgrace but the Republicans tried their best to protect him to the bitter end.
