That is kinda the opposite of what Jesus said in multiple different ways and at different times...

But whatever. When I need advice on being a closeted gay dude I will seek his counsel- post haste.

Well shit, I destined to end up in heaven-lite!

Obsessed much, counselor?

I'll never claim to be a great biblical scholar or theologian, but in protestant theology/biblical teachings I have NEVER read about a of different kinds of "Heaven". Now if Jeffress is considering conversion to Catholicism and that theology of purgatory, perhaps. And I think he is on course for a train wreck collision w/ the Southern Baptist Conference.

That freak is simply a certifiable nutjob. The fact that people cling to him frightens me.

That statement is a bit inconsistent with Biblical teaching. There certainly will be rewards for those who have earned such, but the experience will be the same for God Who is no respecter of persons.

A heaven with a huge wall to keep Mexican heaven separate from USA heaven

So he is saying....

Heaven has a Highland Park and a Rhome?

What Bible is he using?

This has been written about by Christian scholars long before Jeffress and does have some scriptural basis. Matthew 16:27. It kind of makes sense though. Why would the worst of all humans that was saved and repented on his death bed get the same rewards as Mother Theresa. It is definitely interesting

Another reason to come visit me. Same facilities for all. And we're always having an outdoor cookout.

So is there just one hell, or is there a hell with a country club?

Book and verse please, not that I believe all that, but from a historical perspective, book and verse please.

Believe me, I've been told by many...many....people. That Dr. Jeffress is a bad person. Trust me. I call him "Devil David".

So heaven has mansions of gold and double-wide trailers made of recycled aluminum?

Shit, I hope there is a cabin back in an empty wooded area, like in Holy Montana or Holy Wyoming, with internet, electricity and running water.

Amen?

Uhhh, if you think the best there is can be found in Highland Park, you are a sad individual.

Check out the Perot compound on Straight Lane.

One neighbor is his sister, the other is a guy named Dirk something that plays in the NBA.

You may just find out for yourself sooner than you know.

Horrible, horrible guy, and if he's getting into heaven, my guess is he ought to hope against hope that there really is just one heaven.

307 actually contributed something worthwhile. Matthew 16:27 - "For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works." That's Jesus himself talking. Agree or disagree with the sentiment, it's pretty much what Jeffress said.

"opposite of what Jesus said" and "I have NEVER read about a of different kinds of "Heaven" and "inconsistent with Biblical teaching" please reconcile your comments with the quote from Jesus.

And I don't even care about this topic. I just hate poor arguments.

Bad works=hell...good works=heaven, any questions? Heaven doesn't have an Admirals Club!

Faith Without Works Is Dead
14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good[a] is that? 17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

18 But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder! 20 Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works; 23 and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”—and he was called a friend of God. 24 You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. 25 And in the same way was not also Rahab the prostitute justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? 26 For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.

James 2:14-26

Ghost writer talking Bible....interesting.

There is the kingdom of heaven for all who attain it, there are no bad neighborhoods.

And if Heaven has divisions so must hell, right? Can you find us a verse on the greater or lesser parts of hell?

Tom Landry does have the nicest house though in Heaven, since was God's favorite NFL coach.

Obviously, we have no idea.

When you die, you are dead. That is it. Religion is merely a way to inflict fear in order to get your time, money, and support.
There is no god.

Leave it to Wordy to spin the bible to fit Jeffress' ramblings. Anybody that follows that snake oil salesman is a dotard.

My request was simple -- those who claim Jeffress's comments aren't "biblical," reconcile those claims, if you can, with the quote by Jesus in Matthew. (And additionally, the passages posted by 9:40, if you were about to holler "out of context" or "spin.") I don't even care about Jeffress. All I wanted was for you guys to make better arguments. So far, nothing.

To the disinterested, in this instance it's Jeffress 1, Critics 0

"...Reward every man according to his works."

This was usually interpreted to mean that there is a binary set of rewards; Heaven and hell. Not a worse hell or better heaven dependent upon how much worse or better a man was.

Believing in Grace pretty much defined the binary interpretation. Man being selfish as he is was quick to start finding ways to setup a class structure in eternity.

929 - Okay, now that is a decent argument. I have no idea if it's accurate or not, but at least it's relevant.

Paul saw in vision what he called a "third heaven". 2 Cor. 12:2

Paul also describes three glories that differ like the sun, moon and stars differ. 1 Cor. 15:40-42

Actually it's Jeffress 0, God 1000. That man is gonna burn alongside the rest of his snakeoil brethren.

I am not a big fan of Jeffress, but as I read the Bible and whether it's the Old or New Testament, they talk about a final judgment that will be based on our works. It never says we will be judged by our faith. And the final judgment is to determine the quality of life one will live in the hereafter so it makes sense that the more obedient in this life will live a better quality life in the hereafter than those who are less obedient.

Works don't get you into heaven. Please brush up on your theology a bit.
