Same law that says you have to pray to Jesus before the football game and vote Republican.

Texas education at it's finest.

I realize that those of you who hold a JD have a certain level of expertise that us common folks don't have - that's by design, keeps the rest of us from knowing what in the hell you are saying most of the time.

But this is most likely a simple misunderstanding of the meaning of certain words. US Code does call for one to stand and render the proper honors during recitation of the pledge, and as the story noted there is a similar code enacted by our state legislature.

In my best Andy Taylor voice, maybe these folks just need a little more schooling and a little less being made fun of. Would probably be a good time to teach a whole lotta folks something they probably think they know, but ain't exactly right on.

But where's the fun in that when being pedantic is so much more fun

And I'd also say the vast majority of the critics are as equally ignorant on the subject

There is one law that liberal weenies just can't seem to comprehend. Crossing the border without a green card or visa. I think that's why they call them illegal aliens. Emphasis on illegal.

Will somebody PLEASE explain to me why there is such a large movement in this country to undermine everything our founding fathers, our warriors, and our just plain citizens, have worked to build over the past 241 years. Obviously I did not get the memo.

If you only saw what the inside of schools really look like now. This generation doesn't give a rip about anything but entitlements. While their grannies and grandpappies are raising the unpatriotic (name any country) and unmotivated Millinieals, you better start socking away money for supporting these lazy disrespectful butts. They just don't care exvept when they want to draw attention to themselves with this kind of crap.

I suppose if you actually read the article you would have found the actual law the presentation is referring to:

Sec. 25.082. SCHOOL DAY; PLEDGES OF ALLEGIANCE; MINUTE OF SILENCE. (a) A school day shall be at least seven hours each day, including intermissions and recesses.(b) The board of trustees of each school district and the governing board of each open-enrollment charter school shall require students, once during each school day at each campus, to recite:(1) the pledge of allegiance to the United States flag in accordance with 4 U.S.C. Section 4; and(2) the pledge of allegiance to the state flag in accordance with Subchapter C, Chapter 3100, Government Code.

So, yes, it is "the law."

Stay Classy

The truth is much stranger and simpler- It is just plain rude to sit during the Pledge...
