Property taxes are higher than giraffe genitalia.

The only time homeowners don't complain about their tax valuation is when they go to sell. Then, suddenly, they agree with those higher values.

12:46, people don't sell in Decatur. It's a vortex of freakdom. The people born here are the worst, and the move ins seemed to get sucked into it as well. That's why everyone's eyes are so close together here. Thankful for the job, but won't be moving here.

Find a buyer for what they say my property is worth. Not gonna happen...The property I am talking about hasn't sold since 2002 even though it has had a sign on it for sale, and now they have valued it 40000. higher than last year. There valuation is that of Keller or Southlake and Decatur will never compare due to all the gas lines and easements the infrastructure kills the deal.

Who edits this newspaper? Tip for the day. Look up the definition of pedestrian. A pedestrian is a person TRAVELLING by foot; walking down the sidewalk, walking along a road, etc. "2 pedestrians" is a completely inaccurate way to describe an employee and a customer at a car lot when a wreck happens on the road.

You would not use "motorist loses control" to describe some guy who gets mad at a party and throws a beer across the room, just because that guy drove to the party and his car is parked outside. He's not a motorist at the time, and these individuals were not pedestrians at the time.

The one good thing about sky high property taxes is we get our monies worth, especially from Mr. Townsend our Superintendent, who is underpaid for all he does. DISD has new busses, farm facilities, a state of the art administration building, expanded pig and cow areas, upgraded athletic facilities. These things take money (taxes) and Mr. Townsend passed the bond to get us these ag and athletic things - yes taxes went, but finally we got a superintendent and board that quit worrying about scores and is putting our taxes to use where it matters for what kids really want. Sorry to see the guy leave.

7:13, You need to rest your lips for the new guy that will replace Mr. Townsend.

713....you are a dumb rear. That crook should be locked up in jail and you should be his cell mate. Sounds like your searching for some man love?

I want to recommend voters go out and elect Glen Harrison to the school board. He is a great example for our students and community. A highly successful DHS teacher and Coach. Recruited by larger districts, left, and ready to return and make a difference in our community. We need more role models like Glen. Get out there and vote!

12;35-

That's not exactly the way most of us remember Glen Harrison and the reasons he left DISD. Do your research.
