Waiting for the Chico bond election results. Why is it taking so long?

Let the sucking up begin

You have 25 pending notifications. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU???

Anonymous said...

I think everyone who has ever posted on Facebook should be fined $100 per post.

Anonymous said...

Chico ISD just took a step back ten years. God Bless those kids.

Anonymous said...

Sucking up? The kids will suffer because of the newly elected school board. The Buckners split up the fire department in the 70s, our church and now the school.

Chico will not be getting a $2.5M ag barn.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss...

Yay! Chico makes a good decision. Moving in the right direction! Ready for new leadership, a responsibly developed bond, and coaches that keep their vows to their spouses!

Shake it off loser, haters gonna hate!

election results are sad for Rhome. I feel sorry for the city. New mayor doesn't have time for some council meetings and most events, don't know how she will have time to be a good mayor.
She did everything she could to stop our chili cook off/meet the candidates just because she didn't want to be part of the questions and answers, yet if she had of chose not to take part it would have looked bad, so instead she tried to have it canceled. can you say sneaky and back stabbing? sad day.....

Buckners weren't part of the fire department, but possibly yo daddy was! From what I heard FBC Chico split over their pastor Potts. Scholarship split over superintendent. Learn your town history.

Somebody get these people a bucket to catch their tears

Anonymous said...

Whatever are we going to do without the most expensive AG facility in the state!?!? Those evil evil fiscally responsible people. How dare they not spend frivolously so we can have shiney things!!!!

Nearly 2/3rds of the town voted AGAINST the bond. Wasn't even close. Get over it and reflect on your own life why you are the clear minority in your way of thinking. Have you ever thought why you are getting your ass handed to you every single election is because your WRONG and quite possibly not as smart as you think you are?

Maybe it makes you feel better to create a "boogeyman" to blame but the reality is your just a person with limited thinking and in the minority in your way of thinking.

Did anyone else see that Allsups went up on their burritos?!? DAMN YOU BUCKNERS!!

Anonymous said...

10:00 you are such a hater!!!! Why are you giving the Buckner's so much power and credit. They are just one family in town. I have lived in Chico all my life and the Buckners had nothing to do with splitting the fire department, nor the Bapist Churck. Actually the Buckners left that church once Paster Potts ran it in the ground and split the church. So if you want to blame the failure of the church on the Buckners try again, they are not there. The school has not been split. It looks like it is finally coming back together to do what is best for our kids and the community. If you have such a problem with Mr. Buckner go to the next school board or to him and discuss. Getting on the blog stabbing him in the back and trying to slander his name is childish and immature of you. He would give you and any one else his last dime or the shirt off his back if you were in need. Find someone else to blame your problems on. Time to move on!!!!

The Buckner family has never been anything but good for the town of Chico. From supporting city events and volunteering a lot of time for the community with music for fundraisers to Mrs. Buckner who taught lots of kids now adults to play piano. Lots of ag help with livestock and a lot with 4H. Spew your inaccurate raspberries and info elsewhere where other folks that believe just because you said it it is true.

Anonymous said...

well said! thats what they get for not voting for bill.

Anonymous said...

Sad day for Rhome? Are you kidding me? It's an awesome day for Rhome. We finally got a decent Mayor. Thank you to those that voted for her and not the wicked witch of 1st street.

Anonymous said...

I don't understand what the church or fire department have to do with Chico ISD... But Congrats to all the candidates that won and although the bond did not pass maybe a new one can be presented with a more agreeable outcome. You must unite to grow.

Good job screwing the kids that want to learn a trade. U just increased the meth population by a --100 per year

Anonymous said...

3:13 - who are you even talking to or about? Chill people.

Anonymous said...

Hey, the world needs ditch diggers too!

Anonymous said...

What trade were they going to learn?

Anonymous said...

I guess those baseball moms are going to have go out and buy them a big 'ol umbrella for games. Not going to get those $300,000 canopies over the bleachers. Dang it!!

Anonymous said...

Trades can mean a skilled job, typically one requiring manual skills and special training. AG can be a big part of that.

Anonymous said...

If you're going to refer to someone as 'stupid' please learn the difference between 'your' and 'you're'. PLEASE - no more pots calling the kettles black.

Anonymous said...

Chico don't need no ag barn. They already gots a 2mil meth barn.

Anonymous said...

The students at Chico are already learning skills needed to pursue a career or college, it's called career and technology classes, and yes, Agriculture Science offers those courses. Those trade skills are taught in the classroom following the TEKS. An agriculture project Center is an extension of the classroom, a type of lab. The TEKS are already being taught in the current set up of classroom and project center. If they are not being taught, it's not a facilities issue, it's a staffing issue.

We need a new project center, but let's make it a facility that is researched for need, growth, and cost efficency.

Get ready for more tears when the "latest" news hits Chico. A resignation!!

Anonymous said...

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here...they're pretty notorious for "spewing inaccurate raspberries" about people themselves. But just because they said it it must be true....

Anonymous said...

There will be tears in Alvord too. The staff does not trust this new board and are ready to bail.

Anonymous said...

This seems like a personal opinion towards someone. Maybe you should directly speak to them instead of holding in all this hostility.

Anonymous said...

Carter is gone in Chico! He resigned!!

Anonymous said...

Joe Lynn Mowery and Randy Moss caused the fire department split. That's not an opinion, it's fact. Don't take my word, read the old Messenger articles.

Anonymous said...

Hey 2:08, let's be fair. Just because Alvord elected a guy who ran out on his kid and took 13 years to graduate over an educated experienced board member doesn't mean the staff should not trust the board. Just the ones Schedick tells the four stooges to get rid of are the ones who will shed tears. You know, the AD, MS counselor, HS principal, girls basketball coach, and any coach who has a mother who works/worked for the district.

Anonymous said...

Please Buckner clain, contain your excitement.

Anonymous said...

10:20 Well said. Fair enough.

Anonymous said...

Carter leaving is old news. People close to him knew he was planning on stepping down end of the year anyways. He just sped it up a month.

Anonymous said...

10;20 is a miserable loser that can't get past the fact that they lost the election a while back. The Schedciks are a very respected family in the community and you can't stand it because you are not. Get a life and let it go. You only make yourself look ridiculous.

Anonymous said...

Um, Respectable, let's see:

We go to the AD AS A BOARD MEMBER and ORDER him what to do/whose business to solicit;

We go to the Supt. as a BOARD member and ORDER him to spend money on Pole Vaulting poles for his kid(which I believe are no longer used);

We go to the MS Principal and ORDER him who to assign in what capacity AND;

We recruit and ENDORSE a dead-beat dad who took 13 years to graduate from public schools.

Certainly sounds respectable to me.

What people don't realize is that word gets around in these small communities, particularly when someone wants to be a recognized member of the social order in one community but tries to cram their agenda down the throats of people in another community. And the day is coming when the RESPECTABLE(?) builder is going to be outed.

Congratulations Chico, with the results of the elections in your community and ALVOID you are no longer at the top of the of the educational idiocy rankings.

-A DECATUR TAXPAYER who used to want to live in ALVOID!

Anonymous said...

Glad you're in Decatur and not in Alvord. Which makes me wonder ... why are you so worried about Alvord and Chico? Why don't you worry more about Decatur since you're a taxpayer there? Oh yes, because you're just a miserable person that has nothing better to do than stay up all hours of the night checking this blog. You're running out of Wise County cities to live in. Maybe you should try another county.

I am assuming that Lowe's Market is running a special on sour grapes this week because Chico and Alvord are full of them.

That dead beat dad you speak of has raised two wonderful young men that one is serving our country and the other is in college after graduating from Alvord. He also has a child still in the school district. The child you speak of was born 20 + years ago when he and the mother were both in high school. People make mistakes. If you knew all of the facts about the situation of 20+ years ago you wouldn't be calling him a dead beat dad. Oh yes, we all remember that you can't focus on anything but the negative. You are only hurting yourself and your health by being mean and vindictive. Realize that you lost, your buddy lost, and start a new life with some positive thoughts. Let it go and worry about you and yours for once and not everyone else. Your life will be so much better. Go ahead, try it. You might just like it.

Anonymous said...

11:20 - Pure greatness right there. And so so true. Get over it! It's over. You lost Mrs Sour Grapes. You lose. Proceed....

Anonymous said...

I'm staying away from Lowe's Marketplace until all those sour grapes are gone. Geez lady, get over it. Ridiculous

Anonymous said...

11:12 am - how about she try another Country. Not another County. That's too close.

Anonymous said...

And, yes, respectable. Look that word up when you're up at 2:00 am checking this blog. You just might learn something. Oh, my bad - you will be too busy stuffing envelopes with your pictures you took of little leaguers with flyers of the next person who's election you want to ruin. Sour grapes right there.

Lmao at this whole string of comments.

School board members really should have term limits. I think three terms (9 years) would be sufficient. Beyond that many years, members begin to feel they are the only ones who really know what is right to do. They forget there are many other intelligent folks who can also be valuable and effective board members. New blood ensures that no one gets the big head with power. And it will also ensure that elected members do what is best for the students, school, and community! I'm a retired 40+ year educator and I can assure the voters that anyone who remains on a school board more than 9 years will become a detriment instead of an asset. I've seen it happen over and over again in my career. Personally, I now make it a priority to see how long any board member who is up for re-election has served. After three terms, no matter their effectiveness, I vote against them.

8:04, No one is elected anymore. They are chosen and apathetic non-voters allow it. This is our world now.

As I sit and read comments on here and see that NO ONE wants to sign their name, truly shows who hides behind who. I, Debra Vaughn Jackson am glad to say GA Buckner as my brother in law, I am honored to have him in our family. GA has a heart of gold, sees the good in everyone, one of the most Christian men I know and has ran a successful business for many many years. To see immature residents of the town in which GA supports berate him and not be big enough to sign your name, makes me shake my head. I will offer up a forum, all of the back stabbing two faced people of Chico, that will run to Chico Butane for a donation and then slandered the family when things do not go the way the small minded wanted, enter up - step up - man up. See the thing is, one day you will be held accountable for your meanness, your back biting and awful mouths, and it will be all your own doing!!! You truly are only fooling your self righteous self's. Come out, come out and voice your hate to this mans face, he deserves that much!!!

11:37 - what's wrong with putting positive, informational fliers in a picture envelope? The local electrician paid for all of Rice's signs. Local church members sent out emails to using the church email directory. The the Meals on Wheels people took absentee ballots with instructions on who to vote for to the meal recipients. So I don't understand your offense with stuffed envelopes.

Anonymous said...

11:37, ballots don't go out with meals on wheels! Not funny.

Anonymous said...

12:36

You're right. Ballot applications go out with meals on wheels in alvord and then the meals on wheels witch "helps" them fill out the ballot when it arrives.

Anonymous said...

A witch helping is not funny and should be reported but absentee voting is being abused in a lot of places. Not right.
