Photos of the casket in the boat soon found their way to a popular Wise County blog — Liberally Lean from the Land of Dairy Queen — with the headline "How you bury a Baptist deacon who loved fishing." Curious folks wanted to know the story behind the photos.
Here it is.

awwww, Barry!!! You're getting to be FAMOUS!! Can I have your autograph?????? hmmmm???
That was a very touching story and what a fitting way for his family and friends to send Mr. Ray off. These days, the news seems to be nothing but doom-and-gloom, war, drunken celebrities, NASCAR, Dirk's girlfriend, etc. The Star-Telegram had two lovely human interest stories today: This one and the one about the anesthesiologist at Cook Children's Hospital. Kudos to the FWST writers and editors (and to you too, of course, for first reporting about Mr. Ray). Well done.
That was nice. Reminds me of my grand-daddy. Good job Barry!
Was going to say something mean and smart alec about this- then I go too choked up.
This is a friggin' awesome story. I didn't even know the man, but I kinda miss the fellow.
Barry, you do have a very creative blog and I'm glad folks in cow town are recognizing it as such.
Congratulations!
Yay! Props for Barry!
"And the paper credits local attorney Mark Howell for one photo" Ouch! And they only mentioned your blog without your name. That's got to hurt.
Hey Barry, I BUSTED A GUT laughing at this YouTube video and thought you might want to post it on your site:

Thanks for a beautiful story about a loving family and a loving final farewell until they meet again! The part where the father and son had the two hour visit is what happened to our family near the end with our mother who suffered from alzheimers. God gives us moments like these.
What a story of love, hope and family.
