Why do we care about Miss California USA? She's the Anita Bryant of our generation. I hope she lives long enough, like Anita, to see the flaws in her logic regarding gays.
If more states would use public funds to pay for boob jobs i don't think there would be so much bruhaha over the state of the economy. The Bible does teach, both old and new testaments, that homosexuality is a sin. But if you don't want to involve the Bible, then forget it. The law of the land proclaims that marriage can only be between a man and a woman, except in 5 states now. And the majority of the population agrees with this definition. That is the end of story. Their civil rights are not violated as they proclaim. The law of marriage as thus defined applies to everyone equally, regardless of sexual orientation. So, the mud-packers need to back off and leave definition alone. We do not want to change it.
Think of it as a secular marriage rather than a religious marriage.
Seriously, I wouldn't want my government telling me I can't marry someone I love, why should that right be denied to someone else? If God doesn't like it then that's between them and God, not them and you.

Exacttly the point - The New Testament says nothing about homosexuality, except for Paul's teachings (not Jesus) and Paul also says you should not divorce, re-marry, heck he doesn't even recommend marriage very highly.
The key words to some of you who take it way too far and try fear tactics implying gay marriage would lead to sex with animals -that's just crazy; it sounds too stupid to even write -, etc. is that our point is it's all between CONSENTING ADULTS.
Being gay is who you are, not a lifestyle choice. Could any of you bigots CHOOSE to be gay? No, of course not, because you aren't gay. Gays that try to be straight, do so because of the pressure from society, but at some point in their lives they can't maintain the charade any longer and come out. Or their forced out because they are caught buying gay sex.... or they just remain stifled by the haters.
