I Like This Guy

You can stop watching after the "noun and a verb" line, but that line was golden. I had forgotten about that. I'll give Biden a thumbs up. The Democratic Convention is this week, and I bet Obama's speech at Mile High Stadium on Thursday night will be a scene*. (And I'll probably watch it live unless Baylor hangs around and makes the Wake Forest game interesting. Yeah, I'll probably watch it live.) __________ *Scene n. (sn) Defined as an event that is pretty cool or inspiring. (i.e. "I hung out with that guy at Sundance Square one night and women were all over him. Man, he's got a scene going on.")

Biden was a good pick. It gives Obama experience that critics say he lacks.

I'm anxious to see who McCain picks. He needs youth more than anything. A young charismatic guy that can pick up the reins if McCain can't finish his term.

I'm thinking Mitt Romney.

You'll give him a "thumbs up"?

Geez......I'm so glad I turned out the way I did.

I'd sooner watch Baylor get roached on the football field by a basketball school than to even acknowledge the democratic party will be taking up airspace.

You could have a drinking game during his speech where you take shots whenever Obama uses the words "hope" and "change." You'll be hopelessly drunk by the end of the speech.

Good thing for "change" that he picked a VP that's only been in DC for thirty-five years. Nixon was President when Biden took office.

Same old Democrat ticket. Nothing new or different.

Biden good for nothing if not for a sound bite.

In September 1987, the campaign ran into serious trouble when he plagiarized a speech by Neil Kinnock, then-leader of the British Labour Party.

Kinnock’s speech included the lines:

Why am I the first Kinnock in a thousand generations to be able to get to university? Then pointing to his wife in the audience, he continued: Why is Glenys the first woman in her family in a thousand generations to be able to get to university? Was it because all our predecessors were thick?

While Biden’s speech included the lines:

I started thinking as I was coming over here, why is it that Joe Biden is the first in his family ever to go to a university? Then, pointing to his wife, he continued: Why is it that my wife who is sitting out there in the audience is the first in her family to ever go to college? Is it because our fathers and mothers were not bright? Is it because I'm the first Biden in a thousand generations to get a college and a graduate degree that I was smarter than the rest?

I really don't like this guy because he has really bad hair and talks too much! Being a Democrat who supported Hillary, Obama choice will cost him the election. Hillary on the ticket would be a win for him.

Obama can't say he is for change now. If he wanted change he wouldn't have picked another senator that has been there forever!

Michelle starts off the convention tonight and I don't think I want to listen to her.

McCain gets my vote this November and I think he will not make a bad choice in his V.P.

The DNC pushed Obama as the candidate over Hillary shooting themselves in the foot for taking back the White House.

McCain is going to win by taking Michigan, Ohio and Colorado. It will be close but voters are going with their gut in deciding and they can't trust Obama.

And the decision to go to the stadium for the acceptance speech just plays into the rock star no substance image of Obama. I hope it rains. Obama won't be able to hold his nose up in the air and speak. He is so arrogant and full of himself.

Also, Obama's sister is going to speak. At least they are leaving the militant brother back in Kenya and not bringing him over.

turdy, all i can say is you should be thankful obammy did pick joe biten for vp..cause as you well know it's all about the numbers in the end, and had he picked hrc it would have been very difficult for (R) to win in november..remember the old sayin, "DON;T LOOK A GIFT HORSE IN THE MOUTH"...!

So much for 7:46 pm and 6:18 am slamming Wordkyle. Read 7:26 am and weep! Many Democrats feel betrayed by their own party, won't vote for Obama, and I don't blame them. And by the way, 7:46 pm, your comment didn't even remotely make sense. Wordkyle wasn't "wishing" for anything, just stating some facts, and some pretty valid opinions.

618 - I'll bet you that I'm not from Wise County.

You appear to be misinformed in more than one area.

850 - We'll never know, but I believe that if Obama had chosen Mrs. Clinton that McCain would have won in a landslide.

Americans might be ready to try something new, but I don't think that they would elect a ticket with the first black AND the first woman, regardless of their party affiliation. Voters would get skittish. Plus, Hillary is one of the most polarizing Democrats ever. She would mobilize the Conservatives like nothing else could.
