Ok, the above chart represents the "structurally deficient" bridges in Wise County as released today by TxDot. Click to enlarge. The lower the number at the end, the worse it is. The Minnesota bridge that recently collapsed was rated at 50 in 2005. Does it mean your bridge will fall down tomorrow? Probably. So stay home. The full pdf report is here.

Could all these be called the bridges to nowhere?
You did fail to mention Mr. Green that the bridge in Minnesota had 48 'over limit weight' permits issused in the past year, those that actually filed for permits. That was over 72tons each trip. Average that weight and with the traffic over the bridge, go figure.
We had a crew working on that bridge when it went down, they were to be there at 730pm. We were doing the grinding on the concrete after it dried.
there are many fingers to point, but not just as yet. The state knew that the bridge was in need of repair. Be thankful that 2 lanes out of 4 were closed in both directions when it went down.
But then, there are so many of them that need repair.
Please pray for the families that have lost loved ones in this disaster.
Just to be safe I called in and left a message that Barry says it's not safe to leave the house.
I wonder what those 2 wooden deck bridges that used to be over the Trinity near Bridgeport Country Club would have scored... -30?
Let's get those bridges sanded immediately, roll the local news trucks as well.
I like it when the TxDOT person do not consider a "structurally deficient" bridge as "unsafe"! "I don't care who you are--that's funny right there!"
How old is this list? two have been replaced, Derrett Creek and Old Greenwood Road.
