The Little League World Series is going on over at ESPN, and I basically stay confused by it. There's a ton of teams from a ton of countries, and I'm not exactly sure how a team gets there to start with. I suppose there's more to it than paying a $100 entry fee and loading up a bunch of kids in a minivan.Anyway, this kid made a home run stealing catch for the last out of the game to secure Walpole, Mass's first win. Walpole? But the sad thing about it is that this kid is 12. If that happened to me at 12, that would have been the high point of my life. It all would have gone downhill from there.

Ms. Collectionsite is from Walpole Mass. Charming little town 45 min West of Bean Town.
Small home town feeling were every one knows each other. Much like Decatur but very Yankee also home of the state prison so you dont pick up hitch hikers.
That would be an interesting case study: How many Little League Stars progressed to be Major League Stars?
Or even PeeWee Football Stars?
I'll have to correct Mr. Collectionsite - Walpole is 20 miles south of Boston. A Charming town indeed.
There have been several Little League champ players make it to the majors. However, the ratio is not very impressive. I think some 40% of current major league rosters are from Latin America and the Caribbean Islands. Taiwan won a long series of these championships but I don't recall a single player from there making the majors. Yup, it’ll be the highlight of several of these boys’ lives.
Do not pick up hitch hikers with finger nail clippers.
The teams get there by competing through a series of elimination tournaments. I think most of the teams are made up of All-Star teams from the area they represent.
