From another blog:
Many of you no doubt know about the shooting outside a club this past weekend [in downtown Dallas]. You may have even read in the DMN, that Lil' Jon's 'Put Yo Hood Up' was to blame. Or, as Steve Blow writes, "This time the link between the music and the dead is irrefutable."
It's quite refutable, says Michael Davis. He says the song was on after the fight."
And if you want to see the lyrics to "Put Yo Hood Up", just click
here. But don't if you are easily offended.

A lot of people do. And are. Perhaps a nice, big house in the quiet, country club area of McKinney would be safer? Stab, stab, stab, stab, stab, stab, stab, stab, stab, stab, stab, stab, stab, stab, stab, stab, stab, stab, stab, stab, stab, stab, stab, stab, stab, stab, stab? No, that doesn't sound good either. Let's get out of the Metroplex and move to a safer, more rural and friendly place. Like Bridgeport or Decatur. Look, there's a nice house, I think I'll stop and EEEEEEEEEE, CRASH, BANG, FLIP, FLIP, FLIP, WHOOMP, THUMP THUD. You and your family are dead. Mangled mess on the road. A part of the "who's been killed in Wise County today by a drunk driver who just left the kiddie porn convention on his way to score some crystal meth.
When I represent my hood I flash up 7 fingers and say, "Seven WIRES represent!"
The link between Steve Blow and terrible journalism/writing is irrefutable.
Thanks for linking to my blog!
I am a 32-year old African-American that writes about a lot of things that focus on Dallas. Feel free to "drop by" and check us out.
And I agree with the Steve Blow comment.
