"Recall the summer of 1980, when 69 days – 42 of them in a row – hit 100 degrees or more. Two of those were a record 113 degrees. " - Dallas Morning News
And the average maximum temperature for July was 105.3 degrees.
What a beating. And, boy, was it.

It was VERY VERY Hot that summer. But wasnt life so much better then. The Fort Worth TCU scene was the place to be :)
Man. That was the one summer I worked for the Highway Dept. during college. Try standing there and watching other people work in that heat. Man that was tough. LOL. I also went to the Willie Nelson picnic that summer. That was hot too...in many ways.
Since we seem to be going down memory lane, I was in the seventh grade spending my days at the lake singing another one bites the dust and wondering who was having the next slumber party. Don't remember a heat wave though!
I helped a friend move furniture from Waco, TX to San Marcos, TX. His car was not air-conditioned, and the electricity was not turned on in the apartment. THAT WAS HOT WORK!!!
Is there a worse job than roofer or asphalt worker in this heat? What's your choice of worst job?
