Amazing stat:
The average family income of the top 5% of Texans is $203,174
The average family income of the bottom 20% of Texans is $14,724
That gap is the 2nd largest in the nation (we are behind Arizona).

Yeh really? So how much do you make? I pay a lot of taxes myself and am not too happy about giving it away for purposes I don't approve. The gap between those who have and those who have not can be breached by work and education. So, while they're working at Mickey D's, trying to make enough to pay for junior college, let them eat cake. I did and just look at me now! Not only do I look good, but I've got money in pocket. The old-fashioned way: I earned it.
Don't you understand conservative economics? It DID trickle down. See, you can only affect so many when the lower group is 20% and the upper group is only 5%. Now if the lower group were only 10%, then the trickle down would have a greater effect because there would be fewer for the trickle down to benefit.
This is a statistical manipulation. Means nothing. In Arizona, for example, you have a substantial native american population, in Texas a substantial immigrant population. drive the data to skewed percentanges and big gaps. For example, if a street with 10 homes worth 100,000 each saw the addition of a home worth a million (maybe at the end of the street up on the hill)...the average home value on that street becomes $182 thousand...yet there's not a single home on that street anywhere that remotely resembles a $182 thousand home.
The Wall Street Journal just did a good article on the economic policies that Reagan put in place and how they have helped right our national economy. The article was titled "Morning in America".
That said, I would agree that lawyers charging $100 to $500 per hour can't complain about the lowest 20% too much
There has been a economic war upon the Middle Class America waged by the Republican Party. We are almost now extinct. All you lower income hard working people of Wise County Keep voting Republican ... I know whats the "Trickle Down Economy" has done for me and that is not "Rain" on my Back. Ask yourself ~ Are you richer & safer over the Last 6 years?

That was so naive.

Let me just say that there by the grace of God go ANY of us... be careful with the pride.
Poverty is a VERY hard thing to get out of.

Is that statistics that involve legal citizens only, or you including illegal aliens? You statistics could easily be skewed.
