Yahoo! News Washington Bureau Chief Has Had A Bad Day

A "hot mic" picks up him saying “They aren’t concerned at all,” in reference to the Romneys at the Republican National Convention. “They are happy to have a party with black people drowning.”

By the afternoon, he's fired

As well as he should be.

Good for the execs at Yahoo.

Shocked they fired him, the lib media doesn't even try to hide their bias anymore.

A good rule of thumb for the media is keep your hot, snarky political opinions to yourself. Another maxim is every mike is a hot mike. I guess they don't teach those things in J-School anymore.

Chris Matthews should be fired too.
His hate for Romney and his racist accusations probably stirred something in this guy to make him feel justified to make these comments.

Given that 8 years ago Romney was pro-choice, pro-gay and anti-gun, I'm not real clear on what his true convictions are. Historically, he's very socially liberal--only "evolving" into a social conservative in an attempt to get elected as conservative.

Regardless, Romney is not evil, seems to care about people even if he can't relate to them, and the Yay-hoo from Yahoo needed to be relieved of his job as a journalist for being biased.

It's a start.

LIBERAL MEDIA! LIBERAL MEDIA!

Sounds like the things you typically hear behind closed doors in the Wise County Messenger newsroom.

He only got fired because he got caught. This is what they all say when they think they are off mic. Yahoo and ABC needed to save face.

How are conservatives supposed to have a fighting chance in elections when the entire media (except FOX) believes that they are truly evil?!?!?!

when did Kanye start working for Yahoo! News?

I've been using a new account at Yahoo the past few months and noted a strong liberal bias. I didn't need an open mic at the convention to know what side Yahoo supports. So they got caught and fired a bureau chief who was just voicing the company line, so what? Think anything will change because of it? The media is in the bag.

In a way, I'm glad this happened because it demonstrates the bias......but in another way, I regret that it happened this early in the election, because now the media will make the extra effort to conceal their bias (it'll still be obvious, just more thinly veiled).

I'm still not happy about the moderators chosen for the presidential and vice presidential debates! These people are going to come at Romney/Ryan from the left (including Ft. Worth, Texas' own Bob Schieffer, who wouldn't know objectivity if it bit him in his wrinkly old rear end).

You do all realize Momonism's history with people of color, right? The whole "Seed of Cain" bullshit and the Lamanites? How they are cursed by the Devil and that the "negro are not equal with other races" and other glorious teachings? If not, go read up. Many of the racist commenters of this blog will probably sign up with the LDS in a heartbeat. ;)

So, yeah, that guy with the hot mic was just giving a reasonable opinion.

Looks like they're off to a good start.

Is Obammy playing golf today while black people drown?

Adios, mofo.

What was expected of Romney? He's not like, the President or anything.

Where is B. O.? He sure as hell isn't in NOLA, and actually, he would be supremely stupid to be there right now.

Renault: I’m shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in this establishment.
Employee of Rick's: [hands Renault money] Your winnings, sir.
Renault: Oh, thank you, very much. Everybody out at once!

A liberal fired? Unheard of!!

Anonymous said...

Same ol' media, different day! Now why can't we discuss relevant issues again?

If one single black person ever drowns in another NOLA hurricane post Katrina... well I'd have to say it was George Bush's fault. I give Obama and Romney a pass, we all know Bush created Katrina, and probably Isaac. I mean, hurricanes weren't really a problem there before Bush. I wonder when Yahoo and MSNBC and CNN will stoop to that level!

3:44 ALL religions have the same bad scenarios.

Did you look into the Islamic religion before making your claim since that is Obama's or are you someone on the left trying to make Mr. and Mrs. Romney look bad.

3:44 - You're an idiot, and here's why.

Your assertion that this commentator was giving a "reasonable opinion" is without merit and outright stupid.

By your standard, I could say that because someone is a Christian, that mean it would be reasonable to believe they want all non-Christians to convert ordie...in the name of God.

I point this out because, "Christians" killed hundreds of thousands of non-Christian, in the name of God, during the cruisades.

So, before you get all high an mighty because you read a wikipedia page on Mormonism and learned some of their professed history, you might want to consider that Mormons are the only religion that has discriminated or killed in the name of their God.

Just got off of Yahoo, nothing on this story, just some BS story about a black CNN camera person claiming that the people at the RNC threw nuts at her and said this is how we feed animals. Story sounds a little contrived if you ask me.

This tool mouthed about the wrong person wanting black people to drown.

Isaac happened HOURS ago! Where's the "feel good" speech from Obama to Louisiana?

Anonymous said...

If it's all about black people why do those on the left call blacks who are Republican/Conservative horrible names?

Anonymous said...

I am a senior citizen Democrat, but outraged at that comment. The Romneys are good decent people. Such a comment is disgusting. All of this back and forth bickering whether it be press related or political is hurtful to the image of America. Mature people WORK together and GET ALONG.

This all needs to stop. We can start by having civil political conversations and act like mature adults.

What must other countries think of our stupid childish behavior?

The Republicans hate the black people on the other side of the tracks in Decatur. Why would this comment suprise anyone?

Anonymous said...

Again - recognize that the Mormon religion considers the black race inferior. Romney is Mormon. Whatcha think Romney believes? Who's a bigot?

Anonymous said...

no one has done more to enslave the blacks in america than the democrats.

and the democrats got what they wanted the black vote, but drive through new orleans and you will see what its costing them.

If blacks spent less time being racist and more time trying to better themselves as a Republican or Conservative black does then maybe they would get somewhere in life other than sucking on government boobies.

Don't be the problem, be the solution!

That goes for EVERYONE in the good ole USA.

Most agree welfare folks should get down to work. But some can't or won't. OK should we cut them all off? What about their innocent children or parents that depend on them? Is your church going to take care of them? Should government take the dependants away? Just how draconian should we get? Should we sterilize unmarried mothers? Jail the deadbeats? C'mon - let's hear your solutions?

5:03 Education and lots of it on making good life decisions.

Simple. Unfortunately, for these people, gowing up is hard to do.

Anonymous said...

Sorry but education is a long term investment. What do you do with dependant of those being educated? What about the stupid or lazy? The little kids and old parents are penalized while the subject is educated? How about thoughtful solutions not Republican sound bites.

8:54 I feel so sorry for you. It's so sad to see someone with such a "I can't" attitude. People like you are why so many people are on welfare.
