Snow!

Like you don't know this already: It's snowing big time! I don't ever remember walking to the courthouse through three inches of snow only to have those footprints covered when I walk back one hour later. And, amazingly, the courthouse has a docket, a trial, and a grand jury actually going on this morning. That's crazy. I'm guessing 6 inches before noon. Edit: Most snow in one day in the history of ever? Pete Delkus says that the record snowfall for any 24 hour period in DFW is 7 1/2 inches.

Well, if it can't stop the mail delivery, why should it stop the wheels (scales?) of justice? Them scumbags need convictin', dammit!

Yeah, and the folks need their share of other people's money, so let's all go find someone to sue when life hits us with a big one!

I left three tracks in the snow getting to my car. Women love me.

There will be a Global Warming Symposium today at 3:00pm at the Decatur Civic Center, room 3B. See ya there!!1

Does anybody know the road conditions around Decatur? What about in town?

Anonymous said...

Drove to work in Decatur this am. Roads are fine, contrary to what the alarmists might tell you. Just drive slowly and leave yourself extra time to stop, as a little slick in places.

We have about 8 inches on the ground west of Paradise and it is snowing hard now.

10:35-pretty bad road conditions, not completely icy, but pretty bad, if u get out, just be careful

Snow isn't the only thing piling up around here...

Sorry, but nobody can give a report on the road conditions...none of the roads can be seen because of all the snow covering them

This just in: the Global Warming Symposium scheduled for today has been postponed due to unusual and excessive snow accumulation

It's why we have a system for deciding fault and compensation-and such a system has been around for thousands of years. It's in the Old Testement of the Bible, and it's mentioned in The Odyssey of Homer. People don't geneally step forward and say "Wow, I did something that really messed with your life. Let me make recompense for that."

If this snow keeps falling we could lose power. For those of you on well water (electric pump) you might want to fill your bathtub for flushing toilets and draw up some for drinking if you don't have a supply of bottled water. And put a full charge on your cell phones. Sorry about being so bossy.

Anonymous said...

I can charge my phone in the truck.
Thanks. Flush toilets? How 'bout yellow snow? Conservation and all that. And beer resists freezing. Tastes better than bathtub water too. I just wish I would have harvested my weed sooner. I can't find it under all this damn white powder

Or you could just buy a backup generator.

Yeah, I measured him at 6 inches.

Oh wait..you were talking about the snow weren't you?

Roads are BAD in Decatur. We were out in 4 wheel drive and still going sideways at times. Cars are stranded on the side of the roads.

I don't know about the highways, just the roads in town.

Just the same - Isn't it absolutely beautiful??????

Love it, love it.

LOts of great snowmen around town.

My lights/power just blinked. I think I will fill my bathtub.

Mess has a good photo of mail carrier off the roadway, running over a mailbox and holding a copy of the paper.

Just to set the record straight...

Jackie Murphree/society was accorded "JUSTICE" when Betty Ann Monroe was sentenced, after she plead guilty to intoxication assault. With the current civil suit, Jackie Murphree is attempting to achieve financial compensation for the damages she incurred as a result of the accident with, intoxicated driver, Betty Ann Monroe.

Anonymous said...

mzchief,

Monroe was not served "JUSTICE" when she was sentenced....she should have to suffer the same way that Jackie now suffers! Money means nothing to Jackie and the compensation that she may receive will simply allow for her parents to provide the best care possible that she will require for the rest of her life!

If the heaviest caucasian-documented snowfall in DFW area history does not translate to a "snow day" for area schools, why even have snow days? Change the term to "ice days", since that's the primary consideration.

I'm sure lots of people in the Metroplex will complain to Oncor about losing power due to fallen tree limbs, then later they'll complain when Oncor tries to cut back tree limbs to prevent people from losing power due to fallen tree limbs.

Anonymous said...

Wow.... REALLY, Mzchief? We didn't know that!

Great Picture!

Did Joe Duty Take It?

Just because you do not agree with the sentence given to Monroe does not mean it was not "JUSTICE." Incidentally, I completely agree that 10 years probation is absolute BS and am outraged, due to the lifetime of suffering and loss of freedom that will be endured by Murphree as a result of her injuries, Monroe was not required to serve, at least, 3 years in prison. However, according to the law, "JUSTICE" was served. Keep in mind, if you adhere to the belief of an eye for an eye type of "JUSTICE" there would come a time that 1/2 the population, if not the entire population, would be, at least, 1/2 blind.

Blame the DA and judge for accepting a plea that so obviously favoured the defendant albeit a plea that was within the confines of "JUSTICE."

WOW!
Are you REALLY so blinded by jealousy/stupidity that you were unable to take note that I addressed my comment to someone who was/is not aware of the fact?

I realize stupid and blind jealousy of me is your normal state of mind but you would do well to attempt to alter your state of mind or, to use the term of another commentor, STFU.

Direct TV does not work with a foot of snow on the dish. I cleaned it off with a long pole. My full sized truck is a ski slope, covered with snow from the roof all the way across the hood and grill to the ground. And this is Wise County!
