Funky Cold

I'm not sure who Public Policy Polling is, but the group/company/entity released some polling numbers today on the Texas governor's race that are all over the news: Rick Perry 39% Kay Bailey Hutchison 28% Debra Medina 24% Those are some interesting numbers. There will be a runoff between the two top candidates assuming no one gets 50.1% of the vote or more in the March primary. If Medina were to overtake Hutchison, it gets a little crazy in a Perry/Medina runoff. Anyone want to place any bets in that race where voter turnout will, historically speaking, be low? And a couple of weeks back, I called Medina a Libertarian. And even thought she is running as a Republican, she is a Libertarian at heart (she has been a huge Ron Paul supporter.)

Thanks for using my funk ko line.

I urge all Democrats to vote for Medina in the republican primary.
The Democratic primary is already decided. We don't need Perry or Hutchison to lead Texas.

I urge all liberal weenies to vote for Shami. We need a conservative to lead Texas.

Should Medina get to the runoff she will beat Perry. I don't know why the Republiks are splitting over Perry and Hutchinson, but there has to be a story there.

Medina will benefit greatly from "throw the rascals out" mentality.

I'm not sure if you consider it a pejorative that Medina's a Libertarian and Ron Paul supporter, but in my book, that's a good thing.

Stop voting for incumbents regardless of race, party, or gender, or keep bending over and taking it without the K-Y. We present, you decide.

Double-fake Mr. Democracy

Medina's idea of doing away with exceeding property taxes and implement a basically a usage tax for all persons is a great idea. It will tax not only property owners, but renters, illegal immigrants, basically all users of our Texas Government.

Perry and Hutchinson both are doing nothing to keep the illegals out.

Yes 10:44 it will tax all but the rich thank you.

10:44 that is the way it should be, instead of all the property owners paying for everybody elses kids!

Medina has my vote. Perry is haunted by Trans Texas Corridor and Hutchison is haunted by voting for the bailout. In a run-off Medina will beat Perry and win in November over Bill White. It is TEA party time in Texas.

Is that photo of the old lady the same image in the 'scream' poster?

I'm keeping my kids away from the ol' lady.

As a Libertarian/Constitutionalist, you can bet your last dollar I will vote for Debra Medina. Everyone hissing and spitting about term limits has it within their power to enforce term limits by refusing to, no more than once, re-elect ANY candidate. Perry and Hutchison are career politicians who have, for far too long, done what is in their best interest rather than what is in the best interest of the people who elected them.

Time for a REAL change.

VOTE MEDINA

I'm voting Medina!!!

Vote the career politicos out. Medina will get my vote.

Hadn't really heard of Medina until after the first debate. Watched the second debate and if you did that there's no way you could walk away supporting Perry or Hutchison. Talk about career politicians doing the spin and blame and having no real ideas how the real world works. She's definitely got my vote!

Oh and by the way 6:48--last time I checked rich people had more money to spend on stuff than poor people--so I guess they will be paying their share of the tax!

Not often do I see a reference to Tone Loc on the blog.

Good job, Barrister.

agree w/10:31
after two terms, they learn how to steal. and they get really good at it.
vote out all incumbents.

Rich people don't pay taxes they just raise their prices. Taking money away from the people who sign the paychecks is a stupid approach to prosperity. The rich already support the Democrat rank and file with regard to income taxes...California, New York, and New Jersey are running the rich out of their states by over taxing them...Texas isn't that stupid...are we?

I'm thinkin about opening a big Banjo factory on the border and was wonderin which candidate would be in favor of this venture.

Can somebody tell me somethin?

Voting Medina. Kay is Washington insider and we do not need that here. Perry is an ass. Remember the video of him with the state trooper who pulled him over. All Perry could say was, "Do you know who I am"? What a jerk.

These are three pretty poor candidates. Unfortunately, any of them will probably beat a very competent Bill White only because he has a D after his name. What a poor reason to vote for or against any candidate.

6:40am Are you saying the rich don't buy things? It's a consumption tax. Those who buy the most and the most expensive things pay the most in taxes. Usually, that's the rich. Hello, anyone home?

10:36, Every time I buy something, I tell the clerk I am rich and they don't charge me taxes. You should try it. There is such a brainthrust in Wise County.
