So Much Crap Out There

Got this in an email.

First, he wasn't sworn in with the "Quran." And the rest of all that blue print is silly. He has never been involved in any controversy regarding the Pledge of Allegiance. On one occasion, he was seen not placing his hand over his heart during the National Anthem (not the Pledge) which isn't a controversy at all since the vast majority of people don't do anything other than remove their hats.

Edit: My buddy Keith sent this link which is a compilation of all the lies about Obama.

What land are you living in? The majority of people do nothing but remove their hat??? I see people remove their hat and place it over their heart and if they are not wearing a hat the place their hand over there heart. Looks like you tipped your hand on who you will be voting for. Liberal weenies.

I agree with Barry - most people I see at ballgames, which is where I hear the national anthem played, face the flag, but do not put their hands over their hearts. What difference does it make? To say putting your hand over your heart is patriotic and standing facing the flag is not patriotic is ridiculous.
People must really fear Obama is going to win, because so many have resorted to silliness at best, and outright lies at worse. I always wonder - do they know that's not true or are they just stupid and believe everything they read on a mass email from who-knows-where?

For Liberals to act outraged over lies and rumor being spread about their politician is breathtakingly dishonest.

Think about the number of false rumors told about the Bush administration. When one is disproved -- as I have done for years on this blog -- the response is "Yeah, but what about --?" And then another pops up. The validity of the claim is not pertinent; being able to keep up a conveyor belt of lies and innuendo is the goal.

I don't spread lies about Obama because the truth is just as bad. But for Liberals to act all indignant over this....sheesh.

i fear that obama will win. your right 11:55.

hillary and bill are only bent on theyr own power and reputation. but barak hates america, just look up black liberation theology on google. he embraces it and even though he has denounced his pastor he only did it after he had no choice.

only a fool would raise any tax in this economy, unless his motive was to harm the american economy.

he represents the worst of america, those who think government can save them and that soking the rich will help them feel better at the pump.

"I am part of all that I have met" from Tennyson's "Ulysses" is one of the few things I remember from my forced introduction to poetry. However, I do believe that it is true and I have to apply it to Obama's close associations with the racists Louis Farrakhan, Jeremiah Wright, et al. Did any of you let your children hang with bad kids because you did not want them to grow up judging others by who they were associated with? Asking me to not judge Obama by his minister and his friends goes against everything I ever learned about people.

I vote for separation of ACLU and America. The ACLU is the King of Antagonism; annoying.

I think it is funny that people insist that he is a Muslim and with the next sentence complain about the pastor at his Christian church.

And as for the pledge - this cspan junkie watched several times (before he was busy running for president) when he started off the senate day as designated presiding officer and stood behind the desk facing the flag with his hand over his heart leading the Pledge of Allegiance.

But heck why state facts when innuendo and misinformation can be emailed around the world in seconds.

Wordkyle,

Seriously, you think spreading rumors about getting sworn in on the Koran are the same as legitimate questions about why a sitting President said a country was full of WMDs that it wasn't?

Man, suckers like you are the reason we end up in places like Iraq in the first place.

Xanthippas said...

Lovelit,

I vote for the separation of people like you from America. Since you are apparently so casually willing to surrender the freedoms that people at the ACLU defend, you should not at all mind living in a more restrictive but secure location...like Iran, or perhaps Saudi Arabia.

wordkyle said...

212 - You've gotta be kidding.

For seven years, Democrats still angry about Florida 2000 have called Bush a draft dodger, cokehead, drunkard, idiot, liar, coward....

Democrats have spread rumors and innuendo implying illicit activity by Bush with Enron, Halliburton, the Trilateral Commission, Skull and Bones, Illuminati, One World Government, Jack Abamoff, Valerie Plame, 9/11, Supreme Court, Osama bin Laden, Saddam Hussein....

The elipses represent my fingers getting tired from typing, not an end to the stupidity spread about Bush. And the media is part of the dogpile (e.g., Dan Rather.)

Yes, I think the news about Obama is EXACTLY like what Democrats have been doing for seven years. The only difference is that the media is protecting Obama instead of victimizing him. It's disingenuous to act astonished when it happens to your politician. (And that's what Obama is, a politician -- nothing more or less.)

I'll toss in something Ann Coulter wrote, since it makes Liberal brains (oxymoron) explode: George W. Bush will be remembered as a GREAT president. If anyone had said on September 12, 2001 that there would not be another terrorist attack on American soil for seven years, Americans would have said it would take a miracle. Thank George W. Bush for that miracle.

You might want give FactCheck a closer look. They have corrected Obama plenty but it's not their fault if he tells less lies than the others.

wordkyle said...

257 - I did check out FactCheck. I actually have it bookmarked.

Interested parties can go to FC, search "Obama" and "Election 2007-2008" and decide for themselves if the site is an Obama defender.

Ontheissues gives actual votes and quotes.

Obama will have us sitting at the terrorist feet with our korans in hand. Can't any of you liberals see through this guy I mean come on how blind can you be is your pocket book all your worried about isn't that the root of all EVIL wake up!! vote for some one with some morals and with some convictions. I mean come on where as America gone? To sleep

Anonymous said...

Thanks Wordkyle. I can make good use of OntheIssues to prove that no matter how much McCain tries to distance himself from Bush he voted with him the vast majority of the time. Hence the nickname McSame.

Before you arrogantly instruct me, I know that Bush does not actually vote. He just tries like all hell to influence the votes.

I'll stay where I am, thank you. It is called the AMERICAN Civil Liberties Union, yet the positions they take on so many issues are not representative of us all. They should be called Some Americans Civil Liberties Union. If I subscribed to their train of thought I'd be demanding equal rights for everyone, everywhere. I believe that certain rights are forfeited under certain circumstances. They don't make those exceptions. Also, from a christian standpoint...they come across as anti-God. Go 'head, let 'er rip.

Obama will bring partial abortions back. That is wrong!!! My vote will go to the other candidate.

wordkyle said...

332 - If you look at the facts and the issues and make up your own mind, then great. I've got no problem with an informed citizenry.

McCain's no favorite of mine, and I think he is wrong on a host of issues, but my opinion of him is not based on those times he voted with the President.

However, I do think that America will be safer with him as President than with Obama.

Congratulations on studying the issues and deciding for yourself. (Assuming you did that.) It's refreshing to see a Democrat who's not enthralled by the Obama aura.

During the anthem, whether or not we have our own hands on our hearts, I know where the Republican hands are: In *your* wallet. Every second of every day, their insane theories about economics and taxation cost us all. If you earn less than $200K a year, you can't afford the down payment on buying their line of bullsh*t. You can't even put that bullsh*t on layaway.

This petty dime-store patriot crap is their pathetic attempt at distracting from the 800 lb gorilla in the room. IT'S THE ECONOMY, STUPID!

We must drill that into the skulls of distracted voters every chance we get. If we have to tattoo it on Britney's bald you-know-what, this message must get across. If we have to inject it into baseball players or sing it on American Idol, this is what we must talk about.

Good economics will solve just about damn near every problem you can think of, anywhere in the world. People who have jobs and can put food on the table and be fulfilled and content don't start wars. They don't commit crimes nearly as much. They don't have as many abortions. They pay their bills and don't default on their mortgages. They pay their taxes without bitching and moaning. They can afford to do what's right and buy quality products made in America. They can afford to buy food that was organically grown and pesticide free. They can afford to buy cars and houses and appliances that conserve energy. They can afford to spend more time with their children, and take vacations instead of spending more time in their work and taking anti-depressants. They can afford health care to stay productive. They can afford to donate to charities and do societal good. They can afford a good college education for their children.

Republicans think that it's OK if the rich get richer while the rest of our economy swirls around the toilet bowl one last time because at least "the average is going up". It's the same twisted logic as sticking your head in the refrigerator and your ass in the oven and saying that on average "you feel just fine".

I know just where I want to stick that flagpole, and believe me, they won't feel like saluting when I'm done. And just because nobody does me the favor when I go to the grocery store or fill up my tank these days, they can forget about the courtesy of some KY or Astroglide. It's friggin Giuliani time, a**sholes!

Anonymous said...

So, let me get this correct:

You approve of OntheIssues.org because you like that it gives the actual votes only you don't use the actual votes to make up your mind about a political candidate. Damn interesting!

To me it matters not what they say because they can say anything. It only matters how they vote. McCain has voted with Bush and his party 90+% of the time. How's that working for ya, Folks?

Anonymous said...

the only reason you have any civil liberties in USA is because of patriots who fought and died so you could enjoy the rights bestowed by our founding forefathers and the good Lord Jesus to be able to live in the greatest country ever to exist on this planet in all of human history. We must continue to fight and die to protect this great ideal that all Americans are equal...not our enemies!!!!!!!!

wordkyle said...

409 - Your passion is admirable, if misplaced. You're mindlessly repeating the bill of goods you've been sold.

Using data from the IRS economist Dr. Thomas Sowell shares this bit of info: People in the bottom fifth of income-tax filers in 1996 had their incomes increase by 91 percent by 2005.

The top one percent -- your "rich" -- saw their incomes decline by 26 percent.

Your utopian ideal of economic equality is great. You paint a rosy picture of what we all could do if we had the money. How do you propose to achieve this economic paradise?

Conservative capitalists believe that economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise. (Thanks to the Jaycees for that phrase.)

Socialist Democrats believe that the government should take money from those who produce and redistribute it among those who do not; i.e., the opposite of "free enterprise."

People make their own choices about how they spend their money. Some people make good choices and become wealthy, while others make poor choices and become poor. Do you recommend that we take that choice away?

(My own belief: If we took all the money everyone had and distributed it equally among all Americans, in two years the poor would be poor again and the wealthy would be wealthy again. All because of choices.)

Anonymous said...

I like what you say 4:09. The "rich" conservatives on this board who do not depend upon "government handouts" such as Social Security and Medicare - will never grasp what most of us are dealing with - high gasoline prices that pad the pockets of Bush cronies - he wants these dudes to be really really rich before he gets out of office....and higher food prices.
Go to the bank, you greedy Republicans, deposit your oil checks and rant and rave about the rest of us who are having a difficult time.

What is Christian about greed?

Nothing!

don't forget how much money is going to war profiteers in Iraq. Huge amounts, hundreds of billions.

This is money we could be applying to reduce taxes (or have a smaller tax increase). It is being almost completely wasted in Iraq.

Think of all the money we are pouring into rebuilding Iraq's infrastructure (a good deal of which was damaged from bombing during the war). We could be using that money for U.S. infrastructure improvements. Or lower taxes!

I am tired of our money going to Iraq. Maybe if being in Iraq made oil (and gasoline) cheaper, it might be worth it to continue to pour money into Iraq. But it doesn't, and it isn't.

Jarhead is better here than on his own blog. Me too but that's just because I don't have one. Playing the banjo??? There's too much of that going on which is how we risk ending up with BHO as president in spite of the fact that his judgement and temperament should have disqualified him long since. Still better than Hillary I suppose. The last time (and first time) I voted was for Jimmy Carter. I decided shortly after that I was unqualified to help with that process. Sadly, most of you are equally unqualified now and are too young to realize it. I'm going to register this time and vote for John Mcain in an effort to undo my mistake from 32 years ago. Ya'll should think long and hard about this bone-headed idea of putting a radical black in the white house at a time when a whole lot of radical muslims would like to see you taken down and forced to live under sharia law. Especially you women. That's really what they want, you know, and they don't even bother to hide it.
