Drives Me Nuts

From the Update.

Stories like this are pretty much: "Hey, something crazy is going on behind the scenes in Alvord. We've got a successful coach who has been relegated to coaching spare tennis. And that doesn't happen unless something big has happened."

Edit: Some submitters might note that their comment did not appear. Yep, some didn't make it through our Board Of Censorship Formerly Known As The USSR. But, sheesh people, you can't say some of those things!!!!!

Edit: Topic closed. Sorry. It's too much of a beating to go through them.

I tell ya. John Trice and the athletic director Coach Chaney are idiots! The whole athletic program caters to the football team and the girls are left out when it comes to funds! Both of those jackasses should be let go. Coach Enis is a great coach!

Anonymous said...

The football coaches need to hit the road. Alvord football sucked this year! The coaches are to blame. Leave the girls coach alone and concentrate on fixing the lousy football team. Time to clean house in that department. Look who went to state sure wasn't the football team!

Is Bud- Curtis' Dad still living? He was a DHS principal. He was one of those people you hate until you are old enough to wise up and realise they were trying to care when really no one else would.
Remember the morning announcement over the intercom? Tap,tap then two blows into the microphone and "Can you hear me? Is this thing on?" Then a throat clearing and "Good morning DHS..."

Anonymous said...

Yes, Bud is still alive. He is a great man and has raised some great educators.

Well, when a school district goes into the mobile home rental business for one of it's "new" coaches... people can assume something is definitely "going on." Not many school districts purchase homes to rent out to their employees. AND...is it rented or is this living arrangement part of an under the table salary deal? Things in Alvord have been a bit strange but this one takes the cake. Chaney has been after Enis for a few years (jealousy?). WHY would a very successful coach be reassigned by an AD that has nothing but failure in his own program? This does not look good for the admin of Alvord. Makes them (Trice) really look like someone has a blackmail going, but for what?
Doesn't make sense AT ALL!

Anonymous said...

The put the elementary principal in a house a few years ago to.

Anonymous said...

Chaney is jealous and he is the one that should go. he has done NOTHING to prove his worth. he is jealous of curtis and this was the only way he could be him.
now John is to blame as well and he knows that athletic program and football program need help as well. Chaney has done nothing with ALOT of talent.

Anonymous said...

I don't live in Alvord, but I can't believe the Alvord School Board is gonna sit around and let these clowns rip apart the best thing going for Alvord Athletics...it's gotta be a personal vendetta. Anyone that supports this action by Trice and Chaney is an idiot....

Anonymous said...

what has the alvord A.D done since he came here? well, besides choke ont he sidelines and get outcoached. the man don't even know how to use timeouts, so to think he can ever take the program to the state level in one sport - unlike enis has done in 3 sports - is crazy. i'm glad by boy graduated friday night because i could not take another year of his poorly run football program.

Anonymous said...

Trice has lost his mind! Chaney is a loser and has made done nothing more then make losing teams for the last 5 years. Curtis is a great coach and is being targeted for Chaney's personal gain. It will be very interesting to see how this works out. I don't that that the Alvord klan is going to let this pass by without a fight!

Anonymous said...

If this is truly a girls sport vs. boys sport issue the girls can never win in Texas because football will always be king.Shocking....

Anonymous said...

This is not about Chaney. The article simply states that Enis has been reassigned. If you want to comment, know all the facts before you start on your bandwagon about other coaches or administrators. I would be more concerned about why he has been reassigned and the students he has coached/taught.

Anonymous said...

Don't count on the Alvord School Board solving any problems anytime soon. Rubber stamps are rubber stamps.

Anonymous said...

Trice asked a very devout Christian man to run for the board this year. And he won. I pity the poor guy squaring his religious beliefs with Trice's recommendations. You get in the sewer, stuff rubs off!

Anonymous said...

As a Decatur Cross Country parent, I can say that I have always been proud of the high level of performance shown by the Alvord Cross Country teams throughout the years. Their successes throughout the years speak a lot toward the commitment and quality of everyone involved, including the Coach Enis.

Anonymous said...

Trice was finished with Enis when the coach couldn't do any more for Trice's daughter. (she graduated)But boy was Enis a good buy back then!

Anonymous said...

I know Enis will leave, but I sorta wish Enis would stay around and do for Boys Tennis what he did for Cross Country, Basketball, and Track.

Anonymous said...

It is my understanding that an administration can move any employee to any position it chooses. Believe me it happens in Decatur all the time and they usually create new positions to move said employee into. (tennis ???) obviously Curtis has not failed in his coaching duties as his successful programs have been duly noted. Personality conflicts are common but usually between coaches of the same sport. Anyone have any ideas as to what REALLY is the problem?

Anonymous said...

The first comment I would like to make, is that Mr.Trice has lost his mind. Both of our daughters were coached under curtis, and I know without a doubt that without his caring for my girls not only on the court but off the court, they would have missed some very important life lessons. He taught them attitude, to never give up, and gave them self confidence and the ability to take the lessons they learned from him into every aspect of their life. As far as I am concerned curtis and his wife Rhonda are the best coaches that AISD have ever had. If our school board allows him too lose his job they will be making the worst decision they have ever made.

Anonymous said...

I just want to say anyone who brings a girls basketball team from nothing to one of the best in the state, and brings cross county from one to two girls to 15 or 20 and how many championships!!!! Then girls track look at how many he has sent to state, hello people look at the stats just because someone screws up because of something stupid as this. Is freakin stupid sounds like something you would get onto your child about that is how lame it is, Grow up Chaney and Trice get over it and relize that just because you suck does not mean you have to drag everone else down too. Let the guy coach and leave him alone, he has been doing a hell of a job.

You have to be part of the Trice/Cheney/Kruts crowd. Be very careful about your innuendo. I am sure there is a document that gives the supposed reasons. You need to be very sure you don't stray from that document. You have your way. Enis will surely leave, but you don't have to slander him on his way out the door.

Enis is the lucky one. Better job, better salary, probably better environment. Us, we are left with the three above.

I guess you think that the Update printed the full and balanced story. I am sure that they have only spoke to one person (Trice) and he is not going to give Coach Enis' side of the story. There is alot of difference between jumping on a bandwagon and actually knowing what is going on. I am from Alvord and we know more then what has been printed in the Update.

Anonymous said...

I don't think Enis will leave without a fight, his daughter is a senior this year at Alvord and I do believe he will stay and fight to see his graduate and possibly get her a scholoarship. I played for the man way back when and personally I don't care for him but what was done to him is an injustice and he should fight the school 100%..

Anonymous said...

It may be a girls vs boys because the boys are very jealous of AHS girls success. Curtis and Rhonda have lived in Alvord 19 years - I can't quote record, but there is 14 state xc plagues in the gym and last I new Enis basketball record was close to 70% wins - It is outrageous that Trice and Chaney would do this to girls program, districe, community and most of all to Enis family - their daughter will be a SR next year - it takes a very vengful man to do this to someone who coached Trice's daughter and led her to some great athletic achievements. 2 years ago, Trices daughter graduated and he didn't need Enis anymore. Teresa and Crutsinger (Chaney's) friends moved in and decided they wanted to take some of girls sports away from Enis. Teresa C. could not coach a turtle race. Yes it it jealously and some of the board members are afraid to stand up for the right thing - I'm saying Trice and Chaney should be held accountable for their grave error in reassigning Coach Curtis Enis

ALVORD ISD SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS:

Reminder: you are elected by the community - please return our calls and listen to our concerns. You live in Alvord and will hopefully be here long after Trice and Chaney are gone. You are our voice. These two men are tearing up our community. Ask yourself, what Supt and AD in their right ming would reassign a coach with Coach Enis record? I've been told their are a couple of "items" he was told - If they were so bad, why did you wait until the last day of school to do this ? Trice and Chaney are slanderous and mean. You, the school board are our voice, please listen.

10:59, re-read it. It refers to the district's attorney (as in Alvord School District's attorney) as opposed to the district attorney (as in Wise County District Attorney).....it's all about the "'s".

Anonymous said...

10:59, There is no mention of the District Attorney's office in the update. There is a mention of the District's attorney who the Alvord School District hired to give them legal advise. Probably told them to keep their mouths shut to keep from saying anything publically that might come back to bite them in a civil suit if one is filed.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know why the Messenger does not run the story on John Trice and Larry Wilson campaigning for Joe Tison? It is electioneering at it's best.

Anonymous said...

11:40 a.m. - you're are correct. The AISD attorney has been called several times lately - because of Trice's ego...........John Trice and Larry Wilson send a letter to school employees telling them to vote for Joe Tison, had their picture made with him (on school time) and when the taxpayers got upset, Trice had to call the school's attorney, just like he'll be calling them on this screw up - Trice is costing the taxpayers $$$$ because he cannot do his job.

Alvord ISD Patrons

This issue is larger than Curtis. He will be OK as he moves on. Let's face facts. Trice has ruined His job. But we are still here. These mean are in charge of our school. They control our children's destiny. There will be future Curtis's.

We need to organize a "Bulldog Watchdog" group to monitor what they are doing. Elect officers, built a treasurer's fund for attorneys and support board candidates.

We need to seek the assistance of the State Attorney General, the Texas Education Agency and Title 9
for help.

We need to field three candidates for the upcoming election in May.

We need to take back our schools

Alvord Taxpayers:

If our money has been used for mandatory School Board Training, it has been wasted!

By law it is a non-paying job. That being said, the Alvord School Board is overpaid!

Current members should resign. They have proved themselves incompetent.

Anonymous said...

Jeez, from reading this I would have to say one thing about the posters and the school in Alvord, what a bunch of screwups!

Anonymous said...

We are trying to take our school back but it is a slow process. Trice has quite a hold on the school board. Last year, Trice's running buddy Calvin Baker was beat in the school board election by Jimmy Looney, then low and behold, the very next meeting Audra Rhine resigned because she was moving (a little fact that she knew before the election) What did Trice and the school board do?? They asked Calvin to come back.. after the Alvord voters had clearly stated that he was not the man that they wanted to do the job. The Alvord voter prevailed this year when Baker lost to Jeanette Ward. Trice has openly expressed his dislike for her but..... It may take a few years but we will take our schools back for Trice and his current school board klan. Trice's days are numbered and this didn't help any. The Alvord public is pissed and that can't be good for him!

House of R & R said...

My first thought after reading the update was....this sounds very similar to the same thing that happened to Russell Black when he was a coach in Alvord.

Don't worry, some members of the board are well aware of what is going on here. When the truth comes out, we'll see whose left standing.

Anonymous said...

From the viewpoint of Decatur Cross Country as a parent--I've never seen anything but excellence and class from Curtis and Rhonda, as regards the Alvord Cross Country program.

Anonymous said...

Well, this has the odor of some things hidden and wrong in the school district. Maybe someone should sniff around on the money trail to see if everything else is kosher. Are the trailer and residence purchases a legitimate use of public money? Are there other "questions"? I am not a resident or parent in Alvord but from what I have read here, the whole mess may need a thorough look-see.

so the new GIRLS track coach will also have to coach football?

You are probably a AISD board member and no doubt you spoke the truth......you do know what is going on because you have participated.

Yet your post proved the point of all previous post........Trice sees this a contest between him and Curtis......a duel to the end/who will be standing in the end.A challenge to his ego. No one can be more highly regarded than he.

Well of course you and Trice will be standing in the end.......at least temporarily. The rules were written by and for supterintendents.

Yet, the two of you are willing to pay such a high price to sooth your egos. Tear up the Enis family, senior daughter and all.
Disrupt the girls athletic program from its steady march to excellence. Polarize the community.

Yes, as an insider you know the punishment far exceeds the mistake. But that's by design isn't it? You don't want the mistake corrected, you want Curtis/Rhonda gone........You want to level the girls program to the boys. Shame on you

One never knows what to believe on this bloggers haven - but I guess if half of what you all say is true, then AISD is in a sad state of mind. I really feel for the teachers and also the other campuses if they, too are under the helm of these sorts of leaders.

Isn't it a shame how educational admnistrators can treat individuals like this and simply get away with it. Nowhere else would this be OK, would it?

It is sad when a school district allows the superintendent to run the whole shibang, and NOT the board. Board members, YOU have the power and can do anything you want to. If what they say is true, take back your school. You are the ones with the authority to approve and disapprove, even when it comes to the superintendent. Know your rights and duties to these people of Alvord, and step up to the plate, or court, or track or field. Those students deserve great opportunities both in and out of the classroom. And you owe it to them. So, get busy!

The people of Alvord really don't want to know the TRUTH of what is going on, because their is one person that has been sniffing around for a year, going to School Board meetings and pulling Open Record letters, but instead of asking her what she knows, all she gets in return is people accusing her of having a personal vendetta and twisting her words around.
I don't know if I walked in her shoes that I wouldn't have one, but trust me she doesn't. She has pretty much kept silent until recently.

You know my mama taught me it's the quiet ones you need to worry about, the ones who sit back keeping quiet, listening, watching and then pouncing when ready!!!!!

Anonymous said...

So Chaney is going to get an additional assistant football coach out of the deal. Surprised anyone?

No coach worth his salt will take these jobs without first checking with Curtis. Checking Alvord out. Bottom line, when they hear about the environment at Alvord ISD, they will pass.

Only the desperate and incompetent will apply.

Anonymous said...

ok...Curtis received his contract renewal this past March. Nothing mentioned in it about poor performance...anything that would warrant a reassignment. From what I understand, Trice has commented to the board that a UIL rule was broken back in 2006! Yep...2006..two years ago. That was only found after Trice, et al, went digging for something to hang on Curtis. The UIL was contacted and their response was, "no biggie, - easily fixed." Trice however seemed to blow things all out of proportion to the board telling them it was a AWFUL UIL rule breaking. If this were ANYTHING other than a witch hunt, then Curtis would have not had his contract renewed back in March and would have been given reasons for it. All this "digging and retrieval of score books from the coaches desk" have gone on in just the last few months. If you want to know the TRUTH and not the inuendos ask to see the documentation for his reassignment. Alvord school board, you best wake up and pay attention because you have been fed the biggest bunch of bs ever. If it STINKS to the community, it should have some odor for you to pick up on as well. Don't take your superintendent's word...you better do some digging yourselves.

I agree. I believe the last few years, our school board has been trainied by Mr Trice and Larry Wilson to just follow orders and tell everyone they have to do what the Supt says. I think the term is macro-managing. Although very patient and articulate, Trice takes the board out of the governing body they are elected to be. I believe the board cares about the school and community. Trice should be put on probation for causing this public outcry. The board and supt are to build partnerships with the community, not tear it apart.

Anonymous said...

It's the school board that doesn't want to know the truth. When this broke, to a man they turned off their cell phones and refused to answer their home phones. Almost to a man they hid behind the "I can't talk about it!"

Well if they wanted the truth they would have responded, What do you know, Tell me what you think, etc
or just "I'm listening.

Of course they can't talk about the particulars, but they can listen to their patrons. Heck they might even show their patron some respect.

They can stay awake during board meetings listening for contradictions, non sequitors, excuses.

And they can prepare themeselves. The Alvord board as a group has incredibly low hrs for board training. Some not even meeting the legal requirements. That pretty much sums up their attitude, their committment to Alvord staff and students. It's like "let Trice do it," "wake me for the motion to adjourn."

Guys, while you were asleep, Trice did it!

Anonymous said...

Edit: Some submitters might note that their comment did not appear. Yep, some didn't make it through our Board Of Censorship Formerly Known As The USSR. But, sheesh people, you can't say some of those things!!!!!

Example of Alvord School Board asleep at the wheel. Trice has a 5-yr contract. What 2-A school districts awards its supt a 5 yr contract!

It would take 1 million dollars to move Trice on. 500,000 to Trice and a loss of 500,000 next year in state funding. And this alone is probably the source of his arrogance.

Alvord taxpayers can't afford that. They will have to live with Trice for the next five years. Can you imagine the damage he can do in that length of time?

The current Alvord School Board simply isn't up to the task. This incident is just the best example.
Alvord taxpayers, parents, teachers, and sadly kids are screwed.

In stead of bringing the boys progam up to standard, Trice's solution is to drag the girls program down. That should help Title 9 problems. True equity.

mzchief said...

WOW!
I am shocked that after all this time folks in Wise County act like petty, mean spirited, incompetent school administrators pandering to the good ol' boys on the school board to further a personal agenda is something new!

Just look at the shenanigans that have gone on with Decatur ISD and the spares that have been hired by the Bridgeport ISD at the suggestion of the friends and contacts of the sleazy assistant superintendent.

Alvord's situation is a result of nothing more than small town yokels putting in power people who otherwise would not and should not have power if they had been required to have done more than win a popularity contest. Of course Alvord and all the other inbred districts like Decatur and B'port are going to be rife with corruption and stupidity as well as rat bastards with personal agendas.

If you want to change the politics of your school district, REFUSE to EVER vote for a school board member who has served more than two terms on the school board. The same might be said for your county and state politicians.

QUIT BITCHING if you are not going to do something to change the situation.

Lets get real here. Trice tied the hands of the board a long time ago by encouraging policy that basically gives them no power. Don't think that Wilson wasn't behind it. He was the AISD superintendent, got fired, sued the school, won, and now spoon feeds Trice so that they stay in control. So WHO was asleep at the wheel? Alvord voters, that's who! There are ways to restrict his power, but you are not fighting just Trice, you are fighting two superintendents and a very nieve board. These guys don't even have the state mandated amount of training hours required by law. It's kinda like the slave owners not wanting to educate the slaves because they might think for themselves.
There are some board members that are wising up. (Some ARE actually listening.) Lets just hope they can figure out what to do before the whole town goes down in smoke. Since the only real business in this town is the school, would the town exist without it? Trice you really screwed up here. Are you really prepared to level the district for your own personal revenge, or to help out your losing AD or the HS speech teacher who can't coach worth a flip. For such a smart man, I can't believe you think this move is good for AISD. Don't we NEED kids to move here? Isn't that why the board passed a policy to accept transfers? What a stupid move on your part. Almost as stupid as the voters that put Wilson on the board.

Anonymous said...

There's no doubt that Coach Enis has done a great job with the girls. Coach Chaney, on the other hand, has done a miserable job. Look how many boys made it to regionals in track. One would think with all that speed Chaney could have coached the football team to a winning season. The talent is there. The coaching is sorely lacking.

Anonymous said...

Mischief is right. Its time to quit bitchin and start doin.

New candidates can't file till after the first of the years. AISD patrons need to start now organizing that campaign, slecting candidates that can think, that have a backbone, and the courage to speak up.

Between now and then. Attend board meetings. Ask for documents. Use the Open Records Act to get documents that are refered to but not passed out to the public.

Parents don't be afraid. File a grievance every time, I repeat every time you know of an injustice, a violation of rules, etc.

Taxpayers make it clear there will be no more bonds passed until the environment inside the current building change.

You might be tempted to boycott certain athletic events to show your displeasure........but don't
Remember it is about the kids.
Show them your support them.

I was afraid I wouldn't see this day. Hopefully we AISD parents can get rid of Trice and Chaney. Trice is a joke for a superintendent. Talking to Trice about any problem you might have with the faculty (Bullard & Chaney and others) was a waste of time. Chaney showed 2 years ago he didn't know enough to coach. He didn't know how to use time outs, didn't know what the score of the game needed to be to move on in the playoffs and didn't use the players to the best of their ability. The 2006 football team should have better or as good as 2005 but thanks to Chaney we saw an early exit. To those of us around long enough to remember when Curtis coached our football team they did very well. Guess Chaney is afraid Curtis could do more than he can on the football field too. Maybe we should get rid of Chaney and reassign Curtis to handle the football team. Chaney would not give game tapes to the players even when the parents provided the tapes so that the colleges could view the boys. Just didn't have time - thought that was part of his job description. With any luck Alvord can finally get rid of Trice and Chaney. Good luck to Curtis and his family whatever they decide to do.

Maybe they just want a great tennis team with a proven winning coach. Well, probably not.

If Curtis files a grievance, he has an impressive record of achievements that will be very difficult for the admin to argue against. Seems more like a personality conflict - with one person holding all the power...

As a taxpayer, you should ask - does the action taken against Curtis leave the ALVORD district stronger? more efficient? better coached? better use of personnel? in better compliance with UIL regs? etc.? I think not.

If Curtis is lucky he won't have to go back to Alvord. That may be the worst punishment possible.

What is amazing is that out of 70+ comments, no one seems to know what is really going on here. Even when an employer does not give full disclosure on personnel matters due to "confidentiality," there is usually someone who will at least claim to know what happened.

I don't live anywhere near Wise Co., so I don't have any place saying anything good or bad about the AISD administration. However, I have learned something from the current comments and the election-related comments a few months back...Spewing vitriol is easy when you don't have to sign off on it.

someone said Trice wrecked HIS district. I see what they say, but Alvord is not HIS district. Trice is close to retirement and his legacy will be one of hurting educators, detroying towns, lieing to public and teachers, spying, and making one of the most "stupid" reassignments in Texas education. way to go

Anonymous said...

This is going to cost the taxpayers a ton in legal fees and revenue. If the coach leaves and takes Rhonda with him, Trice would have to hire at least six people to the job they did alone. Then they are going to have to hire a bunch of new teachers because most are so sick of the way they are being treated and are looking for jobs already. Then he's going to have to find a different way to bring in more kids just to meet payroll, because most of the girls will leave if Chaney is allowed to hire "his deadheads" so they can sleep in the locker room while the girls work out alone. Most of your talent will follow Curtis, because they know he will help get them a scholarship. When was the last time a male athlete got an athletic scholarship? The funny thing is ....Chaney thinks he's safe. He's too stupid to realize that when the truth comes out, Trice will pin it all on Chaney. Personally, I think it would be funny if Curtis did stay. Then we can watch Chaney and Trice choke eachother when the boys tennis team wins state.

i was planning on moving my two athletic high schoolers to alvord to get out of what i call the hell hole, decatur isd. but it sounds like there is just as much backward crap going on in alvord as there is in decatur. is there a school system in this county that is not run like a frickin hillbilly fillin' station. please tell me its not that bad in alvord, i cant take another 4 years in idiotsville, decatur isd.

11:05, did you not read the comment about the UIL violation? THAT is what Trice/Chaney are trying to use against Curtis, but there is nothing MORE than JEALOUSY going on here...plain and simple. Curtis does his job and is successful. Chaney's record stinks and will continue to stink because the man isn't a proven leader. After this, no one will want to even be in athletics.

The school board has either ignored or covered up Trice's political letter to SD employees urging their votes for Joe Tison. There was supposed to be an investigation of this issue months ago but how hard is that to prove? Can the board support a guy in a witch hunt like this who can't even follow political policy guidelines? What other deals has he made with the board?

So who will be coaching the girls basketball teams next year?

I agree with the comments that have been posted about Trice & Chaney. What ALL of us of Alvord need to remember is that we can post comments all day long about what we don't like, but we HAVE to show up for the school board meeting on June 19th so that Trice & the board can see we are serious about what we are saying!!! We have to walk the talk. Curtis needs our support, & not just words so please clear your schedules for the 19th & be there to put the board in it's place!!!!

You are right! We have to take the first steps in taking back our school. To restore integrity in the board room, in the supt's office and the AD's office. And we have to sustain this community response till Feb when board candidates can file.

I't going to be tough. We can do it.

The superintendent and board should work together to ensure harmony in community. Way to go. This will cost the district tax payer $$ and 2 jobs are posted to replace Coach Enis - More tax payer $$ - Good job, Trice, your stubborness has cost tax payer, community, kids, and staff. Alvord has been know for years as the place for girls athletics. Coach Enis promotes our town and brings revenue. The 287 tourn brought alot of revenue to the area. Remember, NONE of the boys coaches helped with tourny. Coach Enis's family and friends worked the tournament. The thing about it, all Trice and Chaney did was complain and make it difficult. When our Supt does not promote our town, he needs to move on. Instead of helping with the tourny (which was approved by Chaney and scheduled in advance) Trice and Chaney took the chance to make it difficult for Curtis. If Trice and Chaney spent the time on positive staff ideas instead of looking under a micro-scope to try and "catch" the staff in errors. this blog would not exist. Curis, Rhonda, you are true educators and role models.

Wow! I have never read so much info in all my life. I would need to read both sides to make a decent opinion! I know for certain that the Enis family are all nice people that care about others and that superintendents are a dime a dozen! I know that some people let power go to their head and that sports is a very important part of all schools! It is sad when things like this happen! It hurts so many people, but hopefully the good ones come out better for it!

*LOL*
You people who want to stage a civilian coup d’├ętat at the school board meeting are a hoot. If you want to REALLY make your point go ahead and show up with burning torches, pitch forks and a couple of nooses. Incidentally, the torches, pitch forks and nooses suggestion was a JOKE. If you are not on the agenda you cannot speak at the school board meeting. So, sit there en masse with your mouths shut. Your FREQUENT presence at the meetings will let the school board know you are watching and taking notes. You might want to send a LETTER to the administrators and each school board member PRIOR to turning up at the meetings and let them know you are NOT happy they are such incompetent sleaze bags and seemingly are giving Enis the bum's rush. Perhaps, you should pick a word other than sleaze bags. Just a word of advice, make certain to use spell check PRIOR to sending your letter. You do not want to come across as an illiterate cretin.

It is too late to save this Enis guy but NOT too late to VOTE OUT the morons the next chance you get to VOTE.

Incidentally, how many of you rabble-rousers have ever bothered to VOTE for ANY member of the school board and if you did was your choice based on ANYTHING other than popularity?

That is what I thought!

i hope curtis can fill the boyd job and he can come back and tan alvord's rawhide.

Anonymous said...

Mzchief -

I agree, but we need to make one clarification.

Members of the community CAN speak at a board meeting without being on the agenda. It's called public forum. All they have to do is sign up at the door and they get their few minutes EACH.

IF 100 of you signed up, you get to speak. They can't deny you that brief opportunity. Now, they DON'T have to respond and they can't act on anything not on the agenda already, but they will hear even if htey try not to listen. so go for it!

Oh, and be prepared - write your speeches ahead of time!

I would like all of the Alvord Taxpayers, Parents and Students to know that the School Board meeting minutes for January 14, 2008 reads:

Motion by Lynn Garrett, second by Calvin Baker to employ John Trice as Superintendent as set forth in the Superintendent's Term Contract #7-1-2008 for a term of five years commencing July 1, 2008, and ending June 30, 2013, at an ANNUAL SALARY of $104,000. Motion carries 6-0.

School Board Minutes March 27, 2008 reads:

Curtis Enis on a 207-day, dual assignment teacher/coach term contract, subject to assignment for the 2008-09 school year.

What else you want to know?

You know funny thing is I understand now, why all of you hide behind Anonymous because if you put your name out there then you are accused of slandering.
I put truth on the Texas Insider and I have tape recordings and documentation to back it up with and more than enough witnesses to back up what has been said, plus if need to be people that would be subpoenaed.

Another funny thing, in all my Alvord ISD School Board minutes dating back to 2000, there has never been but 4 or 5 people show up at a board meeting and that is only for 1 or 2 meetings. Most the minutes read NO VISITORS. This has got to stop. I have been going off and on since 2007 but it is going to take ALL of the ALVORD COMMUNITY, the BOARD won't listen to just one person. Been there done that!

Where was all of Jeannette Wards supporters on May 22, 2008 when she was sworn in or Kerry Clower's. Had Jeannette and Kerry's supporters all been there you would have seen and heard all that transpired in the board meeting and you would have heard all the yelling that took place in the closed meeting that took over an hour to open back up to the public.

Talk is cheap, action is what gets them running.
I will warn you though, that standing up for what is RIGHT isn't for whimps because you put a BIG BULLSEYE on your back when you do. I know this how, because every since I started questioning, sniffing around and trying to make the Alvord ISD accountable, I've had one on mine since May 14, 2007.

If you want my help, I can help! This week I will be picking up approximately 800 pages of documentation, costing $136.50, that I requested in a Open Records letter.
I know too, there is a few people out there that can help me too. There are people around town that can put you in touch with me.

I would like to know about the mobile home talk and about the hear say of the A.D. remodeling his wife's kitchen during school hours but ONLY FACTS with PROOF!!!!!

Hmmmm....
Sounds as though this Tice guy has a FEW skeletons rattling around in his own closet. I wonder what action, if any, the school board took regarding the issue regarding Tice and Wilson mentioned at this link. It might be a good idea for someone to contact the person who wrote the blog and see if they have a copy of the letter from Tice and Wilson mentioned in the article. Just a thought, mind you.

I hope everyone that has responded on this sight will be at the next board meeting. Alvord ISD would not be what it is without passionate parents that want to make a difference and are glad to be involved. Parents that raise money, volunteer their time and absolutely do anything that is needed. Well, us passionate parents are really needed right now.

Anonymous said...

Maybe the reason everyone is anonymous is because of the kids. Don't think for one minute that the people being criticized on this blog won't take it out on your child if he or she is a student.

Anonymous said...

Ok. How do yall all now that Coach Enis has not done anything wrong?

When all the facts come out, then we can talk about it

Anonymous said...

Because most of us in alvord know the facts of the situation and besides that why don't you use a little common sense, if he did anything wrong, they would have grounds to fire him not "reassign" him. The reassignment is Trice & Chaney's way of trying to make him quit. If they had one valid reason to fire him they would but they don't! "I don't like him" or "I am jealous of his success" really isn't a reason is it??

Anonymous said...

I'll tell you why no one post with thier real name because if you stir the pot then your child is doomed to be singled out by the higher ups and picked at for minor things. How many times can you make a boy shave in one day. Ask coach Holsen or the Nazi bullard. I have seen it happen with my own child. Even took it to Trice and he is about worthless. You get lied to and nothing comes of anything!!!!! MZchief..keep your trap shut!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Who said Enis has not done something wrong? He probably has done something very minor wrong. Heck, when you sniff around long enough everyone can be found guilty of doing something wrong.
BUT does it merit ripping the entire girls athletic apart at the seems for it? I doubt it...and we will soon know.

To anonymous 11:45...
I truly am sorry your child was screwed over by the school district. I would imagine having a cretin like you as a parent is enough of a cross for them to bear and that anything else they had to endure was what pushed them over the edge.

If someone of limited intellect telling me "keep your trap shut!!!!!!!..." was all it took to silence me I would have been mute years ago.
Try something new, Jethro.

*LOL@U*

I am glad to hear someone who shares the same feelings about how Bullard runs AHS like a nazi prison camp, while sorry excuse for a human Holsen goes around school all day looking to punish kids for the smallest infractions he can find, even if it is as small as a small hole worn in some poor kid's jeans or maybe peach-fuzz....this shit really happens, something needs to be done to help these kids.

There are 3 sides to every story; yours, mine, and the truth.

This is the truth.

#1 Coach Chaney runs a good program

#2 Mrs. Bullard & Coach Holson, control things at the Highschool and care about the kids

#3 John Trice is real good at his job, before he came AISD had old run down buildings, could barely pay its bills. Now we have a new Highschool,Elementry School and soon to be a New Middle School.
