I really don't know that much about chess champion Bobby Fischer who died yesterday. But I do remember him acting like a nutcase during an ESPN interview about two years ago - he went on some anti-Jewish rant that made me stop down.
So I thought I'd take a quick look at him over at Wikipedia and was surprised to see that no one had updated his page to reflect his death. That's a first. Normally that thing changes within minutes of an event happening.

It's a reflection on how he lived the last part of his life.
He squandered any goodwill he earned for his chessplaying ability.
He was the most popular chessplayer in the world at one time; now he dies and the entire world shrugs and says "so what?"
The lack of a wiki update is a fitting eulogy.
Chess champion or prospector-YOU decide.
Loooks like a nutcase. I think if you are going to be a nutball you should groom, dress and and generally try to be as normal as possible up front and then when the time is right *POW* -that would show 'em.
Wonder how many jars of urine and semi feral cats he left behind?
Very good point there WK.
The brevity of his Wiki page might also speak volumes.
He was probably the most well known person in his day regardless of activity. He interested people in chess and made them proud of his country he was a cultural icon he could have used what he had to do untold good and he wasted it all in his own lifetime.
He was an awesome chess champion and known for his aggressive play and would take great risks. Most definitely has lived an odd life since those days.
As goofy as Wikipedia is are we sure somebody didn't make a sreenshot of Bumfights and post it on there?
Hey look it's Rufus the stunt bum!
Mr. Fischer was not available for comment at press time...
It's funny how our lives turn out isn't it?
Yes, I laugh myself to sleep every night.
My MSN homepage still doesn't have headline up about his death.
Wow! Several hours later and it's still not updated. I could do it myself, but now I want to see how long it will take.
