Horrible Local News

The officer is a former Wise County Sheriff's Office deputy. His dad is currently an investigator with the Wise County Attorney's Office. (The news stories should appear here.)

Edit: Dallas Morning News story here. ("He was a good ol' country boy," said Officer David Tilley, a Plano police spokesman. "He had that country accent. You could tell he was from Wise County. Former Wise County patrolman Billy Hamilton, a friend of the younger Hardy, said the news of his death had hit the Decatur-area law enforcement community hard.")
Fox 4 News story here.

That intersection has a lot of wrecks due to red light runners. It had gotten a lot safer with the red light cams. Of course we hate efforts to curb speeding or red light running using cameras, since we can't really see the benefit, I guess. Can probably find a few people tonight that have a clue as to why some cities will try anything they can to make people drive safer.

Following crashes needs to be outlawed. Too many are dying following them.

in light of the FACT that it is the surveillance cameras in public areas that are allowing the police in the United Kingdom to round up the terrorists involved in the recent attempts to murder innocent people in PUBLIC AREAS in London and Glasgow, I would have thought the Surveillance Cameras in Public Areas Haters would have CHANGED their minds.

I have OFTEN wondered; if people are NOT doing anything they ought NOT be doing in public WHY some people get so worked up at the mere PROSPECT of surveillance cameras in PUBLIC areas.

MZ CHIEF, I am with you. All the missing girl collars were due to surveillance cameras in strategic locations. Several of the perps were actually CAUGHT on "Camera". So what's wrong with the camera UNLESS you are doing something wrong? What if your daughter, wife, sister, Mom were missing and a camera helped identify the "grabber"? Would you stil cry Big Brother?

We have known Wes since moving to Boyd in 1984, and watched him grow up and become a wonderful young man. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

LETS SHOW SOM RESPECT TO THE HARDY FAMILY AND THEIR CLOSE FRIENDS. THIS IS A BAD THING FOR THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS. NOT SOME OPPERTUNITY TO TALK ABOUT HOW SPY CAMERAS WOULD MAKE THINGS BETTER FOR THE WORLD. I DIDNT HAVE THE PLEASURE TO KNOW MR. HARDY BUT I DO KNOW HIS FATHER AND SEVERAL OF HIS CLOSE FRIENDS AND FORMER CO WORKERS. LETS PLEASE KEEP THIS BLOG TO RESPECTING DAYLE HARDY AND NOT GET OFF ON ANOTHER TOPIC, THANKS.

Did this man ever attend Decatur schools? I recall a Wes Hardy, but am not sure if this is the same person. Anyone know?
Our prayers go out to the family and his many friends. We appreciate his dedication to law enforcement and the protection of citizens. Terrible loss!

AHEM!

I do NOT know what YOU or the REST of the people who have commented on this blog TYPICALLY pray for WHEN they pray but people such as Officer Dayle Hardy and his family are included in my DAILY prayers. My DAILY prayers for people who are enduring hardship are of such a COMMON theme in MY life I do NOT feel compelled to BOAST about offering prays of condolence and comfort for specific individuals.

YOU are the one who took it upon YOURSELF to turn the blog regarding the passing of Officer Hardy into a CONTENTIOUS situation. If you had been WILLING/CAPABLE of THINKING rather than finding fault PERHAPS you would have been able to have seen the CONNECT between having had a surveillance camera at the intersection where Officer Hardy was struck by an automobile and his PERHAPS not having been struck by a motorist.

Rather than offering lip service perhaps YOU and the OTHER people who have so publicly indicated their concern for the Hardy Family would send a gift to the Dayle Weston Hardy Memorial Fund.

For those who are inclined to do MORE than type out the words of their concern ANY monetary gifts to the Hardy Family are to be sent to the:

Plano Police Association
P.O. Box 861956
Plano, TX 75086-1956

Checks are to be made to:

Plano Police Association Charities

Please specify in a cover letter that the gift is for the Dayle Hardy Family or write in the memo portion of the check;

For the Hardy Family

so that YOUR gift will be given to the Hardy Family.

I obtained this information from Sergeant Haynes at the Plano Police Dept.

This is not the Wes Hardee that attended D.H.S. and had Timmy as brother, 11:09 AM. Good people as well, but not the same Wes.
