Flashback
I posted this about a year ago, but today's proclamation by the Rev. Jesse Jackson (that all black entertainers, including comedians and rap artists, should abandon the use of the "n word") made me think of it.
The news report starts a tad bit slow but when the white guy starts explaining, with the aid of handmade graphics, why he used the word "nigga" it becomes 100% gold.

There's a bunch of words I don't care for. For example, snicker-doodle. Borax is another. Sometimes when I hear someone say "popcorn," I go crazy. Maybe I can get some people behind me, get organized, and really make some changes. What we've really got to do is keep people from thinking bad things. I say jail time for 1st offenses, castration for two-timers, and death for repeat offenders. All right, who's with me?
I hate the word Fart, I hate any curse word when people put GOD in front of it, I hate the word pregnant, can I get someone fired for using those words!? Please! How about there tongue cut out for saying a word that I don't like?

Don't we have FREE SPEECH here? You can't just "delete" a word from an established vocabulary! A WORD is just that...nothing else. I believe the black folk have their WORDS for the honky folks...right? Richards should have said... "yep...that's what I said... deal with it!" Instead..he's comtemplating COUNSELING? for gosh sakes! (in my opinion...anyone who listens to or heeds Jesse Jackson's anything...does need counseling.)

What's funny is this--the people who will be impacted the MOST by this "ban", is going to be the BLACK entertainers, comedians, etc., who are the ones GUILTY of using it the most!! Again, almost all of our remaining racists in this country are--minorities.

Not any worse than anything else you could call someone... dumbass. I think the point was why should anyone be beaten simply for uttering a racial epithet? And why would you assume that any black man would be willing and/or able to beat up a white guy (or anyone for that matter)just for calling them something that blacks say to each other frequently? Do you believe blacks are superior to whites in any way? Or vice versa?
Personally, I think getting a beating from a grown man is far worse than calling someone a name. Now honestly, don't you think so too?
What verbal behavior would cause you to raise your fists (feet, whatever) and put another person's life in danger? Who needs the counseling here? The pummeler or the pummee? Or maybe you?

Why on God's green earth would anybody give Jessie Jackson any creditability ? Was he not the "person" who was Tappin some ass other than his own right after Clinton was Tappin in the oval office ?
