The National Weather Service . . .

. . . always makes reference to towns that I couldn't find on a map. Example is above. North of a line from Goldthwaite to Athens? That's the best description they can give me?

I can't believe you've never heard of Athens. But then Googling is hard work.

For someone who lampoons the short-sightedness of Wise County residents, you're not doing much to prove that you are any different. Jack County must be as far as you've ever been.

How can the first line be North of Goldthwaite to Athens and the last line be south of Goldthwaite to Athens?

12:44, it's a function of a phenomenon we call "time". Has to do with the rotation of the earth, our orbit, and our progression through space. Anyway, we often call different periods of time by names such as "morning" or "afternoon". And what's interesting is that rain showers have been known to move as this thing called "time" moves. So, that's why it might rain north of a line in the "morning" and then south of a line in what we call the "afternoon". Hope that helps.

Please do make that knot a wee bit tighter and while you are at it make the rope just a wee bit shorter. If you need someone to kick the stool out from under your feet I am certain there are countless people eager to take care of that task for you.
