This is Ms. Texarkana.
This weekend the
Star-Telegram published a
story regarding the unusual circumstances of her parent's marriage.
Here's a hint: At the time of the marriage, her future dad was a 47 year old ex-POW and her future mother was 15!
And the
Star-Telegram headline: "Contestant's parents had fairytale courtship"

She's not from Texarkana or even going to school there. I think you should not be allowed to gypsy around and enter local pageants in places you're not from.
In the dirtay souf, marrying 15 year olds is family business.
While in high school, my brother dated the mom of Miss Plano and my sister-in-law dated the dad of Miss Plano. She won the swimsuit and talent. - Heather Hodges.
sick...
It would seem that this was a little of that "statutory" stuff back then. But when he married the Jr. Hi aged girl I guess it made it ok. I suppose daddy is now about 80 and mom is in late 40's. Hope she's still happy.
Are you sure she isn't Ms. Wise County?
Barry: This should give you some hope here for the future Ms.Green
I presume there a few 40+ year old guys in Wise County jail or Texas prison that wish having a relationship with a 15-year old girl would be considered a "fairytale courtship" as it apparently is in Arkansas.
There was one kid they arrested half way through his senior year for "touching" a younger girl. He missed his prom, graduation, and spent until the end of summer in the county jail till they dropped the charges. This kid looked about 13 and had no supportive family. I can't believe it took that long to investigate and I can't believe how they screwed up his life. Thank you Jana. How could the investigation taken that long? It wasn't the first time the girl had made these charges. Yet, the kid had no money and therefore couldn't make bail. I think our justice system needs some improvement.
It is obvious that God intends for kids younger than 18, even kids 11, 12 years old, to have babies. I can't see it, seems very wrong, but anyone that believes in God must accept it as absolute fact. There is a basic conflict between God's intention and the laws we set as a modern society. I think a lot of people, both the young and older, get caught up in that and it leads to big trouble.
good grief! I am a christian too, but does EVERY post have to have a comment about religion?
Why does it bother you so much to hear the word God, hum, miz. gina ?
I agree with Miz Gina and 9:27 has blinders on and no brains. Bad combination.
If you are a christian, miz gina it shouldnt bother you.
Well I am a christian, and it does bother me. See there are those that we are supposed to try and reach and shoving this down there throat every single entry isn't going to do it.
Trying LIVING your sermon and not PONTIFICATING all the time.
Even the Bible tells you that there is a time and place for everything....
There are things in this world that do not require a sermon. Sometimes it just is what it is.
Oh and why are you all anonymous? Ashamed of what you are preaching? Get a pic get a profile THEN get on your soapbox!
Where does the bible say when and where to speak his word, you qouated, you answer?
my reference to a time and place for everything was not specific to a sermon, but yes it DOES fall under it... please read Ecc.3:1-8
It does say EVERYTHING.....
And if you go by the old law yu should live by the old law. New law, Preach the word, be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and DOCTRINE. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears. 2 Tim.4:2&3
Bottom line here, do you really think that your religious comments to every blog is doing ANYTHING but turning people OFF.
I am a Christian and it turns me off.
As far as I am concerned that is the end of this, you can persist in your preaching but you need to remember a couple of things.
One you need to check the beam in your eye before you go looking for splinters in others....
Secondly you don't need to beat everyone over the head daily ... all you have to do is plant ONE SEED...
It seems that it takes more than one because some fall on stoney ground, some in thorns, and some get devoured by the bird's,or the worldly things, hint hint.
God's word shouldn't turn you off, thats not good.
The major problem I have with the "God's Law/Word" being referenced is that it was written by ignorant old men who each and everyone had an agenda! For more than 1200 years "God's Law/Word" was twisted and tortured solely by the Catholic Church in an attempt to forward the agenda of the Catholic Church. "God's Law/Word" continues to be espoused and interpreted by people with agendas. Modern day Christian zealots are just as obnoxious as modern day fundamentalist Muslims and homosexual zealots in that they all feel compelled to march around spewing THEIR group's ideology and demanding that it be accepted and embraced by EVERYONE!
I believe religion should be kept in the mosques, temples and churches and should be practiced and applied to the lives of those who elect to conduct their lives according to the religion of their choice, just as sexual preferences and sexual activity should be a choice kept private.
I for one view my PERSONAL relationship with God as just that, A PERSONAL MATTER and believe that by discussing MY relationship with everyone who has ears/a computer I would demean and disrespect the PERSONAL aspect of MY relationship with God!
I have no doubt some self-righteous Bible thumping Charlie Church will quote some chapter and verse from "THE BIBLE" about how it is "God's Law" that they PREACH to even the unwilling about "THE WORD". However, as a US citizen I have the LEGAL right to NOT be told how to live my life as determined by the details of a book of Fables and Myths that were handed down from one civilization to another.
In short, I agree with Mz.Gina. It is disgusting how a commenters feel compelled to interject their all knowing will of God into a NONreligious blog discussion.
Well said Mzchief!
mzchief, and miz gina, Im sorry you feel that way, we have our american right too, to speake as we pllease, you do not have to commente on any of the things said, but you choose too. Believe it or not God gave you that freedom, you know the one whom you just bashed his HOLY WORD, wether you believe it or not. If you would come back down to earth alittle and stop being the gurue of everyones minds and just breathe.
To Anonymous 7:47 AM...
If you had any experience with comprehending the intent of written text you would have discerned from my comment that at no time did I "bash" God. Just because I do not buy into the book of fables and myths written and manipulated by men and religions you worship as the "HOLY WORD" does not mean my faith and understanding of God lacks validity or significant reverence.
Incidentally, God does not grant individual freedoms within the context of legal rights. The government of the nation in which the individual resides grants individual freedoms and liberties.
It does appear as though you would be best served by taking your own advice and not assume that ALL people do believe and should believe as you have elected to believe. At no point have I required anyone to accept my PERSONAL belief and maintain the same level of PERSONAL relationship with God. I believe MY relationship with God is strong enough that it is not necessary for me to force MY spiritual beliefs on ANYONE.
Consider yourself fortunate that I have elected to ignore the fact you are too ignorant to recognize your need to utilize spell check.
God created all and does give freedom to everyone, and you didnt ignore, to elect to recognize my need for spell check, but I guess it was gooder enough to understand, or not. Love ya, and would like to know one more thing, if you dont mind. The bible, you say is a myth, how do you know anything about God if it werent for that false book as you call it? Where did you hear the so called truth from, men, another book, where, or just your thinking, really I would like to know, where did your knowledge of God come from?
mzchief are you there?
