Lubbock County Judge To Personally Fight Obama United Nations Troops!
Judge Tom Head:
[Obama] is going to try to hand over the sovereignty of the United States to the UN. Okay, what’s going to happen when that happens? I’m thinking worst case scenario here.Civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war maybe. We’re not just talking a few riots here and demonstrations. We’re talking Lexington-Concord take up arms and get rid of the guy.
Now what’s going to happen if we do that, if the public decides to do that? He’s going to send in U.N. troops — with the little blue beanies. I don’t want ‘em in Lubbock County. Okay. So I’m going to stand in front of their armored personnel carrier and say ‘you’re not coming in here’. “And the sheriff, I’ve already asked him, I said ‘you gonna back me’ he said, ‘yeah, I’ll back you.’”
Man, that's a whole different meaning to "get your guns up!"

I can't really argue with 1227's point. Republican politicians ought to know that every stupid remark they make publicly, no matter how small the practical impact, becomes the media's Movie of the Week. The federal government's trillion-dollar deficits, meanwhile, go largely unnoticed. Go figure.

At some point we are going to have to move past the social issues that seem to take up so much space in our political discourse and tackle the more pressing issues facing our great nation.
We all have strong opinions on the social issues and if you break it down, those are the only real differences between democrats and republicans. They tend to agree on 85 percent of everything else, but you say one of those magic buzz words and they forget how to have a civil conversation.
If we allow ourselves to stay distracted the tragic miscarriage of justice that was Randy Travis' arrest will not get the attention it deserves.

It is worth noting that Judge Head is a JP, not a judge with rigorous legal training (or even a high school diploma if I had to guess).
