Here's What Is Coming

He inherited two wars and a Depression.  If you want to see what a political machine the GOP nominee (whomever that will be) will face this Summer and Fall, just take a look at that trailer. Sure it'll just make most Texans pull their collective hair out, but for those across the nation who are undecided . . . .

Here comes the best CAMPAIGNER in U.S. history again.

LOL. Wag the Dog, Part II.

Sure he inherited two wars and a Depression. In the past three years, we have pulled out of Iraq and planning to pull out of Afghanistan, and those countries will now go back to exactly what they were before we left. The terrorists have won in both instances.

As for the depression, the minor depression that he "inherited" has been turned into a major depression by his many policies.

Will this guy ever take any responsibility for anything at all?

Hey Barry, unemployment is back up to 9.1 percent again....where is your smarmy little comment about how Obama will surely get re-elected if the unemployment rate keeps going down at this rate?

wordkyle said...

And yet you still don't tout his achievements or his record -- He's the "best campaigner" and the beneficiary of a well-funded, well-organized "political machine." At this point, shouldn't you be able to brag about something Obama's actually done?

Anonymous said...

I don't understand the fervent hatred for Obama. I would like someone to articulate a specific, tangible way in which Obama's policies have a. left you personally in a worse financial position than you were 4 years ago. b. left you personally in worse shape as a matter of security. People love to talk in broad strokes about Obamacare and taxes and national security but those arguments are easily overcome when people are asked to give personal examples. Can't do it.

I hope he dies

Barry, I am now convinced you have never had an original thought in your life. Most of your content in the random thoughts comes from the ticket and that's cool, I love listening to the ticket. You then watch a propaganda film and proclaim the second coming. The trailer is a campaign film, what would you expect it to say? Should they have said we have a president that panders to the unions? Should they point out our president's mentors are radical, racist anti-semites? The material is available if you want to see for yourself but don't go to a liberal or conservative site to get your information. Watch video of his mentors' speeches and decide for yourself what type of people our president follows. The rhetoric from the left and right in this country is sickening. The voters are perfectly willing to allow someone to form our opinions for us because we have become too lazy to decide for ourselves. Too many people fail to realize that racism can come in all colors and that every candidate has an agenda. Align yourself with the agenda that suits you and understand a different point of view is not necessarily ignorant, just different from yours.

If you think that the current state of the economy is still Bush's fault, you are an ostrich with your head in the sand. There is no hope for America with so many refusing to see the truth. Deficit spending is not the way out of this slumped economy. It will only make things worse for our (and your) kids and grandchildern. Wake up BG. That is a big change for us.We almost lost everything we own. And you think I want this President elected again lol!!!!!! I want him out!!!!!

My health insurance went up 23% since Obamacare was anounced. Gas prices at $3.60 and rising with no relief in sight. Millions added to food stamp roles. Millions on unemployment (paid not to work). The world now knows that US is a pushover. North Korea and Iran with nuclear weapons. Trillions in deficit spending that my children will have to pay back. Solendra bankrupt after billions in tax dollars, GM still owned by government and union, NASA space shuttle scrapping (we now depend on Russia for space exploration), and many others. Any one of those is enough to make the president a failure. But he sure looks good and we have a black president. It is all worht it.

a. Over $3.50/gallon for gas is a stiff hit in the pocket book. His policies on exploration, or lack there of, are a direct assault on all of our pocket books. I agree that there needs to be a balance of safety with the efforts of exploration, but to throw the baby out with the bath water is crazy and costing all of us more every day.

point b. Matters of personal security. The over reaching ability of the TSA to perform illegal searches of my person without probable cause is a good place to start. I can then go to the gun running scheme that his Justice Dept. developed as a method to justify increased gun laws. Not only was this a direct assault on my safety, it was an attempt to deny all of us what we are entitled under the Second amendment.

Just so you know, research was not required. These are PERSONAL experiences!!!

Four more years, four more years,
four more years...

wordkyle said...

1035 - First of all, you overstate by painting opposition to Obama as "hatred." I have nothing against him personally. He's simply the latest in a long line of Liberal Democrats. The media didn't do their job vetting him because they wanted to help elect the first black President.

Your argument is one that's been tried before. When Obama/the federal government gives hundreds of millions of dollars to Solyndra knowing that it's going bankrupt, it's spread so thin that most individuals barely notice. All of his special taxpayer-funded donor paybacks work the same way. I didn't own shares of Chrysler, so does that mean I shouldn't care that thousands of bondholders, including teacher retirement funds invested in GM, had their interests taken away and given to Obama's union supporters?
The main aspects of Obamacare were timed to kick in after his reelection. Coincidence? Just like his Justice Department's dropping of the case against the two armed Black Panthers posted outside a polling place in Philadelphia. One was convicted of a minor offense; his punishment was to prohibit him from carrying a weapon outside a polling place for three years -- just in time to do it again for the 2012 election.

Amen, Howard.

If you are calling our economy at the end of Bush a minor depression, then you are just plain delusional.

10:50

How did Obama cripple the oilfield (or do you mean gas?) The current issues there are oversupply and high cost/royalty issues brought on by the industry itself.

11:04

If you will recall, the first time gas went this high was under Bush.

Yes, the movie and trailer are self serving and one sided.

The biggest problem the Obama haters are facing is that it is no more "lies" than their far right rant is, and that it will resonate with a lot of people.

The other issue is that Republicans need to admit that Obama is in office because more people voted for him in the last election, not because he played some kind of dirty trick or cheated.

Katy Anders said...

@wordkyle: I didn't vote him last time. I probably won't vote for him this time.

That's why, as you astutely noted, I commend him for his campaigning ability, as opposed to his governing ability.

Keep on repeating the right-wing garbage. The country is preparing to not only re-elect Obama but throw out many of the goofy tea-party Repubs that have blocked every attempt to actually improve our country. BTW - domestic oil and gas drilling are at the highest levels in a decade. Imports from middle east are down (and we pay half as much for gas as most of the developed world). End of the "No Child" crap has begun to allow teachers to educate again. Bush set the exit date from Iraq - Obama just honored that agreement. In our system the president does not control the entire government. Congress must get involved and cooperate, too. Despite the tone on this blog, our reputation around the world has improved from the cowboy, go it alone days of Bush.

Disagree all you want. Obama will be re-elected.

Anonymous said...

10:50, I'm gonna need a little clarification on this:

"I can tell you how my life has changed since Obamma took office, my husband is self employed and we went from living in 2000 sq ft brick home that we had to sale to living in a 600 sq ft skid house because our President nearly crippled the oil field."

Exactly what federal law/regulation/policy was passed by the Obama administration that "nearly crippled the oil field"?

Seems to me that the oil industry in our area is employing a LOT of people and there is a LOT of exploration going on. In fact, we live in an area that has missed a lot of the unemployment suffered by the rest of the country because of the oil & gas industry.

Just curious why Obama is to blame in your situation.

The Devil said...

11:10, Half of your points are no more than saying your favorite football team was good during his admin so we should re-elect!

"Responsibly ending the war in Iraq"--by following a timeling already in place by the Bush admin!

"attempting to reform Wall street"--We are giving out kudos for unsuccesful attempts?

"rescuing the U.S. Auto Industry"--more like rescuing 1 company by using taxpayer money, pencil whipping them through bankruptcy and screwing private investors in the process...not to mention giving more control of the company to organized labor!

"being strong on defense and foreign policy with solid work from Sec of State Clinton"--That is so wrong I don't even no where to begin!!!

Anonymous said...

My favorite team sucks.

THROW THE BUM OUT!!!!!!!!

wordkyle said...

Okay, let's go through these "accomplishments." -
1) Ended the war in Iraq. Wrong. Pulled American troops from Iraq, possibly prematurely, with the results left behind questionable. Time will tell.
2) Ended the war in Afghanistan. 1300 Americans killed in Afghanistan since Obama took office, with 2010 having the highest number of casualties since it started. Have you seen these numbers anywhere in the media? You sure haven't seen it in the headlines of Liberally Lean.
3) Tracked down and killed bin Laden. With tools established during the Bush administration, including CIA operations and "enhanced interrogation." Both of which Obama criticized (and/or threatened to criminally prosecute) while campaigning in 2008. Give Obama credit for saying "yeah, go ahead" after others did the rest of the work.
4) Bringing our country out of a depression. What a crock of bullhockey. First, it was never a "depression." The Depression was a depression. Second, Obama's policies have arguably extended the depth and length of this recession. His actions -- interfering in the market, choosing winners and losers, demonizing businesses and high earners -- caused unease and concern about the future among business owners. They sat on cash that they normally would have invested in business expansion, creating jobs and helping the economy.
5) Strong on defense and foreign policy - More bull. The results are not there. Pakistan is now more an enemy than an ally. Iran is being taken over by even more radical Islamists. Obama is preparing to share classified data with Russia to appease them, even as he left eastern Europe hung out to dry.
6) "universal healthcare" First, it's not "universal." Even with all the massive legislation, 20 million people still won't be covered. It's also much more expensive than we were told, as more realistic estimates come to light. With time, more and more controversial points, such as forcing the Catholic Church to pay for violations of its own teachings, are being revealed. Hundreds of exemptions to Obamacare are doled out like political candy to favored parties. All of these issues could have been addressed beforehand, with a proper debate. Instead the Democrats forced it through without debate or discussion, or apparently much thought. As we learn more about Obamacare, it becomes more expensive and worse for Americans.

Anonymous said...

Only one democrat president has been reelected in the last sixty years, and that was Clinton.
the colossal ignorance of the left will be the demise of this country.

Anonymous said...

10:35...Obama supporters assume fiscal conservatives hate Obama and while some do, I certainly do not. I strongly disagree with many of his policies but hate nor race have anything to do with that. In not allowing GM to fail, the Obama administration circumvented close to 100 years of bankruptcy law to appease the autoworkers union and buy their vote. Bondholders are secured creditors and their investment was virtually wiped out and their interest was taken by the government and much of it passed to the union. Unless some changes are made, in 2013 my employees (as well as myself) will suffer a paycut to fund the additional taxes for Obamacare. Since I am self employed, I am responsible for my own retirement and have invested in conservative, dividend paying stocks over the years. Money paid in dividends is already taxed at the coprorate level and through tax hikes, will now be subject to a tax rate of up to 42.5% instead of the current 15%paid on dividends now. Now that someone has given you specifics on how Obama's policies have had a negative impact on them, will you believe it?

wordkyle said...

Dang it. My reference to Iran above was meant to say Libya. Iran is the country that's developing nukes to use against Israel and/or Europe while Obama watches. (And gives classified data to Russia about the missile defense system that was designed to defend Europe against Iran's missiles, so that Russia can tell Iran how to circumvent that system.)

Bush's last day in office DOW at 7,600, today over 13,000. Bush's last 4 months in office private sector lost 4 million jobs, today we have 24 consecutive months of private sector job growth. Oil is a world market commodity, no president, or the entire congress can control oil prices. We as a nation use 18% of all oil produced but we are sitting on only 2% of the world's oil reserves, domestic drilling is not the answer. Right now, today, we are drilling more oil than any time in the Bush years. If you lost your job because of the drilling bust it is because of world oil prices, nothing else. The oil company that hired you will drop you like a hot potato when prices are down. Everyone wants someone to blame for gas prices, Bush took the heat when gas went to $4 and Obama is taking the heat now.

Both parties are Right-Centrists.

Each President and Congress just feeds of what the previous guys did. Just about every single idea that goes into action today in the Government did not start in the current administration. This is the same for most all previous Administrations.

So far, I have only been content with two presidents; Reagan and Clinton and they had major faults of their own but they knew what they were and people still use their policies today.

I will vote for Chuck Norris.

Anonymous said...

I think what amazes me is that most of the people who comment on here and want to blame Obama for all the "bad" policies need to remember a simple civics lesson. The President can not pass legislation. Congress is the only branch in our government with the power to pass laws. So all the so called "conservatives" out there remember that it was your Republican based Congress that passed just what Obama asked for. They had the right not to pass it if they really felt so strongly against it.

Anonymous said...

Why is it that every person except Biden that is talking in this clip has former in front of their name. So are they no longer a part of the presidents team. Does that mean they disagree with him...Makes one wonder..

1215 - Yours is the kind of comment that keeps me coming back. You simply ignore the four years that Democrats completely dominated Congress, including two where they also had the White House. Did you intend to ignore reality, or was it just a careless mistake?

1213 - Your statistics on oil are misleading, right out of the Democrat script. "Sitting on 2% of the oil reserves" is a meaningless phrase. Some estimates put the amount of recoverable oil under the United States at 1.4 trillion barrels. At the current consumption rate of about 7 billion barrels a year, the U.S. could produce enough of its own oil to last 200 years. Don't you think drilling for more oil might be the answer? (P.S. You can see here that oil and gas production are down on federally-controlled land, and up on private and state land. Does a "moratorium" on drilling by the Obama administration imply helping oil production, or hurting it?)

Anonymous said...

Yikes!
You represented the people as a DA in the past??

I hope you did the victims justice back then, because your political views, as some have pointed out, show otherwise.

Please enlghten us as to where President Obama is taking the "heat" for the current high gas prices. All of the MSM is too busy blaming everyone BUT Obama for the high gas prices.

These are the same people who, four years ago, were all after Bush because of the same high gas prices. Of course, this is also the same media who feels a trickle in their leg when Obama got elected.

The best thing that could happen to this country right now is to get Obama out of office and get a lot of his items stopped.

12:13 here,
The moratorium does not affect on shore drilling. It only affected future offshore deep water wells. Check out this article....
It did not change the amount of oil being produced.

Houston Chronicle: Moratorium does not affect "the 4,515 shallow-water and the 591 deepwater Gulf wells now producing oil and gas." The Houston Chronicle reported on May 28: "The administration's ban on approving new deep-water drilling permits for at least six months and the suspension of deepwater exploration do not affect the 4,515 shallow-water and the 591 deepwater Gulf wells now producing oil and gas."

242/1213 - Obama canceled both previously existing leases and scheduled auctions for new leases. New permits for deepwater drilling in 2011 were down ten percent from before the BP spill. From this article: "New wells - as opposed to any number of drilling activities involving existing wells that also require permits - are a critical measure of drilling activity because they represent the largest investment by oil exploration companies and offer the greatest potential for finding new domestic sources of crude. As recently as last week, Jack Gerard of the American Petroleum Institute complained that the Obama administration was still artificially slowing the permitting process." Given the previous point that oil production on federally-controlled lands is down, and the information above, does Obama deserve even a mention about increased oil production, other than that it happened despite his best efforts?

I will not vote to reelect Obama because his energy policy is to continue to send $2.50 per gallon to the Middle East instead of allowing drilling offshore, in the Rocky Mountains and allow the Keystone Pipeline to bring oil to Texas! He has chosen bio fuels over fossil fuels when we could get our energy sources from our resources, Canada and South America. Now prices soar over geo-polical in the Middle East. He was warned gas prices would go up if he opposed drilling but went with the far left envirnomentalists.
If he is re-elected and Obamacare is not overturned, employers will have to provide health care insurance for part time employees and their families. The trailer makes him look as though he is doing the right thing for the economy by bailing out the banks and GM union workers! He was not tough on either one when he had the power to protect taxpayers.
Groceries, health care, gasoline costs have increased while my income has not. He has had 4 years and 2 years of Democratic rule to make life better. He does not deserve another 4 years!
