Hot Lawyer Sues Ex-Fiance Who Is Also A Lawyer

This Is The Hot One

Sheesh.
Lauren Serafin’s wedding was set — dress purchased, Ritz-Carlton reserved, honeymoon to Bora Bora booked — when her fiancĂ© called it off, according to a lawsuit filed Friday in Cook County Circuit Court.
Serafin, a Chicago attorney, alleges that her ex-fiancĂ©, Robert Leighton, now owes her $62,814.71 in expenses for a wedding that never happened because of his “breach of promise,” according to the lawsuit.
Uh, oh. What happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas.
[I]n July 2010 the couple’s relationship began to deteriorate after Leighton went to Las Vegas for his bachelor party, the lawsuit states.
Serafin’s lawsuit alleges that while in Vegas Leighton had sex with another woman. She became suspicious after reading text messages on her phone and when she questioned him about his activities on the Vegas trip, he tried to move out of the home they shared, according to the lawsuit.
The lawsuit states that Leighton at first denied anything happened in Vegas, but later admitted that he “hooked up” with the woman and that he no longer wanted to marry Serafin.
Wait a second, he goes wild in Vegas and the he calls the wedding off?

She should have chopped his man parts off.

Not saying she doesn't have a a valid gripe, but, if you're going to find out your fiance is whoring around, isn't it better to do it before your married? The cost of that divorce would've been higher than $60K.

It is good that he called off the wedding beforehand. Often the idea of marriage is much better than the reality of it. Stay single, enjoy Vegas...guilt free.

She should be happy to be rid of him before the marriage.

The prospective groom goes to Vegas makes sexy-time with some random skank and correctly determines he is not ready for marriage and the prospective bride is pissed he fessed up that his ex-fiance' is not "the one" for him? First of all, who, in their right mind, shells out $62,814.71 for a wedding? Secondly, was the horn dog, ex-fiance' aware of much less agreed to the $62,814.71 wedding charges? Thirdly, was his Vegas behaviour TRULY out of the blue?

I think mzchief has the cromulent analysis on the matter. On target and dead center.

Another ridiculous lawsuit plugging up the judicial system. But what do you expect.........it involves lawyers taking advantage of their own toy; the "justice system", which is impossible for the "average Joe" to be able afford justice.

Love is blind, Marriage is a real eye opener.
Barry,
Did you just have a senior moment with the remote, or did the dog pee in the bed?

Note to those engaged/married... it's bad form not to stop dating when you've found THE ONE! I don't believe the case warrents litigation, but I do believe the guy should man up and split the expenses incurred to that point in the nuptial plans. Or brand him a douchbag to spare future heartache.

I'll take her

Probably he decided to screw the girl the fun way that cost him less than$200. Otherwise the ex-bride would be screwing him for $62K and would be there everyday.
She's an idiot anyhow, as evidenced by her cost of wedding and lawsuit. I applaud this man. He should have broken up with her just before hooking up, though.

Well if he has to pay for it all he should get to have it all. I am sure that some of it could have been canceled or changed to another date. I am not saying there werent cost to changing them but I am sure it wouldnt have been $62,000.
