Bald Girl Seeks Your Vote

I don't know much about the Jack FM "March Baldness" contest other than you can vote for the best bald headed guy or girl. I was told this morning that Ellischa, pictured above, grew up in Bridgeport and has battled cancer (or some type of disease) for a while. (That explains the baldness.) She's one of the finalist or semi-finalists in their online contest. Go vote or I'll kidnap your pet. Maybe someone out there can fill me in on her background. Edit: She suffers from Alopecia areata. And she even made an appearance in the comments.

Eillischa is my granddaughter and her mother was raised in Bridgeport.Eillischa does not have cancer, thank goodness, she has Alopecia Areata which is hair loss and hers is complete hair loss that will never grow back. She entered this contest to bring awareness to her disease which affects alot of young girls and women. The round she is in right now ends today at 5pm and she is behind, she needs votes now.

Barry.....she does not have CANCER!! She has alopecia universalis. She was thrown from a horse at 15 and her body attacked the hair follicles and it all fell out within 5 months. She does not nor has not battled cancer and I hope she never does!! Just wanted you to get the facts straight!!

She is a beautiful girl and very confident in herself so please go vote people of Wise County!!

This is Eillischa. I just wanted you to know I'm lucky enough to not have cancer. I have a disease called Alopecia, it happened after I fell off a horse July of 2006. I didn't grow up in Bridgeport, but my parents graduated from BHS and my whole family lives in that area. Thanks for the blog. Please vote for me!

Wish this had posted sooner so I could vote several times. She is a beautiful girl and deserves to win if for no other reason than she has the confidence to "strut her stuff" and raise awareness of her disease! Remember, God made a few perfect heads then covered the rest with hair!

The voting is over and she did not advance, but it was a good experience for her. Everyone needs to learn more about Alopecia, since it strikes more people than you might think. There is a small child in Bridgeport born with no hair and her cousin grew his hair to make her a wig. Thanks
