If I can interpret the above paragraph, it means: "The Texas courts found the law criminalizing sodomy to be legal even under the U.S. Constitution. But since it was the federal courts that subsequently interpreted the law to be in violation of that very same constitution, what Congress should do is to prevent the federal courts from hearing sodomy cases. That way, Texas courts would be the exclusive forum and they can interpret the federal constitution the way we want."

Texas Republicans need to keep their noses out of my bedroom. I'll enjoy my husband any way I want and it's none of their business. Sodomy isn't just for gay couples you know. I can't believe I said that- Geez, I've invaded my own privacy.

The one that always makes me chuckle is the move to have English declared as the official State Language. So in another 15 to 20 years when the Hispanic Population takes over the voting in Texas, no one is going to have a problem with the voting majority changing the official language to Spanish? There are Democrats out here who will tell you they agree with the platform. Why are Repubs getting their balls busted? The far left is the problem with Society, hell, even a lot of Demos are not as far left as Obammy and Clinton. It's typical though, whats O.K. for the Liberals is not for the Repubs. Republican don't know or care what their state party platform says (most don't even know there is a party platform). Some who do know parts just ignore them because they think the other guys' platform must be worse. Platforms just don't really matter (except to pointy headed party junkies). Candidates define themselves and their own positions.

4;49 - Repubs are getting their "balls blasted" because it's their platform; you won't see anything like that on the Dems. The Texas law was not against sodomy on the street corner, doofus. Indecent exposure, among other things, apply to that. The Texas sodomy law was indeed about PRIVATE ACTS.

Lots to disagree with in the Republcian platform. I certainly don't agree with all of it.
On the other hand, I actively disagree with most of the Democrat platform.
It encourages illegal voting by non-citizens.
It gives unions power over business - even mom and pop, privately-owned businesses.
It embraces UN mandates on the "global warming" [theory] that would kill the economy.
Worst of all, in typical Liberal fashion, Texas Democrats say race and color should not be a factor in decisions - other than to award addtional taxpayer-provided healthcare benefits and preferential government economic assistance -- while using race as a criteria in jury selection.
I'm not for Republicans, per se, as much as I'm against Libeal Democrats.

The human digestive tract is designed for processing food not for sexual gratification. God created the human body and gave us laws for taking care of it. I do not believe that his laws are an obstacle cource to prove that you are Jew or Christian but they are based on his superior knowlege of human health and human bahavior. Until recent times in American history our laws making sodomy a crime were based on the laws of God. But now our laws inspired by the laws of God are voided by the United States Supreme Court. How can any Jew or Christian believe that God was wrong or changed his mind. I do know that a verse or a part of a verse in the Bible can be taken out of its setting and be made to appear to teach the opposite of what it really means. It is easy to misquote almost anything to produce a desired effect or opinion. Misstating God's word, however, is morally wrong. I don't know what will happen to this country. Maybe the Muslim nations will take us out with a few HE uranium devices they walk across our southern border or maybe it will be a more vicious strain of the aids virus. I do believe that a hard rain is going to fall.

sodomy is illegal in most states, it's called crime against nature.
2:19 - You're wrong. Texas and about 10 other states had law that made sodomy illegal, and in 2003 the SCOTUS ruled the TX law was unconstitutional. THe laws were used against gays, but as duly noted here, sodomy is a sex act that gays and straights may enjoy in the privacy of their homes and since 2003, need not be afraid of breaking an archaic law.

I would assume a typo in 6:42's argument but it appears twice. There are approximately 400 species of microrgamisms in the human digestive tract of a healthy person, not 4,000. Those species that are acid tolerant live in the upper sections and those that are not as tolerant live in the colon. Homosexual activity introduces many more, frequently pathogenic. Yes, God put good bacteria there to help digest food, just as he put them in the soil where they help break down organic material that can then be taken up as nutrients by plants. Even the lowley termite has them in its digestive tract. They break down the wood that this genera ingests. Bacteria are everywhere and without them we die. On the other hand, if you put them where they don't belong, you might die also. So 6:42, when you get your bachelors degree in microbiology, I will be happy to discuss this in more detail. In the mean time you might sit on your butt and keep your mouth shut.

Okay you church types. If there is so much sexual prohibition then why are so many families affected by sexual abuse in the home? One of the ten commandments says thou shall not covet thy neighbors wife, so what? Screw your children instead? This is freakin sick and horrifying, but sadly, it's a disgusting cycle that repeats itself from generation to generation. This is a much bigger problem than 'deviate sex'. Maybe if some of y'all weren't so repressed sexually this issue MIGHT not be such an epidemic. Maybe this is closer to the root of the problem. Why not introduce some legislation that offers mandatory castration or permanent genetalia disfigurement by sex crimes perpetrators and quit worrying about what acts couples enjoy in the privacy of their own homes?
Castration has little or no effect on sex drive and ability of offenders.
