It Wasn't Because He Was Guilty As Sin
The Barbee guy was convicted today of capital murder for killing his ex-girlfriend and seven year old child. This caught my eye from the Star-Telegram:
Shortly after [the judge] called a lunch break, a woman who identified herself as Jodi Fratta said she was a spokeswoman for Barbee’s family and spoke to reporters.
Fratta said the family blames the guilty verdict on the unwillingness of Barbee’s attorneys to listen to their ideas.
“The family still loves him and believes in him,” said Fratta, adding that his family believes that Barbee is innocent. “The state of Texas didn’t convict Stephen Barbee of capital murder, his own attorneys did.”

I agree with you Barry. i saw the same thing and wondered where they've been lately. Honestly, it doesn't matter how good of an attorney he had, this guy is doomed and should die!
no his attorney's didn't convict him, he convicted himself. Sorry piece of crap.
this man killed a young mother and her young son WHAT THE HELL DID HIS FAMILY EXPECT. GUILTY WAS THE RIGHT SENTENCE THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE WITH THAT IS THAT IS THAT HE WONT SUFFER AS THE YOUNG MOTHERS AND SONS FAMILY HAVE I THINK THAT AND THAT ALONE IS THE BIGEST INJUSTICE IN THIS WHOLE MATTER MAY THE LORD BLESS AND KEEP THE FAMILY OF THE DEAD IN HIS ARMS AND MAY THE KILLER FRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just wondering...were they paying an attorney or were they court appointed? Not that it makes a difference. But if they were paying them couldn't they have fired them..or is this just sitting up some appeal thing?
Well guess what, I met Barbee in the police academy in 1990. YES, the police academy. Luckily no one was stupid enough to hire him as a police officer. I've since spoke to several of my academy class mates who all agree that he was "something" (wasn't sure what) looking for a place to happen. Wasn't a bit suprised when I first heard the news about what happened.
I to anon 7:21 had run in's w/ barbee in the construction end....piece of work just a matter of time, sorry it happened to the lady but what a ho keep your legs closed.
I saw her on the news and died laughing! What an idiot! After reading the article in the FWST, it makes me think his mother has a few screws loose too. Reckon he or his mother killed Steven's older siblings?
How she could be so nuts as to address the Underwood family claiming she understood their pain since she lost a daughter who was pregnant too is beyond me! Sounds like his family and friends are all way out there. Too bad we can't put them all in one big room and turn on the electricity to that and see them all fry.
Steven is pretty cute though. I'll bet he'll find another wife in prison. I can only hope there will be many big hairy men who will find him VERY attractive. They can pass him around until he get's the last injection.
I agree with 7:29 a.m. It is sad she had to die, but she was a ho. She plays a part in her own son's death too.
