The Campaign For DA

I May Lose My Mind Before Christmas

I just reviewed a police report. It is cocaine case where the alleged weight of .6 grams of cocaine (which includes the weight of the baggie. The DPS chemist will weigh it without the baggie so we are talking about a minuscule amount.) A Sweet-n-Low packet weighs one gram for comparison. The guy is so poor that he has a truck worth $400.  And the deputy wanted to seize it and give it to the government.

And the lawyers up at the courthouse accepted the case and have filed a lawsuit to take the vehicle.

Is it against the law or not butt wipe?

When did Judge Dredd migrate to Wise County?

Anonymous said...

You left one reference to his name!

The guy is so poor, but has money to buy drugs. Go figure.

The guy will probably get probation but without a truck he won't be able to meet his probation requirements and will be jailed. We will pay for that and we will pay for his welfare when he gets out. He will have no way to work when he is out without a vehicle so they will charge him with Jay walking or loitering and a vicious cycle will begin.

Break the law (any law) and watch the protect and serve group become the confiscate and redistribute group. Why? Because they can. Who's going to stop them and at what cost?

Be willing to have your assets siezed. This is the redistribution of wealth our leadership wants. Your rights are not important.

I don't understand your reasoning? said guy is poor, so lets not prosecute him?
Are you sure you want to be the D.A.? you do realize that job requires PROSECUTION

The bad guy shouldn't have been such an arse on the side of the road.
That is my guess.

False Compassion once again.

Very typical of a liberal.

Half a gram ain't nothing to thumb your nose at!

The old truck is confiscated by the deputy, does the department sell the truck keeping the money? How can the departmentime use the money? Trying to understand why the property would be taken.

Anonymous said...

Why exactly are they trying to seize the truck? Is it evidence? Did he not pay a fine?

Just how much of that .6 grams does it take for an individual to become inebriated or "high" to the point of being a danger to himself or others (honest question because I have no idea)? Maybe that should be considered as well. As aforementioned, the man was labeled poor, but he seems to be able to afford the drugs. Maybe the courts will help him get his priorities in order.

Our illustrious DA at it again. Ridiculous.

Where can I get a few Barry Green political signs?

Anonymous said...

Green,
Would you please post a list of the laws you wont enforce as DA so I will know where the line is when I go on a crime spree up there?

The courthouse Republicans who hate socialism will seize his truck, sell it, then feed, house, and medically take care of him in the State Pen at our expense. He won't have to pay for a thing and maybe even get an education.

10:37, It isn't not prosecuting the crime, he will face judgement on that. This is Civil Forfeiture run amuck. It's stealing his property with a badge and gun. The civil forfeiture laws were enacted to take away the spoils of drug dealing (yachts, boats, mansions, ect) but your local yokel police and prosecutor want to take this guy's $400 beater vehicle. Hardly a spoil of drug dealing, wouldn't you say? This certainly isn't applying the statute in the way it was intended to be. Who's the bigger criminal here, the drug addict or the government?

As 10:17 and 10:26 point out, taking this truck is going to cost the taxpayer more in the long run. But the police and prosecutors don't care about that.

When did the Rhome police take over wcso?

Drugs are bad....mmmmmkay.

We used to get a hard day's work out of idiots that ended up in prison. Chain gangs, road crews, rock breaking, prison farms, etc. Which side of the isle do you think did away with those ideas??

They found .6 grams? How? More than that much falls off my mustache when I blow my nose.

"The law west of the Trinity." Good grief....I've always had a problem with cops that make felony cases out of low-hanging fruit.

The voters in wise county want a DA who will enforce the laws not some willie nillie panty waist bitch who will be sympathetic to the scourge of the earth just so they can go back out in public and get high again!

Anonymous said...

You know what...we are sick of the drug people...I don't feel a bit sorry for the sucker.

Anonymous said...

Not sure you should be our DA...we need people to be held accountable.

The truck he was transporting the cocaine in is worth $400.00. The truck he actually has at home?....

I'm glad you got your money back from the Republican Party. No since in wasting money on a race you can't possibly win. You are publicly saying that the cops and DA are treating this "Poor" fella in such a bad way. What if, the guy continues down the road and kills a family, intoxicated on cocaine, would you still want to let him go. That Deputy did some good PROACTIVE police work. Maybe your upset, because he didn't kill anybody, therefore your hourly rate isn't as high. Maybe you should just stick to what you know..... Bad mouthing the good guys, and collect your fee. Cops do keep you in business!

And this is why Donald Trump is leading the polls. Not once did Barry ever say he wanted the guy be let off scot-free, not once did he say he wouldn't prosecute the person. He's simply pointing out how ridiculous it is to take the man's truck. But none of you half-wits see that, you'd rather throw a guy in prison for ten years for a tiny bit of cocaine than give him a chance to rehabilitate himself. The high and mighty Republican party is so afraid of Sharia law but they're turning this damn country into a Christian version and dragging it straight to hell.

So it never occurred to you that he didn't actually buy .6 gr of cocaine? That at one time that baggie probably had some quantity of cocaine greater than .6 gr?

Tell me you're not that damn stupid.
