Exactly What Does Our Governor Mean?

The Supreme Court says there is a constitutional right that requires state governments to issue marriage licenses to same sex couples. I agree it was a long and complicated opinion, and this constitutional law stuff is hard, but someone explained it this way:

Let me attempt to summarize....

"See the Supreme Court of the United States"

"See the Texas governor"

"See the ruling by the Supreme Court"

"See the governor's dumb response"

"Governor has typo in response"

"Governor cannot read"

"Dumb governor, dumb"

"See governor get his picture taken"

"See happy governor"

"The end"

I think that covers the salient points.

Gayism is simply an evolutionary branch of the tree that ultimately will prove not to work and consequently wither and die off.

I'm pretty sure gay marriage extends to the entire county.

So if your religion doesn't prohibit gay marriage, where is their "religious liberties"?

Why do Republicans say they want less Government but wants the Government to monitor what happens in our bedrooms?

Thank goodness it is over. Not because I give a rat's A$$ about whether gays get married. Now, hopefully, straight America can stop being bombarded with propaganda about the issue. Enough. Be gay. Get married. Get divorced. Keep you business to yourself.

I love this. For one, it helps with population control; and secondly, I don't give two shits about people getting married. If you want to get married, get married. If you don't, don't.

I love how religious people get all worked up over this. Who cares? "Because its the moral decay of the American people...marriage is a man and a woman" Give me a break. Maybe homosexuals can improve the current staggering 50% divorce rate. Maybe not.

Either way, I don't care and neither should anyone else. If you're happy, and it doesn't infringe on my liberties, then I'm happy.

There will be a time in the not-to-distant future when the Cross will ruled to be symbol of hate and bigotry--and will be outlawed if the country survives that long.
Before anyone laughs--we have seen proof of that line of reasoning with every PC issue so far.
If anyone thinks that the "agenda" will stop as of today and all of the homosexuals will cry, hold hands, backslap each other, love each other in peace and harmony and move on--then you are either being disingenious or are truly stupid.. This is just the beginning of the demonizing and destruction of the Christian life in the states--they were issued a Carte Blanc card today to really begin the onslaught.

I am not Sam, but I love green eggs and ham.

Does this mean the clerk could refrain from signing the license out of their own belief that they would be contributing to the act of homosexuality by signing it? Therefore allowing the marriage to become law without a signature?

Study after study reveals that homosexuality, whether male or female, can take anywhere from 10, 20 to 30 years off of someone's lifespan. With all the attention on smoking, which the National Cancer Institute says takes from 7 to 10 years off someone's life, why not the same human outcry on homosexuality? Here's a behavior that's killing people 2 to 3 times the rate of smoking, yet nobody seems to care. In fact, we are encouraging and affirming individuals into the "gay" lifestyle. Gay on, gay off .....nobody cares

I think the branches on Gays started falling off back around 1982 didn't they?

Oh, Oh, Oh let me answer that:
The Governor is saying;
all you unabashed libtarded homosaveian purist freaks are wrong.
I have just declared Marshal law and I'll be playing the part of Marshal.
I will be the cop at your swimming pool party, the taser in your light show.

I will be all things that you can't. That is what the Governor is trying too say. God Bless Him......................

Gays have tried for years to ram this stuff down our throats and now they got the Government to break it off in our arse.

11:35 This ruling has nothing to do with what goes on in your bedrooms. Lawrence v. Texas took care of that in 2003.

Sam, you are an idiot! That is all that needs to be said in response to your comment.

Due to all the gay marriage hype, I predict some homo just might want to legally marry themself.

I really don't care one way or the other. For the naysayers, how is this really going to change your life? Yep, just as I thought. It doesn't.

Just called Sherry Lemon from the Wise County District Clerks office. (From the words of Gomer Pile ... Surprise ... Surprise ... Surprise) she is not in today. They are waiting for "New Procedures" to be developed. When asked what could that possible be? Dead Silence ... Then .. uh ... the forms? Then asked how the form would change and why ... More dead silence. Wise County ... LOL

Sadly, SCOTUS did not go far enough. They should have said that NO governmental agency has any business in any personal relationship. Marriage would surely fit that. So marry whoever, whatever, and as many as you wish, as long as all parties are of age.

So now, there will be another half dozen or so cases, to decide all ancillary issues. Should have nipped it, nipped it in the bud.

For me, marriage will always be a covenant between a man, a woman, and God.

Best of luck to the rest of you.

Oh Barry, you sound positively giddy with delight! Are you hoping Mrs. LL will let you get a new outfit & your nails done for all the gay weddings this summer?

I want to marry 5 women.... who says I can't have a loving union with 5 women.... they love me and I love them.

Anonymous said...

For anyone to expect that they will immediately get a marriage license the same day or even a week following the decision is ridiculous. It is fully understood that each county agency will take a few days to account for this new decision and make adjustments in policy. There is nothing out of the ordinary to see here.... now scoot along.

If it takes 6 months..... then there is an issue.. but not same day.

You know It doesn't matter to me either way what is done., but aren't there more pressing issues in society today?

I think the county clerks use a software program with a place for the bride and a place for the groom. Perhaps that is the problem for two grooms or two brides unless one is a Transgender and they don't know what sex they are. So perhaps all the rush to marry is going to have to wait for software update.

It's called polygamy, stupid. And yes, it is against the law, for all genders now.

Think about insurance and taxes...

Before today, gay marriages did not qualify. Now, they will.

So going forward, gay marriages will qualify as "marriages" and will qualify for insurance.

IRS the same way. Filing as Married will qualify, thus, in most cases, reducing the Federal tax burden for married couples.

A three way you say...

It's ok, if it's in a 3 way... It's not gay, if it's in a 3 way. If there's a honey in the middle there's some leeway... The area is grey in a one, two, three way...
