For A Guy Who Allegedly Shot Eight People

That was one calm arrest scene.

Others were quick to recall the arrest of the guy for selling single cigarettes without a permit:

Perhaps the murderer didn't offer up any resistance?

Or does that not fit the narrative?

There's just something about this whole deal that stinks to high Heaven.

Good observation Greene. The difference being one calmly complied, one did not.

Maybe because the psycho white boy didn't resist?

cooperating and not cooperating, though I believe the force was excessive, in the case of the guy on the ground.

The amount of physical force used during arrest has less to do with the crime committed, and more to do with the level of resistance or lack of respect of law enforcement.

Yeah let's go there - let's discuss how these two arrests are different.
The Roof arrest
1 - The officers approach with guns drawn. They were sure they were making this arrest before they even made contact.
2 - HE NEVER RESISTED - HE COMPLIED THE entire freaking TIME!

The Garner arrest
1 - The situation was fluid and developing. Garner's responses and actions are what led to the "oh yeah, you're going to jail today" decision. No guns were immediately drawn.
2 - Garner DID NOT comply. In fact he thought he could argue his way out of the situation. I am truly sorry to clarify this for everyone but if you say "don't touch me" to a cop arresting you HE WILL CONTINUE TO ARREST YOU. There exists no Olly Olly Oxen Free option during any arrest.

Compare them all you want but they are not the same. Not today. Not yesterday. And not tomorrow.

Police didn't kill Daron Dylan Wint who killed 4 four people and then burned their house/mansion. Daron Dylan Wint brutalized those folks for hours on end before killing them.

Police didn't kill John Allen Muhammad the Beltway Sniper who killed 19.

Police don't kill all of the African-American males who commit murder at an astonishing rate compared to evil white people.

Did the white kid resist arrest?

If not, then maybe he could serve as an example for these street thugs.

That wasn't news---that was an advertisement disguised as news!! How much did the "pitch a tent" people pay for that ad placement??

Then you have Fort Worth PD doing bits... https://twitter.com/fortworthpd/status/613721208895307776

Why would you even arrest a guy for selling single cigarettes? Maybe you should arrest all people who sell cigarettes. Makes sense to me. Let's go ahead and arrest those who smoke them too. They are a public nuisance.

I can't get past the male medical commercial playing in the background talking about helping Johnny pitch a tent.

Barry......this post is a comedy act to stir it up. It's funny of the irony of the two images, but no intelligent person would fall for ironic twist of situations that the two pictures create.....and all the comments easily point out.

Don't believe everything you see on the evening news or from your favorite talk show host.

10:48 You're right, of course, but reason has no place on this blog, as its author moonlights (when not blogging) by presenting alternate 'realities' to judges and juries to prevent people who have done something stupid from having to be accountable for their actions.

While that mode of conduct goes with the territory, the blogger is unfortunately unable to divorce himself from the ethical bankruptcy of his profession when making commentary on the broader world. That Roof's and Garner's arrests have no correlation doesn't matter an iota when one can pretend to assuage his pseudo white guilt by throwing up a snarky 'compare and contrast' post.

No need bothering with rational discourse, it's all about the sound bites and images, my boy!

The liberals really wanted the cops to beat and kill this kid and be judge, jury and executioner on the spot. I guess somehow this would have made up for blacks shot by cops.

This is a good argument for concealed carry or open carry. When confronted with a gun, these lunatics become very passive. That is why Dylann Roof chose a church. It's why James Holmes chose that particular theater. Yes, I know this is a tough concept for you libs but trust me, it's truth.

Okay, so police are allowed to use more force to express their outrage toward the crime committed, without regard to how much resistance the suspect puts up?

Can I quote you on that, counselor?

Also, can I get your emergency hotline number? Because I think I'm going to be needing it super-quick.

True. But the image that's been imprinted on the psyches of the street thugs - by Jesse/Al/Barack/Eric, and by rap music, with the gleeful assistance of mindless white guilters, is that they are not subject to the same social protocols as decent folks, due to events that happened many generations before they were born.

And as long as the thugs behave as though they're not subject to the law, they - and society - will reap the bitter fruit that's being planted by the likes of Jesse/Al/Barack/Eric.

The cigarette guy was depriving the government of their cut (taxes) of the sales. That's why he got beat up.

The white killer did not cut out the government, he actually just put up a big cash win for them with trials, hearings, billings by the minute.

I don't think these comparisons are black and white...

Stop and consider the other narrative. New York cops , frazzled by their surroundings, are just a little more excitable than those laid-back SC dudes. It has nothing to do with the race of the arrestee.

As others have astutely pointed out, Gardener passively resisted arrest so the police were well within their rights to choke him to death onsite

BG,

Of course, you cannot be this big of a liberal douche, or this stupid.

I assume you posted the two situations, and your comment, in order to get people to post on your blog.

If it is the first, shame on you.

If it is the second, shame on you.

You should be better than this.

Gardener resisted arrest? It was a civil fine, no arrest was necessary except for the fact he wasn't white. You crackers will use any excuse to support bad cops and oppress minorities. You're in for a shock when you meet St. Peter and get the big detour.
