This Seems To Happen A Lot

Last week in one of my Random Thoughts, I casually mentioned a name you probably hadn't heard in years (and possibly never of at all if you are young enough). Then today we hear this about him.

Edit: Bud Kennedy pointed out on Twitter that Harold Taft and Icky Twerp died 20 years ago this week.

His son is in the band "Butthole Surfers".

What him all the time as a kid(late 60's and early 70's), and even named my first dog Muffin.

@12:25: That's Gibby's dad? Crazy!

Anyway, Barry, stop mentioning people we haven't heard about in years.
I hope there's not a pattern here...

WOW! Sorry but I did not know he was still alive.
RIP Mr. Peppermint

You should do a post about Obama.

Then an autobiographical one.

Wow, that's sad news.

Last interview I saw him on, he was asked "Tell me something about yourself that sets you apart from others, like Mr. Rogers and Captain Kangaroo."

His response: "I have a broader selection of Butthole Surfer albums."

Funny guy. Wish my kids would have known who he was.

I'll never forget the morning just before I left for school he said happy birthday to me and my brother on his show.

RIP Mr. P.

Met Jerry on several occasions during his years at WFAA. Funny guy in private, as in public. Could out-cuss any sailor. His son, Gibby, left quite a legacy at Trinity University, as well as B*******Surfer lead.

Farewell Mr. Peppermint. Muffin, Mr. Wiggly Worm, and I will never forget.

My Other Brother Darryl

I had the pleasure of meeting Harry Taft at Lenscrafters and he was quite funny he told his old joke about raining 7" yeah right the drops were 7" apart. 2 weeks later he passed away. Hard to believe that was 20 years ago, man time flies when your having fun.
