Story.
Edit on Saturday: Wow. ESPN says it is a done deal with the Aggies beginning play in the SEC next year. Just wow. And there's also a chance Missouri could be asked to go with them. Goodbye Big 12. We hardly knew ye.
I bet there's a real possibility that Texas goes independent.
Edit on Sunday: Wow. The SEC say "no thanks" today and ESPN (who has a major conflict of interest) says the deal is dead. Now there's report of "Not so fast, my friend.'

The big 12 will evaporate if a&m goes to the sec.

Rick Perry will support whatever brings him votes.9
A&M out
TCU in
Everyone wins
Aggy is incredibly dumb to do this.
And yeah, bring in TCU. On second thought I like this.... Adios Ags. Come on Frogs!
Aggies finally have the guts to do what everyone else in the Big 12-2 wants to do....get away from TU telling them how things are going to be done in their conference. Now they will soon own Texas being the only Texas team in the country's best conference.
Thank the teasips for this one and their tu network!
Gig Em!
Too late on TCU! Already going to the Big East. Houston next? SMU? UTEP? Tarleton? :)
sounds like aggies want to leave because they cant beat texas...or anyone else in the big 12. they certainly wont have any better luck in the SEC

Everyone acts like the A&M is the one courting the SEC. Have you ever thought the SEC is making a play to get a team in the Texas football market. It will make recruiting in Texas easier and it is a huge revenue source in television and now they will have a team to market.
anybody remember Arkansas on national level? Aggies in 5 tears will be same
Good luck Aggies. SEC will beat you down.
8:19, you mean the Arkansas team that played in the Sugar Bowl, a BCS bowl, last year? Wow...so dumb.
Aggies - out of the shadow of UT, into the shadows of Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Florida, etc.
Too funny!
Recap:
A&M beat Oklahoma, Nebraska, Tech, and Texas last year. I guess they just want a better level of competition.
Just wonderin'...what happens to that silly A&M pep song that only whines about cuttin' Bevo's horns off? Won't make much sense in the SEC.
We need fewer distractions anyway.
I heard Midwestern State wants in the Big 12
The discussion not being made is that ESPN has dirty hands should ther Big 12 fall. There ought to be some NCAA law prohibiting television powers making deals with schools.
But then again, the NCAA will be getting a piece of the pie, so they wouldn't have a problem with it at all.
In order, I despise:
1. UT
2. NCAA
3. ESPN

SEC turned down the Aggies!
hahahahahaha
Who needs Aggie jokes when you've got Aggie reality being so freakin hilarious?
HA HA! Aggie got jilted at the altar!!
I wonder if the SEC's legal team advised them to play their hand this way. Once the Aggie regents give the official okay for the TAMU president to shop around for a new conference, the SEC can rationalize with "Hey, our hands are clean!" That way the Aggies are the bad guys in the demise of the Big 12.
I'm a Pac-12 guy so what do I care? I don't know. I guess I like a good sports business story.
Why is TAMU crying about the UT Network? They would have done the same thing if given the opportunity.
