President Obama shows up at Dover to meet the caskets of the servicemen killed in the helicopter incident in Afghanistan, and he bans the press from covering the event. The White House then releases one photo and people go
crazy. You know, there is an official White House photographer who is responsible for documenting history.

Might want to get your story straight. They left the choice up to the families as to whether or not they wanted media coverage. The majority of them said "no," so they did not allow the media in.
Glad to see Obummer made sure that he got publicity out of it.
The man can't catch a break. Oh boo hoo, you whining, sniveling liberal horses ass.
How can you possibly believe that this was anything other than a self-serving picture?
Now, it isn't the White House photographer's fault, he's just doing his job.
But, if a scenario similar to this happened and it was George W. Bush, I'm sure the Democrats would be ALL OVER it.
"The Man Can't Catch A Break"??? Anyone who uses a funeral ceremony as a self-serving event is pond scum.
I totally agree with the writer of the article. NO PHOTOS means no photos. It is an obvious ploy to use the opportunity to display his patriotism when we all know he has none. More propaganda.
There are so many legitimate things to complain about with the President that it always amazes me how far some people think they need to go to find things.
If the guy ate eggs for breakfast, there would be 1,000 blogs shouting that this shows unfitness for office.
Clearly, the stuff like his wife's arms and his dog's religion are the real dealbreakers for those of us who are sane...
He doesn't deserve a break, with this photo op or a 10-day vacation either:
1. No budget compromise
2. No leadership between the parties.
3. No help with the stock market during his speech.
4. Big drop in popularity poll.
5. No big job creation as promised.
6. No drop in spending under his leadership.
Sure -- take 10 days off. You deserve it! sheesh
KatyDid:
It is called showing respect to heroes who gave their lives for our country and their families, who requested no photographers allowed at the ceremony.
I don't want the people who hold public office to "catch a break." This is the job they signed up for. Remember: Pimpin' ain't easy.
Both sides of the aisle need to be scrutinized and browbeaten at every turn to keep them doing the jobs that some of us elected them to do.
If they don't like it, no problem. Don't run again.
It's like Term Limit Natural Selection.
...and Bush always caught a break....riggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhttttttttttt! No future president will ever "catch a break" from the opposition. This is simply the state of politics in today's world.
Wow, I don't think it matters which president is in office. Whether it was G.W. or Obama, the comments attack whomever is in office.
Also, the picture is a fake. That really isn't Obama, it is actually finger puppet cutouts of the old "Wings" cast.
I thought he was going to end these wars. The only troops he has brought home have been dead...
He doesn't deserve to "catch a break". He sure isn't giving the american people one. He needs to slink away with his tail between his legs and admit he's not up to job in any form or fashion.
It's the terror of knowing
What the world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming 'Let me out'
Pray tomorrow - gets me higher
Pressure on people - people on streets
These are the days it never rains
And some wonder why a lot of us hate politics.
Sheesh.
@Scott: Is it the wing of the plane that is disrespectful, or the third shadow on the left?
You are trying WAY too hard, man.
Look, I didn't vote for our President Obama but I'm so sick of the out and out disrespect people show for the office. Yes there are huge problems in our country but feeding the frenzy by bitching about a picture where he's showing respect for our fallen is, well its just as childish as our leadership has been acting. Let's lead by example and show our elected officials that we can still behave like intelligent people in spite of them.
Photography is a way to tell a story. When a photojournalist shoots and image, what is the story they are sharing???
Was there a "need" to share a pic of the President saluting the plane without any other images being allowed? I think that is the key. It is the ONLY pic the white house felt should be released. The story of that image was all about the President.
Counselor, which side of the "Let us see the flag-draped coffins" issue are you on? With Bush it was the "Old school form of secret government" and with Obama it's "the guy can't catch a break."
Hey Barry?
I'll admit that the Right is overly zealous in making knee-jerk attacks on our current President (because are), if you'll admit that you were smoking just a little bit of crack when you wrote the title for this blog entry? The guy hadn't even found the bathroom his ride to Norway, before he had won the Nobel Peace Prize.
I was going to make the same comments as the other posters, so that's been covered already.
What needs to be addressed, however, is that the Whitehouse is allowing Hollywood to come out with a "death of Osama Bin Laden" movie. And I just betcha it will come out shortly before the 2012 presidential election. I also just betcha it will make Obama appear much more heroic than he actually was. All he did was follow the direction of his military advisers.

It shows laser like focus on creating jobs(for morticians)
Nigger knows he's in trouble come election time and he's doing anything he can for a vote.
A majority of the families requested no photos be taken.
Pimpin' out Fallen Brave Soldiers is the absolute lowest.
The problem was the families did not want the deaths of their servicemen politicized.
The President said no problem no press- no pictures on their return to US soil.
Predictably, he cut the competition out.
He's too much of a cynical political master for his own good.
He should have gone, let the word spread he went and had the press sec. talk about it and report the fact there were pics made of the President only- not the caskets and said pics will be stored for history and not published...
Katydid, I am not Scott. Surely, you are not that stupid.
Do you even know what the problem with the picture is?
There are way too many stupid people invading my space today
--SIGH----
Has everyone forgotten how Obama really feels about the country that he happens to be the President of? The man HATES this country. There are numerous examples, and here a few:
Won't participate in the Pledge of Allegiance. Won't wear a simple little flag lapel pin. He considers the Bill of Rights a Negative Bill of Rights. And you all know that he has nothing but disdain for the U.S Military, as do most wacko libs. Armed with these facts, do you really think he would sulute a dead American Soldier out of respect for his/her service? In Obama's sick mind, a dead American Soldier is a good one.
I learned all I know about respect for a president from Keith Olberman...
This isn't unusual under any president. White house Photographers typically take pictures when media have been denied access. Especially during "Historic" events. This has been going on probably since we invented White house photographers.
Plus, the family of the Fallen only has the right to deny their individual family member from being photographed, but since no one knows what remains belong to who then the Pentagon denied total access to the event, but failed to acknowledge this to the White House photographer. Who in turn took a seemingly tasteful picture of our leaders giving their respect.
KatyDid:
What part of the no photography request from the families did you not get? The families agreed that they did not want any photography of the ceremony at all.
They did not agree to have no media there, but allow the Presidential photographers there. Even the Pentagon did not send any photographers out of respect for the families.
Even though it does not show the caskets, the families or such, it still is a photo of the ceremony against the wishes of the grieving families.
I don't care which President did it. If Bush had done this, I would be completely against it also.
10:45 I get really tired of people like you who give the rest of us a bad name. Using the 'n' word is not what this is about and you demonstrate your ignorance when you use it. The color of the current idiot in office has NOTHING to do with his ability to lead. When you side-track this and bring in the race card, you demean the point the rest of us are trying to make. He is a poor and frighteningly incompetent POTUS, but the color of his skin has absolutely nothing to do with that. Please just shut up.
Well crud. The previous link was the wrong one. This is the one I meant. That sort of takes the starch out of my point, don't it?
I caught hell from the weenies last week when I said that the President doesn't respect the military. Do you need another example? Disrespecting the wishes of the families of fallen soldiers?
"The man can't catch a break...' He hasn't done anything to deserve one yet.
Whitehouse is allowing Hollywood to come out with a "death of Osama Bin Laden" movie
Is a Republican advocating that the government step in and mandate that a private company can't do something?
Cause that would be, you know, censorship and possibly socialism. But I guess it's OK as long as a Republican is asking for it.
Rage
Another example of Whitey keepin' a brutha down. Damned white devils!!!!
Katydid,
Your husband obviously is a woman so I'll do his job for him. GO DO THE DISHES! And leave the big talk to educated men. Remember, when you defend a Negro you are assumed to have std's and a drug problem. I suggest narconon or whatever you folks are using these days.
One of the seals killed was from Arlington. His obituary with picture was published here. Nobody is trying to hide anything.
If they requested no photos, then this pic should not have been published at this time.
God, The Secret Police has lost his gourd completely.
I'm surprised he can type with his white robes on.
Rage
12:37 -
You can't really be serious about that comparison can you?
The families were not trying to hide anything at the ceremony. They simply wanted a quiet time to be with their family member who had just given his life for his country. Just because they put a picture with his obituary does not mean they wanted media cameras all over his return.
I swear Rage you get dumber by THE DAY!
Signed,
Alter Ego Mz
Rage, Can you see the irony in your psycho babble? Let me clear it up for you. "White House ALLOWING Hollywood to come out with a Death of Obama Bin Laden movie". So the half White House is ALLOWING? Is a democrat advocating that the government step in and mandate that a private company can do something? I love a good smack down. Thanks....
12:37, only a majority of the families requested no photos. And that was at the Obama thing. While in the Senate and while running for office, Obama was such an ass and critical of the war in Iraq I would not want my picture made with him, even if I were in a casket.
the families requested no photos and one was grabbed that is disrespect plain and simple. the break i say we all give him one in 2012 we vote his sorry butt out of office
I'll tell you what I'm sick of, this right wing left wing crap. Do away with the parties and just do what is right for one nation under God. We don't need conservetives or liberials. We need people that love this country and the way our founding fathers meant for it to be. America, love it or leave it!!!
1:05 Exactly!!! The problem is liberals do not like this country, that's why they have to be beaten. Were any of the founding fathers lib weiners? NO. All there is, is black and white, good and evil, right abd wrong, conservative and liberal. I don't want to hear anything about the "moderate" or "independant" crap, those are just folks that can't find the courage to make up their damn mind.
God Bless Our Troops
By the way Barry, would you give me a break if i was in the process of fundamentally transforming your way of life?
1:02, you made absolutely no sense there man. And I don't even like Rage, but that was horrible.
1:26 here--add The Secret Police to the list of incoherents.
KatyDid - the new Mzchief?
Now now let's give Katydid a break.
She's young and lesbian.
1:26, So the irony went over your head too? I love it when Rage responds anonymously.
Thank you Mr. President.
Keep up the good work. I plan to vote for you again.
Smart women who speak their minds tend to put the freakout on a lot of the poop flingers here...
11:40 I soo sorry I called him a Nigger I ment to say Dumb Negro, spear chunker, jiggaboo, coon. watermelon eater POTUS.
Smart women is an oxymoron.
Obammy looks like he is going into his normal presidential position and suck his thumb.
What's up with everyone's hand on their chests except for O'Bama?
Did a Chester Chicken mobile go by?
Rage:
I wasn't implying that the Whitehouse NOT allow the movie to be made. The moviemakers can do what they want. I was sayng that the Whitehouse will be happy to assist Hollywood, because the Hollywood liberals will make Obama look like a hero.
Gern Blansten
Rick Perry's Day of Prayer is a bigger photo op than this.
If your advertised lifestyle is a Jerry Springer show stopper does it make your credibility go out the window?
Respect for the president? He has no respect for our country, our military, or our constitution! Why in Gods name (which he also has no respect for) would or should we show respect for him. He has been slowly flushing our country down the toilet on piece at a time. He had no right!
