There's a guest book on the first floor of the courthouse that I rarely look through. Just for grins, I glanced through it today and 99% of the "Remarks" are things like "beautiful courthouse", "love the building" and the like.
But I found a couple that provide some advice for judicial system and road grading.
Someone told me there was an entry or two about a child ghost that was seen, but I couldn't find that one.

I'm not white trash but I definitely agree that the judicial system in Wise County is a joke. You should hear how Dallas lawyers speak of the back-water inbred country rednecks that practice law here. Trust me, that only means that Dallas lawyers bend their clients over in a more sophisticated fashion.
They are gosts out here. I seen them. One time I was drivin out there by 7 wires and I saw a little one. I drove past it and it was in the road. I turned around to go catch it and it was gone. Nowheres. I think I ran over it. My wife was scared and didn't want me to catch it cause I got nothin to keep it in or feed it.

You were going to "catch" it? But didn't have anything to keep it in or Feed it? I've always heard meth was prevalent in wise county but this is proof.

Wise County and justice should not be used in the same sentence. The system protects the few.
If Wise County is so bad, so backwater, so hick, and apparently you are so sophisticated, why do you still live here?

Hey, I've heard the area beside a country road as a "bar ditch" all my life. What is "bar" about the ditch? I'm wondering. Anybody?
Aren't they going to build a new courthouse? Where?
Bar Ditch refers to dirt Barrowed from the side of the road to build up the main roadway during construction and over time was referred to as the Bar Ditch.
Jurors need to start voting not guilty then. Send these
"good ol boys" a message...
The county needs a blade operator who knows how to cut a bar ditch. Then maybe the roads wouldn't flood and washout so easily. It took 20 years for the county to replace rock on my road and without the ditches cut right the rock just washes into the creek.
They have a new Courthouse in the works and I heard it's gonna be called Cudes Crab Shack.

You should see the reaction when I say "barrow ditch". Most people are completely stunned. Proper word usage is lost in today's world.

As far as the new Courthouse, Commissioners are waiting for a run down body shop, rental place, hardware store to buy way over priced and dump millions into it. That is the Wise County way. Buy a dump and refurb a dump. Keeping the money local. Way to go.
12:43 - YOU can change things. Get on the agenda for the next commissioner's court meeting (you'll have to go through your commissioner) - make a heartfelt speech to the court that you WANT your taxes to go up because you WANT all new buildings for county needs.
Then don't GRIPE when they do!
