Brownsville ISD Prank Arrest Is Crazier Than The One Yesterday

The offense:
The students threw toilet paper onto the trees behind the school and wrote phrases like “Porter rocks,” “Seniors” and “Class of 2011” with shoe polish on school windows . . . .
And they may miss graduation. (Story). I keep telling you, it's not hard to get arrested these days.

THIS IS RIDICULOUS! Kids did nothing but throw a little toilet paper and shoe polish windows! GEESH...make them wash the windows and call it a day. Police and school officials need to get a life and quit harrassing normal kids. This kind of stuff makes my blood boil, and yes, it does smack of melinda reaves! what happened to the good ole days when kids could do innocent harmless stuff and people would just laugh and shake their heads? The world is just too hard-assed!

Not hard to get arrested? How about the other side of that coin. It's also not hard to stay out of jail. An amazing concept. Easy to think it's just a prank when it's not your property, or when someone else has to deal with it, or when you don't have to handle any consequences that come from it, such as an escalation or retaliation. What happens if some adult sees it happening and instead of making a call, walks over and says something to the kids? And what if they get spooked by that and do something more grave? I guess these kids had absolutely no idea that this was wrong? Not one of them thought for one second that "we could get in trouble". It was just coincidence that they did this at 2:30 A.M. 11:13, what's your address? Maybe somebody needs a place to do some "innocent harmless stuff".

Remember the water tower!

Bridgeport & Decatur students of mid 70's should recall this one.

12:00 toilet papering and shoe polish are not big deals. My kids used to t.p. houses and ours was tp'd many times. Just not a big deal. And shoe polish washes right off a window. You need to get a grip. It was innocent and harmless.

Somebody stole my goat when I graduated.Got it back a couple of days later. It was pregnant and had hickies all over its neck. Wait maybe it wasn't stolen.

The one in San Antonio yesterday was handled as appropriately as possible. However this one does seem a bit over the top. They should def have to clean it up as punishment though.

Gotta agree with 12:00.

It may not be hard to get arrested, but, in the instant case, it would have been easy to not get arrested.

We went to a small 2A school when I was younger. A bunch of the guys, got the coach's car and picked it up and moved it. That's just one of the pranks they did. Nobody was hurt, as long as nobody get hurts and they clean up the mess, what's the big deal, let kids have a little fun people. Kids can't have any fun or joke with anybody, it's ridicules.
