From NBC News Tonight: Who Will Challenge President Obama

There's not a single one of the four that can win the Oval Office. Who else ya got?

  • Romney is a Mormon, governor of State that had its own form of Obamacare, and had a video released yesterday showing him to be strongly pro-choice in 1994.
  • Trump is a nut, a birther and probably just throwing out presidential aspirations to boost his silly TV career. But I support his running because that brings us one step closer to Idiocracy.
  • Huckabee would win the conservative Christian vote (and those who are fond of Dad Jokes) but that's about it.
  • Gingrich is too busy writing books (17) and having wives (3).

Who else we got? Tim Pawlenty, Herman Cain, Marc Rubio and Mike Pence.

We are already past the one step closer to Idiocracy. That's how we got Obammy.

Romney is in the Automakers pocket.

Anybody seem "who's nailin' Palin"?

Anonymous said...

I seem to recall Republicans saying the same thing to Democrats in 1991.

You know, when you add those percentages together, it makes for a combined 66 percent. And I'm sure a lot of people will vote for anyone but Obama.

And before you mock the Republican candidates, remember that Obama was nothing but a community organizer who always voted "present."

The poll was among republican voters, not all voters.
You should look up the "voting present" strategy.

And thatis mocking? Don't think so.

Hmm...

2011 looks a lot like 1995, except everywhere it said "Christian Coalition" in 1995, it says "Tea Party" now.

2012 could end up like 1996.

Not sure ANY of the GOP lot has the right mix of sanity and charisma to bring folks to the polls...

The Republicans ain't got nobody. That's one of the reasons Obama will be re-elected. Mark my words.

And before you call me a liberal or a democrat, I have voted in five presidential elections, and voted for the Republican candidate in all five of them. The only democrat I have ever voted for is "anybody but Rick Perry in '06 and '10.

2012 will be a replay of the 1996 election.

Here's the deal. All the niggers will vote for him, because they are the most racist group in the country. A lot of young stupid people who wish for a free ride will join in. If they represent the majority, then in fact he will win a second term. You can kiss your great country goodbye. The tax eaters will have come to outnumber the tax producers, and that's where it ends.

Be very careful what you wish for. It just might come true.

Are you really incapable of doing math? Look at the numbers and tell me that this can be sustained

Thanks A Lot, Butthead

I'm not a Republican, but if I was, I'd go with Mike Huckabee. He seems to have common sense along with his moral values (well, as far as we know now)... and the guy is very appreciative of education. He has the leadership skills and an outgoing personality.

The rest of the Republicans who might run might as well save their money.

It's Obama again anyway. I think it's in the bag for him.

Dear Butthead,

Thanks for the post. I feel so much better now.........not.

Fundamental extemist have torn up the Muslim world and created terrorist. Fundamental extremists have torn up the Baptist Church and others

We seemed destined to create the same with fundamental extremists in our political system.

We need pragmatic problem solvers not idealogues as our leaders.
The problem is that only extremist can win the primaries of each party.

A genuine independent party is needed.

has anyone noticed that all the problems that are not being solved are caused by liberal policies.

Any one of the 4 would beat the heck out of the community-organizer-in-chief we're stuck with now!

6:44, Huckabee has some outrageous views about Israel and the tribulation and all that. He's libel to start the third world war in order to usher in the apocalypse. I'd almost rather have the Mormon. (I said almost.)

Even if he is re-elected, I somehow doubt the Republican majority in Congress is going to go away.

Better yet, I think the Republican majority is only going to grow stronger, and even the Senate will go Republican if Obama is re-elected.

Worse case scenario (Obama's re-election), we can at least take solace in the fact that our president won't have his way with things (although the idea of him appointing another Supreme Court justice is TERRIFYING!!!!)

What a ridiculous poll. Of the nine Republicans the survey offered, only two have declared their candidacy. The rest are simply people the media choose to speculate about. The poll results show the effect that media coverage has on public opinion. Look at the entire survey, and it's easy to see what the spin's been. (For example, the only person that respondents viewed more negatively than Sarah Palin is Muammar Gaddafi. Media's influence, anyone?)

If I had a choice, I would vote for anyone that didn't have an Ivy League education that had enough sense to realize our country is broke. A leader that would not have the (Do as I say, not as I do mentality) and could set an example of cutting back spending like most of us tax payers have.

Anonymous said...

Well, you are right Wordkyle - so why do gullible people even read polls if the media has such influence on public opinion?

Idiotic.

* Of those listed, Romney has the best hope of beating Obama. Due to the failure of MassCare, Romney is in the unique position to KNOW that ObamaCare is a catastrophe in the making. Unfortunately, the Crazy Christian Right WingNUT branch of the Republican Party have branded Romney a RINO and will refuse to vote for him. What Crazy Christians fail to understand, by having set, as a litmus test, a candidate's position regarding a legal medical procedure that will NEVER be repealed, they are assuring they will ALWAYS be responsible for a POTUS being elected who appoints LIBERAL justices to the SCOTUS. Every Crazy Christian who refused to vote for McCain is, in part, responsible for Obama being POTUS.

* Trump is a douche bag who views bankruptcy as a viable business plan. The US doesn't need another inexperienced, self-promoter with a god complex sitting in the big chair in the White House.

* Huckabee is a retired evangelical preacher who speaks to the American public like Mr. Rogers spoke to pre-schoolers. Mr. Rogers had no business being POTUS and neither does Huckabee.

* Gingrich maybe one of the finer political minds of our time BUT the guy has too much baggage and is a dinosaur from the past. As much as Gingrich wants the public to believe that his having been a part of the Reagan Era makes him Reagan, it does NOT and everybody knows it but Gingrich and his Echo Chamber Choir.

To anonymous 9:10...
You are ooohhhhhh soooooo wrong about Obama not getting his way if he is re-elected. Obama gets his way through regulation rather than legislation and will continue to do so if he is re-elected.

wk,
Could be Palin's own words, actions, quitting, money grubbing, family exploitation, and projected level of intelligence that has affected her negativity. Jus' sayin'
Uncle Wally

wordkyle said...

Wally - No. Perhaps the media's creation of that caricature that people have swallowed, but not "Palin's own...." Reality has been transmogrified.

10:05 - Because the public has been taught by the media that polls are news. Those surveyed are usually ignorant of what they purport to have an opinion about. They usually end up repeating what they've just seen reported in another poll, which itself was based on ignorance, etc. Pollsters should stick to surveys about soap, or something else that people actually know something about. The rest of us should ignore polls.

Anonymous said...

Wordkyle - I agree that the media has added to the "creation" of our view of Palin, however when she opens her mouth, it's her not them. I just don't think she has the goods.

And the media helps us "swallow" (your word) cariatures of others too.

The answer is to try to sort it all out and think for oneself.

Too scary a thought for most. Rush and his "dittoheads" attest to that. Just one example.

Anonymous said...

"Transmogrified" Really? (must have been on his "word-of-the-day" calendar, and wordkyle just HAD to use it!)

wordkyle said...

1140 - I'm a Calvin and Hobbes fan.

1138 - "..when she opens her mouth..." Examples? Something that justifies the viciousness of the attacks on her?
"I don't think she has the goods." A reasonable, valid opinion. Maybe wrong, maybe not, but reasonable (and not vicious.)

Anonymous said...

Wordkyle - come on, there are lots of examples out there of Palin's running off at the mouth - go look them up for yourself.

I think she's pretty, well educated and has the governor leadership background, but I don't think she is Presidential material (yet). She's still young and raising a family. By the time she gets through with that job (yes, the HARDEST JOB ON EARTH), she will gain a heck of a lot of maturity.

Then she should spend a LOT of time traveling abroad, familiarizing herself with folks and situations she'll be dealing with and spend time with the lawmakers in Congress. By the time she bumps up against some of the idiots in this world in leadership rolls, she'll learn to get a grip on her motor mouth...and LEARN how to handle the press. I'm not a Hillary Clinton fan, but she can handle the press like a pit bull.

I actually think Sarah Palin can do it and heck I'm a Democrat and might even switch and vote for her.

Anonymous said...

.and this is 2:33 again - it's "leadership roles not rolls:.........

My bad, plus old and senile.

Anonymous said...

Obama will have his record to offset his bulls___ this time.
Most anyone without skeletons
in their closet can beat him, if
they will call him out on it.

wordkyle said...

233 - You have the opportunity to prove your case, but instead you seem to be falling back on the "everybody knows" argument. Unless you add something else a bit more concrete, your opinion appears to be based on the caricature that the media has created.

(Incidentally, if you'd like, I can trot out a number of gaffes and outrageous statements that Obama has made over the last few years -- and which the media have ignored or downplayed -- so I'm not holding you to a standard that I can't meet myself.)

Anonymous said...

This is old and senile again Wordkyle, so be gentle.....

....go ahead and post your gaffes and outrageous statements that the President has made over the last few years......I CAN look them up, but be my guest......

Don't think anybody with any sensibility has "ignored" them...some choose not to continually focus on them. Some of us read them, ignore or internalize them and go on down the road.

It is pretty obvious that finding such things on the Democrats is a bit of a fascination to you....as a writer, I suppose this is part of your research.

Do you keep a list of "everything" said in the media about the Democrats and Republicans?

And since most of your posts are about your dislike of Democrats, may I ask if you have ANY other interests other than finding fault with them? Please list those for us and provide sources.

:-)

Hey Mzchief, shut up and go back into your hole!

wordkyle said...

711 - See, here's the thing. I said I could post Obama's faux pas, because they are readily available, folks know that's the kind of thing I usually do, and I could back up my claim if I chose to here. In other words, interested parties can usually check my work. Whereas, the argument that "what came out of Sarah Palin's mouth" justifies the attacks on her is not as easily provable, and certainly not evident in this discussion, despite anonymous claims. The claims are, as I said, based on a caricature of Palin created by the media, just as are the results of polls that purport to measure her (un)popularity.
