For months I've been hearing that once a video of a beating of a suspect by police was released, the public would be shocked.
Maybe I'm getting jaded, but I'm not particularly outraged. The guy doing the kicking needs to throttle it back a bit, but this isn't a Rodney King incident.

It's clear what happened. When he got clipped by the squad car, his jaw was dislocated. The officers were doing there duty by trying to relocate it with the tips of their boots.
The outrage is that the cops didnt even charge a fee for that.
BTW. WTF is a 'Quanell X'? That name right there is funny.
Run from the cops, you get your ass kicked. It's that simple. You know its going to happen. Dont think you get off Scot free cuz you got prone and didnt 'resist'.
If it were your child, no matter what he had done you wouldn't be getting jaded as you put it, you would be outraged and wanting something done about it.There was no call for a beating once they had him on the ground.
Do community activist always have to be black? And do they always have to speak with the same lilt in their Voice as Jesse Jackson, is there a how to speak like a rabble rouser class? Now, that being said, the cops were way out of line, that was above and beyond the call of duty. They must be wimpy as hell as well, I would feel like a wuss if I kicked somebody in the head 15 times or so and they still were wide awake.
If we hit someone running from our house with a vehicle we'd be charged with vehicular assault, considering that they are cops and the kid wasn't fighting back but ganged up on they should be charged with aggravated assault. Hope they took him to the hospital, but doubt it. This is why people hate cops, macho a#*(&##S
Hell I ain't even black or from the hood and I am outraged. I would not want any cops like them protecting me! Who needs enemies with cops like them! They should be fired!!! Pieces of shit! I would like to say that I do have great respect for lawing abiding policeman. They have a hard job.
I am not excusing the officers, but what happened prior to the ass whoopin that pushed the po-po's buttons? Maybe he tried to run down a police officer or something.
I'm outraged that everyone that sees this isn't outraged. I've seen scheisse videos that demonstrated more restraint. You heard me. I also find it offensive that security camera footage can be deemed by the mayor and the police to be "too upsetting" for the citizens to see (especially in light of my recently revealed viewing habits). If it's so GD upsetting, then why did the cops do it? If it's not worth firing them over, then what's so upsetting about it? I'm outraged that race OR racism has been brought up in the comments regarding this video. He was kicked no less than ten times and punched at least five, having ceased his attempts to evade (not resist) arrest -- for burglary. Those cops are jackals, and if I lived in Houston, I'd flip a Taurus and set it on fire. I might anyway.
It is fairly simple, you arrest the suspect. If the suspect runs, you chase the suspect down and make the arrest. If you cannot complete that task, maybe find another line of work. If you cannot control your adrenaline or aggression you need to find another job. It is the officer’s place to make the arrest and nothing more. There is a thing called due process and in that process, there will be those to judge and punish those guilty of crimes. It is unacceptable to allow those who already have authority to take your God given American birthrights to act as lawless vigilantes. For these people to act as if they are not bound by moral, ethical or legal code is a tragedy to our society. I hope the suspect and all officers involved in this incident are punished.
6:12 You are wrong. I wouldn't stand in the street and watch a person kick a dog the way they kicked that kid. But they're cops, so if you tried to do something about it you would be arrested or shot. Watch it again. Watch how many times they kick that kid. If you don't think there's room for genuine outrage over this, then I don't think that you're a decent human being. Or maybe you're a cop that likes to kick suspects. What I do know is that you're the kind of guy that calls the police po po. Which is at least as stupid as the name Quanelle. Which would make a great name for shampoo.
BTW, BG. I think you might be jaded if you're using Rodney King to raise the bar on what qualifies for excessive force. Also, King was on drugs and actively resisted (until he was rendered incapable of resisting). I don't consider that Southwest flight you took to be a real "flight", because some dudes went to the moon.
If he had ofbeen caught at your home doing whatever he did you could probabls of killed him.A good ass whooping goes a long way.Why should every policeman have to pysically subdue a person without hurting him?Bring on the tazers.
But really, who knows what happened prior to the beat down. Think of the worst situation someone could put you in and then catch them. One person may think it's excessive and another may think he's lucky to get away with just a beating.
8:36 Good point. I would remind you that he hasn't been found guilty of anything. So whatever he HAD OF BEEN doing might - just might - not have warranted a "good ass whooping." Also: "Why should every policeman have to physically subdue a person without hurting him?" Seriously?

9:23 Why should we think of the worst situation? He was a burglary SUSPECT who was laying flat on the ground. You're not the first person to try to make him sound like a murderer or a rapist who was caught in the act just off camera. That isn't the case. What YOU would do as an imaginary person in a hypothetical situation is irrelevant.
9:46 did you see the events that led up to this point in the chase? Go ahead and get sucked into the media and believe what they want you to. That video is biased enough.
10:14 No. Neither did you. You can't use the argument that something we don't know about MIGHT have happened off camera. There's no evidence of that. He was SUSPECTED of burglary. He ran, which certainly makes him look guilty, but I'll wait for some evidence of that before I speculate about other crimes he MIGHT have committed. I suspect you're biased. I'm going to call up some of my Jew media friends and speculate about that. Your Kung Fu is weak.
I've recently heard stories of local officers making people sit in anothers pee while being booked at the Wise Co. Jail while being booked in. Isn't there a law about bodily fluids hitting an officer? So why do they get away with not caring where they make someone sit while being booked in? I know their job is hard but reeaally! What is good for the goose is good for the gander. You want respect, then give it!

Once the guy is laying face down with his hands in the air, it does not matter what happened prior to this point. He's down, you've got him. Beating him is inexcusable. Period.

For once, I agree with Coach Rage. This is by far the most intellectual and coherent thought he has posted.

HOUSTON ROCKS!
Seriously, there are cameras everywhere nowadays. Who beats people out in public anymore? Sooo, last century.
11:10
Typical expected racist remark from the usual Wise County racist, what' new?
I didn't know Tom Bishop was moonlighting in Houston...
11:51
you are an idiot.
where is the RACIST remark in 11:10's comments?
no where is race mentioned or referred to in those comments.
1:26, Had the perp been caught running out of your house after raping and killing your wife, would you still have sympathy for him?
Sorry 1:26. That was aimed at 11:51

BG...please end your honeymoon and start posting like a rock star again or like a dude who lives in his Mom's basement.

What is "Had of?"
8:36 you could just leave the "of" off completely and sound not quite as ignorant.
9:29 I'm assuming you're making fun of 8:36 also so I'll let it slide.
