I Really Don't Understand Politics

When Len Wade stepped down from a district court bench last month in Tarrant County, everyone in Fort Worth scrambled to get involved in replacing him. Up until the next election, it's Gov. Perry's call as to who to appoint. So who does he choose? Thirty-seven year old John P. Chupp, an associate (not partner) in the small Guerrero Law Offices personal injury firm off of Hemphill Street. You google the guy and you get basically nothing. And not that it means anything, but I've never heard of him. You would think the bench would be awarded to some old time conservative Republican. I'm very confused. (For you tech boys, go the the firm's website and hover over the links to left and look where they try to take you.)

There are many qualified Republican attorneys who would be excellent judges in this court. Why weren't they chosen? Something to do with Joe Barton's likes and dislikes?

That must have been a BIG contribution check that Mr. Chupp sent to Cheerleader Perry to get that position.

Jesus...if lawyers got work based on website design, those guys would be out of business.

Times are tough, but I'm pretty sure this profession allows us to hire web designers right?

There are Republican attorneys? i thought that were all card-carrying ACLU robots.

Well, I learn something new every day on this here blog.

Skippy, It's obvious you don't know anything about politics since you bow down to Hussein Obammy.

Shocking, I say. Nutty Repub Gov appoints Dallas ambulance chaser to Ft. Worth District Court at a time when he wants to move right of Kay Bailey.

Sounds like we know who the high bidder was. Our very own Aggie Blagojevich.

While I know for a fact that one highly-qualified GOP lawyer was rejected by Perry for - horrors! - having once made a contribution to KBH, I for one am hopeful that young Mr. Chupp will be a breath of fresh air, seeing as how he is board-certified in trial law and has actually represented injured folks and tried lawsuits in front of real live juries...something many Perry appointees have never done (witness Don Willett on the Texas Supreme Court). I say give Judge Chupp a chance. He may turn out to be a good judge for us in Tarrant County.

It appears that the person who wrote the website forgot to make sure that the web pages are accessible to browsers outside of their server. If you are on the website server you can read the information because it is indexed on the server. When we try to access it, the web DNS does not know where to access.

Perry wants the minority Hispanic votes in Tarrant county and this appointment will help him!

Perry is desperate and going down this time.

You'd think lawyers could afford to pay somebody to design a website, rather than using "CuteSITE Builder Web." Quality software, that is.

Enough of this politico, judge/lawyer hootananny whatnot....Something happened in the Grasslands this past Saturday night; big enough to get Care Flight called and for some reason it is being kept all hush. Nothing in the update, nothing anywhere. All I know is it might have been a suicide attempt. Their ware fire engines, ambulances and plenty of cops, but I guess it wasn't news worthy.

Look at what his mother does and her activity in supporting Perry and the Republican party. You can always follow the money.

Suicides are not news.

They are considered a death due to mental illness.

8:16 guess whoever got injured/ whatever wasn't high profile enough or a public servant. Only their lives get attention when something happens to them. Not us common folk; we're expendable.

6:15AM, way to say alot and mean nothing. It does reference a "server" the links are pointing to the machine the page was created on.

Let me guess, you have a diploma mill MCSE, don't you?

8:49 hit the nail on the head as to why Perry appointed Chupp as the new judge of the 141st. It's still about who you know.

Maybe his mama can advise him when he draws an opponent in his first election.

And to think, many people believe that appointing all judges will result in a more qualified judiciary.

Your headline is correct. The remainder of us have known that for some time.

Doesn't everyone know that Perry is one dumb SOB? So why would this appointment surprise anyone? Perry is toast - finally. I certainly don't expect the Democrats to field a really competitive challenge to KBH.

I wonder how many of you posting these ignorant comments about Perry's appointment of John Chupp actually practice law or are active voters. I agree with Blue Dog and know for a fact that Judge Chupp will be a fair and honest Judge. Perhaps before you post your comments you should do a bit more research
