Half of the town of Sunset is burning.
What is sad is that every fire agency was fighting fires elsewhere. I called my 49 year Chico F.D. Veteran father to see if he on that Chico tanker in Sunset. He did not know Sunset was burning because they had their own fire on 101 with a truck to help another agency. That just tops the week for tragedies of the public servants, GOD bless miss you all. Let's get past his week without another situation.
montague county is up in flames...stoneburg, montague, and part of the outskirts of bowie is evacuated
It's snowing ashes in Bridgeport.
The Montague Co inmates are now housed in Wise Co again thanks to the fires...nursing home in Bowie evacuated as well.
WHO'S THE DUMB A** AT THE WC MESSENGER WHO DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO SPELL-SEE THE 'BREAKING NEWS HEADLINE'.
FIREFIGHTERS ARE BATTLING "WILDLIFE" ACCORDING TO THE MESSENGER. HOPE THEY GOTS THEIR HUNTING LICENSE.
That top picture is on Hwy 59 just outside of Montague.
Smokers do this on purpose.
Correction-they decided not to evacuate the Montague Co jail. WildFIREs are still going on-one flared back up and another one was announced on Bowie's radio station about an hour or so ago.The area sure has people opening up their hearts to people. Tractor Supply is even loaning out supplies. The fire is not good news, but it's nice to hear people are pulling together. Especially nice after York's display of humanity's darker side.WF, Bowie
i have one question why is it when they wont let anyone into the area they still let joe duty in i am sorry but if the homeowners are not let in then joe duty should not ne let in to do his photos
Joe Duty is let in because we gotta get the news in pictures. By the way, he does a good job.
WFAA-TV's Web site reported that former reporter Matt Quinn and his wife Cathy perished Thursday when fire swept through their property in rural Montague County, a family member said. Cathy's son, Chris, suffered burns and was being treated Friday at the Parkland Memorial Hospital burn unit in Dallas. Hospital official said he is in fair condition.
Really sad just south of Bryson. I was out trying to show some land when all of that hit. Went back today -- lots of dead cows trapped in fenced areas, wildlife. I saw 4 houses totally destroyed, and I'm sure there are more off the road that you can't see. Really sad to see people hurting that way. And still burning in several places.
What a freaking week, ready for a wet Easter.
