Wreck

The Update is reporting 114 being shut down at 51 due to a fatality. WBAP as referred to it as a Semi/Automobile wreck. Anybody know anything? I'd send my news crew out to cover it if I had a news crew. Edit: WBAP reports the highway was reopened around noon.

Don't know. But if it involves speeding, let's all remember how much we hate efforts to slow vehicles down around here.

I seen it happen!! I was walking my dog to the mail box to see if my welfare check had shown up and bum a pack of cigs off my sister that lives next door when I dog took off running and a wise co cop car tried to run him over but he missed and hit a oil field truck full of 20 year old Mexicans.

10:45am are you the person I see drive by my house on FM 2123 about twice weekly going about ummmmm 37mph(60 speed limit) with a line of a dozen or more vehicles behind you? That's a recipe for road rage.

Jesus Christ, you guys have a lot of car wrecks ending in fatalities in Wise County.

To 10:59. Better to arrive late than arrive at the morgue in a body bag you idiot ass!!!!!!!!

10:51 That was funny.

No, 10:59, I think 10:45 is the one that holds up traffic on 114 every morning due to being too frightened to drive the speed limit. You know it doesn't know how to drive.

Was a gravel truck involved?

Would it be a joking matter if it was someone in your family involved?

10:59, 10:45 here. Nope, if I'm in a 60 and conditions are good, I'm probably doing about 60, give or take a few if it's uphill or down. Did anything in my comment suggest I was a pokey driver or suggested we all should be? Going the speed limit is fine, roads are speed limited to account for lines of sight, access points, normal acceleration times for oncoming vehicles, braking distances, congestion, curves, surfaces, conditions and other things you might not understand. Driving at a speed well above a road's engineering compresses a lot of very important factors, and gets people dead. But don't worry, it won't affect you until it does.

I am genuinely disappointed when reading about traffic accidents, tornadoes, avalanches, landslides, plane crashes, or any disaster natural or unnatural in which there are not a signifigant amount of casualties.

no motorcycle involved?
speaking of death, anyone see the front page picture in the messenger? and to think she walked away with scratches? WOW

I seen the wreck also. a drunk guy was on a lawn mower with a wise county deputy chasing after him with a can of pepper spray in one hand and a donut in the other hand and he hit a rock truck.

barry-
totally think you need a news crew. maybe your law office could get a few interns together and they could get matching t-shirts made...I can just see it now.
It would be awesome!
**maybe they could even get a pic of speedo-man!!

12:12PM, a civil engineer takes in none of those things. Try the 85th percentile. So we get reduced speed limits because of slow yentas like you.

Speedo-man? Is he still alive?

It was God's plan or TxDots?

WOW, I passed right over the marks on the way home. It was dark and they looked pretty bad. You can sure tell something bad happened there. I'll catch them again in the morning for a better look.

The area looked very serious this am. Lots of florescent pink markings.

I have it from a reliable sorce that the woman that caused the ENTIRE WRECK simply didn't use the ramp to build up her speed...she just whipped up onto the road & cause this awful wreck that took an innocent man's life. Not to mention that poor guy in the truck that had no where to go either!! WTF?? Is it really that hard to understand? I hope they make that woman pay for her mistake that took his life!! I also hope his family can eventually forgive her!!
Have a great week-end!!

OK. We have yet another traffic fatality in Wise County at a very dangerous intersection and all most of these readers can do is make Wise County jokes.

You might be a redneck if.....
you become so desensitized to traffic fatalities that you make jokes about it instead of caring about who died, how the folks who lived are going to live with themselves, and the families of everyone involved.

Yep, we have a lot of rednecks reading this blog.

House of R & R said...

10:15 I was just saying the same thing last night to my husband! She should pay, dearly.

People pull out like that all the time. There's a turn lane there in order to access 114. Some idiots don't use it and, dart out in front of people traveling 65 to 70 miles an hour. I'm a bitch. When someone pulls that crap on me I make sure I almost run into them so maybe they get the message.

House of R & R said...

Yep, 10:26 I see your reading the blog too.

Has anybody ever sat on top of their house naked at night?

Anonymous said...

I drive 114 everyday and almost everyday I have someone pull out in front of me at that intersection and the majority of people do NOT use the lane the way it is intended. I am relieved when I top the hill and there is traffic coming the other way so that traffic from 51 can not pull out in front of me, because you are traveling 65 and have no where to go. So how many fatalities does there have to be before they will do something about it?
