Not Much News Today

There was the band member in Dallas that was shot in the head (but I really don't think Wise County would care about that much.) Although the new twist is that his girlfriend may be trying to blame the whole event on Chantix - a stop smoking drug. I know a girl that took that stuff recently and she didn't act any crazier than she normally does. The "I'm Not Gay" Senator is thinking about retracting his promise to resign and try to save his job. But that's an old story. Too many sports posting lately. And I know my faithful audience hates sports. Uh, it rained. Britney Spears hasn't done anything nutty in the last 48 hours. I officially lost 10 pounds on Nutrisystem.

How about the fact that the crazy Dianne "Franken" Feinstein is introducing a bill in Congress to amend the constitution to eliminate the Electoral College. Can you imagine the chaos? All of our Presidents would be elected by the populations of the largest cities, and mostly from both coasts. Do you think such a person would care one bit about middle America? This could also be just a huge public smokescreen to cover some other socialistic legislation they are going to try to cram down our throats. Be afraid; be very afraid.

Barry I bet you look HAWT now. Not that you didn't before. When will there be a new poll?

Congrats. Mr. Green on the weight loss, keep up the great work!

The StarTribune had a funny, if you will, article about Potty Police at the MSP Airport. Grinning reading material.

Food For Thought:If there is ever a BIG story coming out of Washington, you can bet they're trying to take our attention from something else happening. Just Good OLe Boy Politics. Not to steal your thunder but, Good Times.

10 pounds? Turn around and you'll find it.

I think there should be a Wise County calendar with a variety of scantily clad public servants on each month. Barry can be January, our county judge can be February, our Sheriff or designee can be March, Jana Jones can be April, Greg Lowery can be May, Judge Fostel can be June and Judge Cude can be July. Did I leave anyone out?

1:43 - People who live in the largest cities are generally more affluent and intelligent. Sounds like a good plan.

You're completely ignoring your female readers again. I demand some beefcake, Bubear.

Maybe you could post a picture of that svelte new bod.

Why don't we get something going on why the gas prices in Wise county are 15-25 cents higher than Saginaw, Keller, Midlothian etc.

I've quit buying gas locally unless I absolutely have to.

Let me start with a quote from Barry from a week or so ago... "Here's a question that no one asks: It's against the law to solicit/ask for gay sex? I mean, he wasn't trying to buy it which would make it a prostitution case. He was, at the most, asking. I mean, if the senator had hit on a guy at the hotel bar would that have been illegal?"

So, this guy solicits some homo loving. Barry doesn't think it will hold up in court because trying to pick up someone for sex whether it's gay or not is not illegal unless there id money changing hands. Under tremendous pressure from Repubs and Dems he resigns. Now people are bagging on the guy for thinking about not resigning. Funny how we have absolute proof that our former "president" had sex (depending on what your defination of "is" is) in the White House but never resigned, in fact his party stood behind him during impeachment and trial and now everyone would have us think he was the greatest "president" of the modern era. Didn't he do the same thing the Senator did? And then lied about it to our faces and then under oath? Yeah, I think Craig is lying but what he did wasn't any worse than what Clinton did and Clinton got away with it. Am I the only one who sees the one way street here? Surely even Democrats have to see the similarities...

Barry, may I suggest as a filler a photo essay of your former wives.

I think the latest census count would absolutely disagree with you. You may be thinking of the suburbs of the largest cities...

4:16 - How do you think Clinton got away with it????? He was one of only two presidents to EVER get impeached!!!! That's not getting away with it.
And of course he lied about it. He was cheating on his wife. Cheaters aren't honest about their cheating!! And you know what? I don't care. OK - he's a terrible husband. At least he didn't lie to the American public about why we needed to invade a country and start a war that is going to have devastating effects on our economy for decades to come, not to mention the loss of lives.....for what???? Iraq is more dangerous to us today than it ever was under Saddam Hussein. Now instead of one guy that terrorized his own people, Iraq is a breeding ground for those that want to terrorize us. Good work, dumb dubya.
Clinton looked good to me while he was in office & since Bush has been in office, he looks GREAT by comparison. How nice it would be to have a president that understood the nuances of this world & didn't live in a childish, simplistic world of black & white.

Clinton gets away with it because the liberal mainstream press keeps propping him up and making a point of saying that his sexual deviance means nothing, but let a Republican leader do something along that same line...oh my goodness and katie bar the door. Clinton also gets away with it because the mainstream press wants his wife to be president so bad they are losing all semblence of objectivity in any kind of political reporting. They just keep on propping his administration up as something great. How can you ignore the fact that he set us up for 9-11 by dismantling our intelligence community over the course of 8 years? How many millions of dollars did he receive on the public speaking circuit? If the Republican deviants are to be ostracized and shunned, then so should the democratic party's sexual deviants...starting with Bill Clinton: the head deviant in charge.

6:57 is exactly the response that I expected to elicit from my post. They gloss over the real topic of discussion (What exactly is the difference between what Clinton did, why didn't he resign, and why does the republican have to resign for doing something not illegal when Clinton lied and abused his position of power over a subordinate) and go right into Bush-bash mode. So predictable. So typical. So sad.

And so true.
PS - You brought up the topic - Why did Clinton get away with it?

And by the way, pragmatically speaking, most Dems don't want Sen. Craig to resign. They hope he stays right in place. Idaho is a very red state & he would be about the only Repub. that might be defeatable. It's mainly the Republicans that are calling for his resignation & that's a fact you can't belie.
