Gov. Rick Perry has assigned 38 soldiers, three helicopters and six high-profile vehicles to parts of Cooke and Tarrant counties hit hard by flooding. "The state is taking swift action in addressing the needs of the individuals and areas impacted by these storms," Perry said in a statement.
Translated: I watched what happened to those politicians after Hurricane Katrina and, although the damage isn't a fraction of that, I'm going to err on the side of overkill with my response.

Unfortunately in his defense, he did a good job with Hurricane Rita.
Weren't the governor of Louisiana and the mayor of New Orleans liberal weenies?
Little Rickie munches as a governor and as a human being!!!!!!
4:16 ~ you are correct sir! Unfortunately the liberal m.o. is to shoot off their mouths whenever conservatives do anything... no matter what it is! It's always easier to be part of the problem instead of part of the solution.
What would you say if he had done nothing?
I don't like him and didn't vote for him but be fair.
Conservative Weenies are always a bit on the rare side............but they can still really suck. A weenie. That is. Conservative Weenie SuckFest. Slurp,,,goosh,,slurp..good..mmmmhhhhmm....suck.....conservative sucking....love Rick Perry.....give it all to me Rick..... Ummmmmmmgoood.....good...Rush told me how good it is and he was Right. thank you, condi. you are so right. Caucus with the devil, ya'll seem to see what so many miss.
10:26-- anotard-- you proud of that or just on drugs? Either way, check out dude, you're neither clever nor valuable to this world.
Hey 10:26, is that your idea of a contribution? I would so rather be considered conservative if you represent the liberal way to discuss anything under any circumstances. Go to bed if you are that drunk. Go to hell if you are that obnoxious.
10:26 looks like the poster child for the Democrat's thought process: never have anything substantive to say. Always point fingers and speak in nonsensical childish blabber. I hope you're proud to be associated with such mental giants. It's comical.
I'm so tired of our world of polar-opposites when it comes to politicians (and this blog). Isn't it possible that conservatives are correct on some issues and that liberals are correct on others? Isn't it possible that Perry has made some good decisions and some bad?
It would be nice if we would all grow up a bit and analyze the specific decision, legislation, or position. It would be nice if all support/disagreement weren't labeled with the most extremely pejorative characterization.
A person can support Perry, but disagree with one of his decisions. A person can support criminal prosecutions, but question the facts in a particular case. A person can support our troops and yet be against the war. A person can disagree with the President's fiscal policy, but support his efforts against terrororists.
Please, let's not all paint with such a broad brush. It's childish to believe that one side is always right and the other side is always wrong.
9:43 you are being too real and reasonable.
you must exit this blog immediately!!
