Random Tuesday Morning Thoughts

The first ever pieces of what would become a full blown scandal began this week a decade ago with a Deadspin article, and a court conviction later in the week.

  • Calm down, buddy.

    .

  • Texas House Member Held Hostage: "House Speaker Dustin Burrows told lawmakers that members who broke quorum could only leave the House chamber upon agreeing in writing to be released into the custody of a Texas Department of Public Safety officer tasked with ensuring their return when the House reconvenes at 10 a.m. Wednesday." One of them refused to sign. She's still there.

Sample of pledge agreement signed by other lawmaker.

  • It's not as much as Fox, which paid Dominion $787.5 million back in 2023, but Newsmax has less than 10% of the audience that Fox News has.

  • He's not gonna leave, and he's not going to lose control of his do-nothing Congress.

    • And he'll do it one way or another.

  • This five minute video out of Rhode Island is a masterpiece. As a lawyer, nothing provides more pleasure than cops jacking up another lawyer in the wrong who tries to play the lawyer card. These two drunk ladies, who just got kicked out of a restaurant, were asking for it. And their husbands/dates need to get some scene control.

  • I wouldn't get too excited over this. But it does keep this Trump headache in the news.

  • Per DPS, we are getting a new driver's license design.

  • I'm not sure if anything was accomplished with the big meeting in the White House yesterday, but we learned this morning that Trump still doesn't know that Russia invaded Ukraine.
  • Legal stuff: The topless DA in West Texas was all set to go to trial yesterday until her docket fell apart because she admittedly "had to learn another hard procedural lesson this morning."
