Random Friday Morning Thoughts

A guy bought an armored van off of Ebay, went and shot up the Dallas PD headquarters as well as a couple of cop cars, and then fled leading to a standoff in a parking lot 13 miles away.  Then a police sniper just shot him as the suspect sat in the van. Police then used a robot to detonate bombs inside the vehicle.

• This morning, Trump urged Iran to "make a deal" before "there is nothing left." (Side note: What was the "Iranian Empire"?)

• This is bizarre. Yesterday Trump seemed to clearly indicate that the "good" illegal immigrants won't be deported at all -- so long as they work hard in the fields and in hotels. (Cue Dixie.) MAGA hardliners went nuts in response. 
  
  
  
• And Trump later double downed on it. 
  
  
  
• But the Washington Post reports this morning that no changes to immigration policy are coming. 
  
  
  
• A U.S. senator was handcuffed after attending/interrupting a news conference held Thursday by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.  I'm not sure how I feel about this. He seemed to be wanting the confrontation.
