- One station was doing a store on the 77 year old lady v. cop last night and then showed a video from a few years back of a senior citizen caught on dash cam firing back at the camera with a shotgun. A trooper was killed in that incident the report said. I had never heard of it.
- If the 77 year old lady is thinking about suing, she is wasting her time.
- T. Boone Pickens was on The Ticket yesterday. That man is insufferable. (He was also on Piers Morgan last night with Mark Cuban -- I've got that DVR'd.)
- Kate Middleton is certainly in the news this morning. (You're on your own.)
- Sports: (1) Crazy fake field goal for a TD by the Packers last night on a 4th and 26, (2) with all the games left against the A's, the Rangers missing the playoffs can't be ruled out, (3) Alabama covers against Arkansas this weekend -- bet the house, (4) Ole Miss upsets Texas this weekend - bet about $20, and (5) if you are remotely interested in UT v. Ole Miss, scroll down this link to see a very funny preview of the game. Baylor is even mentioned.
- A spokesman for the very powerful hacker group "Anonymous" was arrested yesterday in Dallas during an online chat. The group then retaliated by posting the name, address, telephone number, and credit card number (complete with expiration date and security code) of thirteen federal employees.
- Any of you guys ever read The Looming Tower: Al-Qaeda and the Road to 9/11?
- The local CBS affiliate revised its weather forecast yesterday at noon to predict up to five inches of rain over the weekend. Man, they backed off that.
- I had promised myself I'd get out of the stock market when the Dow hit 14,500. I'm now thinking about sooner -- it sits now at 13,539. There has been a heck of a good run over the last four years and I fear a "correction" is coming. It was around 7,600 at the end of Bush Presidency.
- This may be my favorite time of the year (as long as the weather is cool.)
- The USA Today is supposed to have wheeled out a brand new redesign today. People dog that paper, but I love it when ever I get to read one. But it's always weird when I hear someone say, "I read in the USA Today today . . . ."
- Celebrity prediction: Amanda Bynes' wheels will shoot off far worse than Lindsay Lohan's.
- Death of a 33 year old from Boyd in the Update. What happened?

In the unlikely event that Obammy gets re-elected, who is he going to blame for the mess he inherits?
Yes, The Looming Tower is fascinating. It is important to know the difference between Taliban and Al Queda and all the ways the attack of 9-11 could have been detected and avoided.
If we had only had TSA before 9/11, they would have fully searched the 88 year old women in wheel chairs and the 2 year old's with box cutters and prevented them from boarding.
Personally I blmae Obama
Love that the Ridglea Theatre is restored. If Bridgeport could get the City Council away from horses and football mentalities, our little downtown theatre might revive. At least they could offer some activities for families and charge a nominal fee to watch old movies, etc. Actually heard a merchant downtown suggest this.
The arts are still powerful. Fort Worth knows it.
Just wish Bridgeport did!
Read Steven Coll's "Ghost Wars" and Caleb Carr's "The Lessons of Terror." Both are excellent. "The Looming Tower" is on my list.

Is US Ambassador to Libya J Christopher Stevens and the 3 other Americans killed by ragheads better off than they were 4 years ago?
Barry, printing money by the Fed Chair to purchase bad home loans from the big banks (started with Bill Clinton)after pressure from ACORN (Obama sued CitiBank to make loans to the poor) and to buy our debt (up 5 trillion) since Obama was elected is driving the stock market up now. But it is short lived to get Obama re-elected so Bernake can keep his job; Romney is going to fire him if elected.
So if I had stock, I would sell it today!!! Anyone thinking we can just print money (3rd printing coming up)and keep on spending while borrowing 1 Trillion a year, and have a robust economy or a future for our children and grandchildren is not thinking!
Look close the one in the black, even the dolphins are trying to escape. Friday morning scanks.
EPIC FAIL.
Are you kidding me??? Even as someone who hates the Rangers with every ounce of my being, I know that there is no way possibloe that they miss the playoffs. Sure they may let the West slip to the A's, but they will still get in as one of the two Wild Card teams...
That kind of thinking may lessen your sports credibility...
the numbers are really based on a much weaker dollar, and about to get weaker still with QE3 happening now. so you should hold if you have good stock, sell much higher at end of october, it may crash right after the E..when O is re-e.. ;,((
One thing to remember counsel, is that one of the big reasons the DOW is so high and has stayed that way is because the FED is printing money like a Parker Bros. board game, devaluing our currency. You'd be right to start giving it more than just a "little" consideration. Don't be surprised, if and when GM tanks again, that we see our credit rating drop again. The only reason they're not right now, is a sizable percentage of their new vehicles are being purchased by the government. GM's credit arm, I forget it's new name, has a 1:1 prime/sub-prime loan ratio. When the housing bubble burst the prime/sub-prime loan ratios were 5 or 6:1.
So your in the market, eh? I didnt know that small town lawyering and shystering paid so well. Any stock marktet tips for us common slobs, mr buffett?
stupid f'n sheeple.
The one on the left is hot... for a tranny
The Rangers have a 3 game lead over the A's, but still have the best record in the American League. The Orioles and Yankees are tied for the AL East, and both are 4 games behind the Rangers. The next closest are the Angels (6.5 games back) and the Rays (7 games back).
Remember, rules have changed this year. We have two wild card teams. With 19 games left, it would take a Braves/Cardinals style collapse for the Rangers to miss the Post-Season.
no blonde muff here..
God bless the family of Roy Young and the James Wood employees
Girl on left should share a sandwich with the girl on the right.
The 33 year old was in a vegetative state after giving birth to a child years ago.
Sell your stock now. Remember when we were just waiting for it to hit 10,000 back in about 1998? It has been over valued ever since then, with the exception of the last recession. That's when companies were last correctly valued. Get out.
Anonymous is pretty bad ass. I've enjoyed their hijinxes (?) over the years. And I'm surprised that almost none of them have ever been caught.
Kate Middleton is gorgeous. She could use some boobs though.
That was a fairly funny UT preview. "And their women will be worse..." Gold.
Rage
What happened to Roy Young?
Has ol' wordy come in here and admitted Bush was a disaster like he did yesterday?
Are our relationships with Egypt, Libya, and Israel better than they were Nov. 2, 2008?
And yesterday's Randy Girl... DAMN!
Yes. I'm just can't believe. He will be missed.
1107 #1 -Nice try, Willie, but you've already crapped out. You'd better say on the porch.
Obama's "housing probe" in January focused on mortgage-backed securities (MBS) as a cause of the housing market collapse -- then yesterday the Obama administration announces major new purchases of MBS. I guess things are going so well on the foreign policy front he's comfortable messing up the economy even more than he already has.
I am sorry Amanda Bynes is on the celebrity road to oblivion. Not handling her fame & youth in an appropriate fashion. Must have taken lessons from Britney.
My Other Brother Darryl
The dow hitting 13,--- is probably something the left is doing to pump up their president.
Because we all know the left today = FRAUD.
FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD
Nope. Wordy has retracted his statement, I guess. Despite not knowing the details of the current administration's purchases (there are lots of types of mortgage backed securities), he's claiming doing the exact same thing that Bush did (he assumes that's what's happening, anyway) is a bad move by Obama. No mention of the move causing the collapse under Bush though. Great job crawfishin' there wordy! Keep it up!
10:44 heart attack last night
The problem with economic moves like the fed is making is, you aren't 100% sure they are going to work out like you want them too.
Despite the rally in the stock market and 'hurrah's" on Wall St., it will take years, literally, to determine if QE3 had the intended affect on the economy that the fed was banking on.(yes, that was a pun)
LOL @ Rage... the fact you post your love for Anonymous solidifes your DBag status.
I tell you what--you take a poke at Anonymous and see if you don't think they're bad ass. You won't love them, but you'll have respect for them.
Which is all I said.
Your mis-read solidifies your illiterate and ignorant status. Please stick to your American Airlines posts in the future.
Thanks,
Rage
115 - Keep chuggin', little engine. You're adorable.
Funny to see wordkyle continue to obfuscate when he tripped over his own words yesterday. Admit it WK, you said Bush's policies were a disaster. Can't hardly go back on it now, at least not without lying.
And the Democrat economic plan is really doing the job! "Ratings Agency Egan-Jones Downgrades US Debt" From the article: "Egan-Jones cited "the potential for the Federal Reserve's third round of large-scale asset purchases to weaken the dollar and drive up inflation," without significantly raising the country's real gross domestic product...From 2006 ((Note: when Democrats took over Congress) to present, the US's debt to GDP rose from 66% to 104%."
348 - Sorry little buddy ("troll,") But a) I didn't say it; and b) Other folks yesterday pretty much crushed the crap out of your oft-repeated attempt at misdirection.
P.S. You misused the word obfuscate.
Want to know about Anonymous? Well, first of all, they are not a hacker "group". There is no membership system. They are often referred to as a "collective", which I suppose is closer to a description.
Anonymous is more of a description than it is a name. Anyone....you, Barry, me....can be a part of Anonymous. Anyone can cease to be part of Anonymous at any time.
Anyone can speak for anonymous. There is absolutely no structure whatsoever. People who are part of anonymous participate in whatever activities they want to participate in.
Once your real name is revealed to the world, you can no longer be a part of anonymous.
Signed,
Anonymous
9:01 STFU! You could live in Rhome. Shut up and count your blessings.
9:34, GM is alive and well because the GMC dealership in Decatur is kicking ass and selling z71's, camaros, and cruz's like hotcakes! Look around Decatur, nothing but soccer moms driving suburban SUV's! Maybe you will feel better when GM fails and half the Wise County workforce goes down the crapper cause ol James W had to lay everyone off. Then those employees wont be spending their money in town anymore.
A day in the Grove really is the best day ever! I didn't even know they were playing UT. Now I have to see what channel it's on, tell my husband the AR game got cancelled and send him out of the house while I wear my Ole Miss t-shirt and yell about junk I don't even understand. And, the coke is not thrown out of Tahoes. If anything, it's gently tossed out of BMWs while driving slowly down fraternity row, like glitter.
BTW, Krum beat Alvord last night 59-14. We are 3-0.
Re: Ridglea Theater vs downtown Bridgeport and the arts. I've been to several movies in the downtown BP theater in the past 2-3 years. They were FREE...went by City Hall and picked up tickets. They were FAMILY friendly...took the grandprincess and some of her buddies. They had HOMEMADE concession items...plus popcorn and soft drinks for sale. They were EMPTY...for the most part, we could sit absolutely anywhere.
I don't know what it costs to heat or cool that theater and to do the stuff the city is doing, but I can say they are really trying to provide some entertainment at home, including dance classes and child care after school.
Kudos to the BP Parks and Rec department!
11:17: two or three times to the BP downtown theatre in the past two or three years. That is supposed to be impressive?
The City COULD DO A LOT MORE to promote that theatre - what you described by going there could be done ON A REGULAR BASIS, if they would assign someone to do it.
And then see that it got done.
Not everybody in Bridgeport wants to run, jump and play outside.
Bridgeport city fathers have no creative vision.
Decatur does.
Then move you sissy kid to Decatur and shut up already.
