Gas prices rise and fall with oil futures. Oil is a world market commodity and is determined by speculators on futures. If you think any president can control world oil prices you are living in a fool's paradise.

The secret service, not presidents, make the decisions on protection. The method for determining the number of Marine guards in embassys was in place before Obama or Romney were born.

Congess votes on this but debt ceiling increases are listed by administration, i.e. Reagan, Bush, Clnton etc. When it happens on Obama's watch he did it, any other time congress did it, I get your strategy.

Actually, the reason given by Egan-Jones for the U.S. credit downgrade was "the potential for the Federal Reserve’s third round of large-scale asset purchases to weaken the dollar and drive up inflation." Nothing about raising the debt limit.
