Public Scorn? Yes. But Arrested?

Hey, everyone knows that a 58 (53?) year old man shouldn't be using binoculars to check out teenagers at a car wash. That's Don't-Act-Like-A-Perve 101 (even in New Hampshire.) But getting arrested for "loitering" and "causing public alarm" for doing so?

Story.

Maybe it was the mustache.

One quote I'm using more and more is "you can get arrested for anything these days."

This should be a warning to dirty old men, everywhere, to stay home and surf MySpace to get their freak on.

"causing public alarm".......who came up with that one, Lawyers?

Did they arrest everyone that went to the car wash? This guy at least expressed some shame for his behavior by doing his gawking from afar, what about all the guys that just drove up, got their cars washed and did their gazing from the vehicle? His only crime was being to cheap to just get his car washed.

Kind of like posting pictures of half naked young women on your blog.

One time I sat across the street from a music store and used Binoculars to look at a Banjo.

It was purdy fun.

The man's a perv. Cut his wee wee off. LOL That will teach him!

Ok, so the guy's creepy. But to have his name and picture out there labeling him a perv when he wasn't charged with anything perverted? Technically, it's not illegal to stare at people in a public setting (obviously, he wasn't charged). I'd almost feel sorry for the guy if I didn't have daughters and the situation didn't give me the creeps.

The truth is that your quote is fairly accurate. If the law doesn't like what you're doing, they can pin something on you. It might not be what they wanted to nail you for, and it might not stick, but you have to go thru the hassle of fighting it.

However, this guy is most likely a sex offender (or potential). Maybe the higher profile attached to him with this story will cause folks around him to pay attention to his actions

Note to self: take binoculars out of vehicle

I wonder what the girls were wearing to attract men to let them wash their car. I would never let my daughter wear the clothes I have seen on girls at some of the car wash fundraisings in Decatur. Parents who allow this are sick. Real sick.

That is a great quote considering that you make money everytime someone is thrown in jail! (at least for DWIs).

Man, I thought "loitering" as a criminal offense went out with the dinosaurs, due to being unconstitutionally vague and overbroad! He's creepy, but ARRESTED? Don't think any of that is going to "stick" in court.

I used Binoculars to look at porn on my neighbors computer across the street and now the Police are driving up and down my street and I think they're looking at me with Binoculars.

FOR SALE: one used set of Binoculars.

How much revenue could the city raise by arresting all the 58 yr old men watching the cheerleaders at football and basketball games?

maybe it was the sign on his car that read, " Charity Fundraiser---Mustache rides $1.00"

So what are the charges when I get arrested for looking at your Random Thoughts?

Anonymous said...

Well he should have done it in Vermont..they would have made him a judge instead.

11:14 beat me to it...

But it's not an arrestable offense to take zoom lens photos of Miley Cyrus at the beach, sell them or buy them and publish/distribute them?

S. you and your dad did this to me in RAB...then admitted it.
Wonder what RAB PD would do?

I think they should use George Bush's charge of "enemy combatant" so they can just hold him forever without trial. Gee, why not call all criminals enemy combatant and jail 'em all without trial. Wouldn't that save a lot of time?

Girls doing a carwash, going to the pool or beach, going to the movies, going to a dance, ect. dress to attract attention from males. Always will. They want guys to look, only thing is they want to be able to select who looks at them and who doesn't. If someone looks that they don't approve of, they always pull the pervert card. If they don't want anyone to look keep your cute little ass at home. Grown women are just as bad about looking at boys that have developed bodies but they do not get accused of being perverted. What the hell is the difference?

Banjo man is the wittiest and funniest one on here. He (she?) is the only reason I read the comments.

With a body like that she got to be nammed Lucille.

I have the solution!! Invoke religious law and have all females dress in burka-like tent garb. Then nasty men won't see anything. See, those Muslims got this all figured out!
